CeLebrate the differenCeS that make Us strong.

Columbus is more than just another metropolitan city. It’s a diverse community of

individuals, representing the mosaic of our great country. With a dazzling array of

abilities, life stories, and dreams, our people tell the story of Columbus.

Now, they can be united as never before through the transformative experience of

becoming a part of something bigger than themselves. Two hundred people living out

a dream, honoring the past, celebrating the present, and envisioning the future.

it aLL BeginS with a Song.

Many people dream of performing on-

stage. Now, they can live that dream while

strengthening who we are as a community

and showcasing that community to the world.

The choir will consist of 200 dedicated

volunteers. Musical ability is not necessary, but

there are two important requirements to join:

1. Participants must be residents of the

Columbus metro area.

2. They must perform a community service

project with fellow choir members.

Choir members will learn and master songs while

serving together in the community. Their hard

work will create lasting bonds and lead to an

amazing on-stage experience before a packed

house at the historic Ohio Theatre.

The process will be captured on film, from

the first rehearsal to the final preparations

backstage. The footage will be used to create

a short-version documentary, which will

premiere at the concert and be presented to

200Columbus as a legacy to the diversity and

talent of our great city.

There are rewards for everyone involved in

200 years, 200 voices.

aboUt the harmony projeCt

The Harmony Project enriches the community by bringing together diverse people in

Columbus to break down social barriers, serve their fellow citizens, inspire the greater

community, and experience the elevation of their own spirit in the process.

Our music and documentary programs give

a voice to under-served communities, people

who dream of performing on-stage, and those

who want to improve the lives of others.

As we practice, walls come down and bridges

are built. When we perform, we spotlight a

community in harmony.

We believe that when people of different racial

backgrounds, religions, ages and occupations

unite in artistic collaboration, they inspire their

audience and community to action.

When we share, we highlight a human need.

By responding to that need, we become a

community in harmony.

We send a powerful message by being who we

are: a diverse group of people united by music,

service, and commitment to others.

Our service projects are designed to bring

diverse groups of people together for a common

purpose. When we serve together, we create a

greater impact than if we had acted alone. The

result is a community in harmony.

Our projects have contributed to a more

sustainable environment, addressed the

problems of homelessness, and provided arts

education for under-served populations. In

giving back, we demonstrate the power of many

voices joining together as one.
