Oversight procedures are the procedures used for the analysis of specific project activities and documentation to determine if the project is on track to be completed within the estimated schedule and cost, quality and will provide the required functionality

1. To determine and list the oversight procedures required for the duration of a construction project.

2. To identify the oversight procedures utilized for a completed construction project

3. To evaluate whether the oversight procedures used were effective in the completion of the project.

The goal of the project initiation phase is to get approval from the customers, management,

and other stakeholders to begin planning.

Project Overview

The project overview summarizes what the project is suppose to achieve the business value

it provides, the work it entails, and how you know when it’s done.

The project overview includes:

1. Problem or Opportunity Description –A description of the problem or opportunity

that the proposed project will address

2. Project Goals and Objectives(business, financial, performance, technical, quality).

Also good objectives are specific, measurable or verifiable, achievable and time-

related

Planning Process

Planning is the process of forecasting future outcomes that may be certain or unknown.

Planning Process Steps required for a construction project includes:

1. Establishing objectives

Objectives should be defined for the entire organization after which, broken down from

top down into a set of specific objectives relevant for each level of organizational

activity. The best scenario is to have objectives set out jointly by subordinates and their

superior across different levels of the organization.

2. Forecasting

Forecasting includes the estimation of future controllable and uncontrollable conditions

such as political and social

5. Developing alternatives

6. Creating procedures and rules

7. Establishing budgets
