The donaon for shipping each shoebox is $9. This can be enclosed in the box or it can be paid online and you can Follow Your Box and learn the desnaon. Due to customs regulaons no toothpaste or candy is allowed in the shoeboxes. If you have any quesons, please call Laura Jenkins 413-3123 Thanksgiving Baskets A wonderful way to show the love of Jesus is to make a Thanksgiving basket for the United Methodist Neighborhood Center. You sll have me to get one together! A list of contents may be found on the back page of this newsleer. Bring the contents to church and drop them off in the designated area in the main hallway. That means I’ve got plenty of bags of assorted flavors just waing for your purchase. We only have 5 extra bags of plain, which is the big seller, so call and let me know if you want them. We have varying amounts of the rest, so keep in mind cousins you might see, that you will need a giſt for, under the tree. I/we have lots of milk chocolate to sell. And remember, these pecans support our ministry, Family Prom- ise. These pecans will be delivered to me before this Sunday, I’m thinking, and can be paid for with cash or check. Adult Study Group: As Steve continues to teach from First Peter, today

was how new Christians think & act. “Obey man’s rules but have the love of God in your heart.” 14 Members & 7 visitors were present. Join

us in the Chapel.

Exodus Class: We're currently studying “Faith from the Back Side” by

J. Ellsworth Kalas. We meet in room 253. Comprised of couples and singles with and without children. Ages 30s to 50s. Everyone welcome.

Fidelis: – 11/5/17 We were delighted to have the Wesleyan Class

meet with us again this week, and have one of their teachers, Tyrrell Bond, teach our class. She did an excellent job of covering the meaning

of the scripture and emphasized that just as in the Bible lesson, we must

commit and depend on God to see us through whatever we face. Hugh

Bell presided over our class today, with 20 people present. Visitors are

always welcome to join us for these inspirational lessons, warm fellow-ship, and meaningful discussion. Covenant Class: The Covenant Class is an adult intergenerational fel-

lowship of couples and singles. The class uses a discussion format with

scripturally based studies. Our emphasis is on seeking a contemporary understanding and how to apply Jesus’ teaching in our everyday lives.

We are currently discussing James Moore’s book, When You’re a Chris-

tian, the Whole World Is from Missouri, Living the Life of Faith in a

“Show Me” World. We welcome guests and new congregants to join us in our fellowship. Contact Information: Location: Room 105, first

Annual Veterans Dinner

Tuesday, November 14, 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall

President of Forever Young Senior Wish

Forever Young's mission is to give hope to senior veterans, 65 years and older, by granting their unfulfilled dreams. Hope for the future is important for the emotional well-being of senior adults. Forever Young has organized trips to the WWII Memorial, Pearl Harbor and the European Theater of WWII for senior vets and their families. She will be sharing highlights from their recent trip to Pearl Harbor.

This dinner honoring our veterans is open to all. The United Methodist Men are provid-ing dinner at no cost to attendees, and we wish to have veterans, their family and friends on hand to celebrate with them the service and sacrifice they have made to protect our freedom. Limited seating. Reservations recommended by sign-up sheet in the main hall or by calling the church office at 683-5286.
