the facility provides a self-contained site with three main buildings, a south Bank Cold store, larger north Bank Cold store which has a three storey purpose-built office block attached, together with a vehicle maintenance unit (vmu), and a smaller detached single storey warehouse providing additional workspace and storage together with small office and staff facilities.

to the west of the south Bank Cold store is a vehicle wash, and to the northeast corner of the site is a diesel storage tank. aside from the staff and visitor car parking adjacent to the access road there are parking facilities to the northeast corner and loading/circulation space between the south and north Bank Cold stores.

Generally vehicles can move 360 degrees around the site effectively creating a one-way traffic flow.
