16 SEQUENCE Create a moment of space and movement using images not taken by yourself. The ability to critically analzye an already existing mediuem and speak with it is important. Look at the possiblity and not what is.

04

Connecion is a key element when designing, you begin to narrow down relationships to convey a message. Manipulating how you present an idea is a vaulable tool.

100 + 1 Body Mantle Students will create a ‘body mantle’ fromtheir ‘100+1’ like objects. Think of it as a second skin, a piece of armature,an extension of the body or an object of adornment. The work must be able to be worn and express an intention.

Cast & Armature Manipulating the void around and object can either contain the space of let if out. Trapping a pocket of space is like trapping an actual object: Giving the illusion of openess with the moment is contained.

Study: Construct a Armature of Bass Wood to ‘hold’ your plaster cast. The work will be constructed vertical. The cast can be ‘sited’ anywhere within the armature; though, one face; min., must be on one of the vertical surfaces. The cast must be able to viewed in plan to a minimum of 50%.

How do you create something entirely different with object of similiar language? The proportions and shape are all the same but the way they interact and interlock is different. We now have two different things happen, the panals caputure and outline the space formed while the lines allows the light and shadows to enter, providing depth and volume. The question is not HOW but rather WHEN do you take the similarity and make it different.

Joint Connection

Connection is a key componet is design, with out it nothing makes sense, nothing can relate. Through my study, I have drawn countless elevational composition. The purpose was to create movement and depth using mainly elevational technique, not only will this pay homage to my lessons but it stress the importants of what to highlight and he usage of the fore, middle, and background.

Threshold, or the experience within a space. We pay visit to the University of Cincinnati CCM (College of Conservatory Music) and anaylsis its space, its atmopshere. There I extruded the components I needed not to recreate, but reinvent that same atmosphere. There is were you find the true design intent and from those plan the axon drawing was inspire. This abstraction is solely comprise of the design element of the space.

Reading Center The concept derives from the simple juxaposition between the front boundary and the back. The two opposing angles, one 90 degrees while the other a 20, 70 degree, allow each to emhasis one another.

How do we begin to emphasis and direct our people? We go back to the idea, two different geometry.I begin to create a pattern that funnels people through, which in turn leads people to the direction I am promoting. The Structure, Service, and Stairs maps out the location of the program while also creating the promenade.

Seeking knowledge is something that I constantly strive for. You can learn something new from anyone. To become a better designer, comes from the experience at hand. I want to challenge, I want to create, I want to think, I want to learn.
