College Responds to National Forum on Health Report

The College has prepared a response to the report of the National Forum on Health released in February 1997. In a letter sent to the federal Minister of Health, the College noted that the report was largely silent on the issue of leadership and management in the health care system. There is also a need for continuing public dialogue about health policy issues. The College recommended the creation of a Centre for Health Leadership that would provide advanced leadership development, encourage the use of new ideas and best practices, and offer a permanent forum for public dialogue about health policy issues. Copies of the College’s response to the National Forum on Health were distributed to all members, and additional copies can be ordered through the National Office in Ottawa.
