Setting:The story occurs on the United States in place called Chesapeake Bay.
New ending for the story: Ben and
Matt were catching crabs and oysters. Later they decide to go
catching in water every
morning, so Ben was happy
because that was his dream. A
few months later they open his own company and it was a success.
Summary:There was a waterman’s boy called Ben Warren that have ten-years. When Ben grows up he wants to catch crabs and oysters.David was a young scientist ,he is interested on what he is studing and he likes to talk about the health of the waters.David is a little worried of Bay life , Ben had a friend called Matt they were talking of a good idea and they got a conclusion that they were proposed to find the sources of the oil , but then they began to think that looking for that can be very dangerous.
Message/Lesson:At the end of reading the book, Ilearn that we have to give help to people that they needed,and that is important to follow our dreams.
Difficult words:1.squall: A violent windstorm that comes up suddenly and just as suddenly disappears.
2.smug: Appearing to be very pleased with oneself because of knowing something.
3.debris: The scattered remains of broken and torn objects, trash or garbage.
4.caulk: A soft, pasty substance used to fill in cracks.
5.culprit: A person guilty of a crime.
6.scow: A large, flat-bottom boat used for carrying heavy loads.
7.leach: To dissolve and soak into the surrounding area.
8.morose: Feeling down or gloomy.
9.spawn: To produce eggs in large numbers.
10. plankton: A combination of tiny plants and animals found floating in water.
11.wriggle: To move along by twisting and turning the body, as a worm or snake.
12.clutched: To grip or hold tightly or firmly.
13.tripod: A three-legged stand or support.
14.crabbing: The activity or occupation of fishing for crabs.
15.involved: Very intricate or complex.
16.egret: Any of several usually white herons that grow long , graceful plumes during the breeding season.
17.submerge: To cover with water.
18.copepod: A kind of tiny, hard-shelled animal living in fresh or salt water.
19.marsh: A low land that is soft and wet.
20.contradictory: Saying the opposite.
My favorite character:My favorite character was Ben Warren because he was a brave person and he clean the water for the people and animals that used, with people like him we can help the world, also I like that he wants to help other people.
Comment:I think it was an interesting story because they was a lot of emotion. They were some difficult word but I look for the definition and I understand. I like very much the book.
