Jagged Edge is a hairdresser shop in Clonakilty. People come here to get their hair cut. On the front of the hairdressers there is a sign that says Jagged Edge hair design. I am welcome to go into Jagged Edge. I can go in through the front door.

The staff member will ask me to sit down on one of the seats. They will ask me what I would like them to do with my hair. They might touch my head and my hair when talking to me. This is ok, they are just doing this so they know the best way to cut my hair.

The hairdresser will put a cloak on me that goes over the top of my clothes. This is to protect my clothes from getting hair on them.

While the hairdresser is talking to me, they may brush my hair. I might not like this, and that is ok. The hairdresser needs to brush my hair so he or she can do a good job and make my hair look nice.

Sometimes the hairdresser might ask me to come to the sink so they can wash my hair.

They will put a towel behind my neck, and ask me to lean back. They will wash my hair in the sink. They will ask me if the water is too hot or too

cold. If I don’t like the temperature of the water, I can tell the hairdresser. After my hair has been washed, the hairdresser will rinse the soap out,

and put a towel on my head.

dry my hair. It might be noisy, but that is ok. It

won’t take long and soon my hair will be dry.

This is a type of hairbrush. The

hairdresser might use a brush like this to

brush my hair.

This is a comb and a pair of scissors. The comb can also be used to brush my hair, and the scissors to cut my hair. The scissors are sharp, but that is ok. They need to be sharp to do a good job of cutting my hair. The hairdresser is very good at using the scissors and it is safe.

This is a razor. If I have short hair, the hairdresser might use this to cut my hair. They can attach a di�erent piece to the top to make sure my hair is cut to the length I would like. When the razor is turned on, it makes a buzzing noise, and I might feel it vibrating when it is near my head. This is ok. It will not take long to cut my hair, and it will not hurt me at all. It is very safe.

This is a spray bottle. It is full of water. Sometimes a hairdresser might use this to spray on my hair to make it easier to cut.

When the hairdresser has finished cutting my hair, I can stand up and they will take off my cloak. I can then go to the

desk to pay.

Near the desk there is a stand with lots of hair products on it. There are bright lights on the stand. These products are for sale, and if I want to buy any I can pay for them at the desk.

This is the desk where I can pay for my haircut. I can pay with money or with my card.

When I have paid, I say Thank You and Goodbye and leave

through the front door.
