JUNE/JULY CLASSES – Come Learn with Us!
Beginner Knitting! Whether you are just starting or refreshing your skills, this class is for you! Learn all of the knitting basics. Cast on, knit and purl
stitch, cable, basic button hole and bind off to name a few. At the end you will have a fantastic project that will launch your skills
into your next creation! There will be five 2-hour classes.

Beginner Crochet! Our first class was a success with many beautiful color combinations! Now it is your turn.
Whether you are refreshing skills grandma taught you or starting from scratch, this project
was designed to jumpstart your skillset and have you an advanced beginner in no time.

Crochet Critters! OMG! I want to make them all! If you've never tried your hand at crochet, or are a crocheter, but never “hooked” amigurumi
critters, try this! Unlike traditional teeny tiny amigurumi you can use any weight yarn you're comfortable with to create these fun
animals. Basic crochet stitches, working in the round, finishing, and embroidery are all part of the process.
Work from one of the Menagerie Books, or grab a kit.

Workshops & Other Classes! Mystery Stitch of the Month! Can you solve the mystery? Come to one or come to all! Learn one new unique stitch a month
as you explore the world of knit and purl and how they can be manipulated to excite

Block Party! At Rows of PurL we hear all too often that there are customers who have never
blocked a project before. Well, there is no time like the present to learn. Blocking
makes your projects come to life, helps hide minor imperfections and makes the
time and hard work you put into each project worth the effort.

Flat Brioche Workshop! Brioche is one of those stitches that is approached completely differently if it’s flat or in
the round. In this workshop you’ll work with swatches and learn brioche “flat”. Learn the
basics as well as different edge techniques, pattern reading, and the language of brioche.
Get ready for fall classes and be able to tackle all the beautiful brioche shawls on Ravelry.

Felted Christmas Stocking! What? A project that gives you a chance to knit, felt, and needle felt? Nothing better.
Knit the stocking using all the same techniques you would use for a sock, short rows
and heel flaps. Felt it and have a load of fun needle felting with whatever your heart desires.

Christmas Snowflakes! Last year was a hit and we hope to continue the tradition. Crocheted snowflakes have
been made and passed down for years and it is our job to carry on. Bring your happy,
bring a bottle or a snack to share and let’s create some beautiful gifts for holiday giving.
The crocheted ornaments make a great hostess gift tied onto a bottle of wine…the
gift that keeps on giving. Crochet knowledge is a must.

Switch Trick Cowl! This beauty celebrates the tuck stitch family. Have you ever met a Tuck Stitch?
This is the parent of the brioche stitch. Learn about how they are made and paired
together to create gorgeous textured fabrics that will make you drool. Pair and play
with your favorite colors while mastering yarnovers, burps, barks and perhaps a Latvian
braid if you are up for the challenge.

Felted Santa! In this class fiber artist Kerstin Katko (aka Ducky from Ducky’s Sheep Shack) will teach you
how to sculpt sheep wool into a Santa Claus decoration. You’ll have choice of skin color and
shape. You can make a tall Father Christmas or a rounder Santa! While felting has been
around for centuries, needle felting is a relatively new craft. It involves using barbed felting
needles to compact and shape wool into sculpture. Once you try it you’ll be hooked! No
experience is necessary. We will be using sharp needles so a few poked fingers are possible,
but lots of creative fun is inevitable!

Natural Dyeing Workshop! Natural dyes create unique colors that are set apart. Learn the basics of natural dyeing using

Private Spinning Lessons! Private Lessons are available for beginner spinning and drop spindle. Master Spinner,

Needle Felted Critters! Have you ever wanted to try needle felting? It is crazy fun! Learn the basics making
this adorable pig while experimenting with color. This is a hands-on workshop.

NEW Intermediate Needle Felting… XL Elephant! Take your new felting skills to a more advanced level. Learn to make more complex
shapes and textures using wire armature. Build an oversized elephant and embellish
your design with a custom blanket or headdress with a variety of colors to choose from.

Wet Felted Landscape Scenes! Expand into the world of wet felting! In this two-session class you will learn how to create a
landscape by painting with wool, exploring proper layering of base fibers, how to blend colors,
layout your design and even add texture. Next how to wet felt and full your finished piece. In
session two we will focus on detail work by adding outline stitches, embroidery, beads and needle
felting to give the felted pieces their finishing touches. You will be able to vary the elements of
your landscape to make it your own one-of-a-kind work of art. Finished pieces can be framed
after drying or sewn or hung on the wall as is. This class is a great next step to delving into the
wonderful creative possibilities in the world of wet felting!
