Communicating Safely OnlineOpen-Ended Activities
A series of open ended activities have designed to be adapted for any year level or teaching environment. Use one activity or all as a comprehensive approach to delivering the Digital Licence program.
Activities:
1. Using the compare and contrast model, discuss the differences in communicating online rather than face to face. Discuss the specific differences in the language used: slang, punctuation, the meaning behind the conversation, the intent of the message being delivered and the rapport that is being created.
2. Using the information on the ‘digital footprint’ devise a top 5 similar to the 5 P’s for positive footprint.
3. Using the footprint template create a current digital footprint.
4. Using the footprint template create a future digital footprint.
5. Using the ‘how to monitor your Digital Footprint’ document, create a mind map of the positives and negatives of doing each statement.
6. Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX95q5HYqzA a 5 min video on how to become a positive digital citizen. Create a story board on all the positives aspects about being online.
