CMD, NHFDC participated in the concluding session of three day 12th Global
Conference of Women Entrepreneurs.
CMD, Shri Harsh Bhal participated in the concluding session of the 12th Global
Conference of Women Entrepreneurs. The three day Global Conference was organized
on the theme of “Trade Liberalization & Emerging Opportunities for Women Entrepreneurs” at The Ashok hotel, New Delhi. The prominent participants included Princess Fay Jahan Ara, Dubai; Shri Rajan Anandan, MD, Google India;
Dr Vindeshwar Pathak, Founder, Sulabh International; Dr Rajanee Aggarwal,
President, FIWE, Ms Alka Lamba and other prominent persons. The women
entrepreneurs from different countries also showcased their products at the Ashok
Hotel during the conference.
CMD, NHFDC gave a presentation on schemes of NHFDC and National Trust for
economic empowerment of women with disabilities. His presentation (see below)
showcased some of the disabled women entrepreneurs assisted by NHFDC who
excelled in life and established themselves as successful entrepreneurs overcoming
difficulties due to disabilities.
As per 2001 Census, 2.19 Crore PwDs reside in India.
Female: 0.93 Crore (42.47% of PwD population)
Male: 1.26 Crore (57.53% of PwD population)

Corporation was incorporated in 1997 with an
authorized share capital of Rs 400 Crores.
• Provides concessional credit to PwDs for self-
employment ventures.
• Also supports skill & entrepreneurship training
to PwDs.

NHFDC attaches special importance to
Women with Disabilities.

1. Rebate in Rate of Interest is provided to women with disabilities:
i) 1% under all self employment schemes
ii) 0.5% for education loan

2.0 NHFDC envisage to cover more number of
women with disabilities.
NHFDC insists more and more coverage of women beneficiaries by maintaining at least 50% quota to them.
NHFDC has taken up with Regional Vocational Training Institutes (RVTIs) M/o Labour & Employment to provide stipend @ Rs 1000/women/month for skill training.

The National Trust
The National Trust is an autonomous organization
of MSJE, set up under the “National Trust for the
Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy,
Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities” Act
(Act 44 of 1999).
The National Trust works for the welfare of persons
with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation,
Multiple Disabilities.

Schemes & Programmes of National Trust for
Disabled Women
Gyan Prabha (Scholarship Scheme)
To encourage people with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities for pursuing any academic/vocational training / professional courses for enhancement of their skills.
The amount of scholarship is Rs. 1000 p.m for 1 year targeting 1000 persons p.a.
So far, scholarship to 54 students (including 13 female) have been sanctioned.

Uddyam Prabha (Incentive Scheme)
An Interest subsidy scheme to promote
economic activities for self employment of
PWDs. Interest incentive upto 5% for BPL & 3%
for others on loans upto Rs. 1 lakh for 5 years
targeting 1000 persons p.a.
4 persons have been sanctioned incentive
under the scheme, so far.

ARUNIM
Established as a non-profit society to serve the interests of its
members through marketing initiative for the products made
by persons with disabilities, particularly those disabilities which
are covered under the National Trust Act.
Its key objective is to create economic empowerment and self
reliance through promotion of market driven products &
services of persons with disabilities.
Currently working with 197 members across the country.
