1980-82 Developed a values program for Grades 7 & 8 (later published as Values and

living, OISE Press).

1977-79 Developed (with N. McCoy and J. Bradley) a values program for Grades 1-6 (later

published as Reflecting on values, OISE Press).

1969-71 Developed Personal and Social Values curriculum, pilot-tested in Durham and

York Regions, Ontario (later published as Ethics: An introduction, McGraw-Hill

Ryerson).

(b) Field Work and Teacher Development in School Boards

1995 to date Building partnership between our OISE/UT preservice program (Mid-Town) and

elementary schools in the Toronto area. Frequent school visits, discussions with

teachers and administrative staff, and inservice sessions.

1987-1997 Extensive OISE off-campus teaching, mainly with Curriculum and Educational

Administration M.Ed. students, in collaboration with OISE Field Centres.

1994-95 In collaboration with the OISE Trent Valley Field Centre, launched an off-campus

program at Belleville, Ontario (mainly school teachers attending).

1969 to date Teaching graduate courses for teachers attending OISE, dealing with issues of

schooling (e.g., "Values and Schooling," "Personal and Social Education,"

"Theory and Practice of Schooling," "The Class as a Learning Community,"

"Teaching and School Renewal," "Practitioner Inquiry," “Reflective Professional

Development”).

1969 to date Conducting workshops with teachers, often in collaboration with OISE Field

Centres, sharing the results of experimental teaching and curriculum development.

1982-83 Conducted the Values education implementation project in Perth County, Ontario

working with teachers and using Reflecting on values materials.

1976-77 Jointly taught and evaluated an experimental "Literature and Values" course with

Grade 13 students at St. Michael's Choir School, Toronto.

1975-76 Jointly conducted a survey of opinions of teachers on values education.

1974-75 Jointly taught and evaluated experimental values units with intermediate students

at Senator O'Connor Catholic High School, Toronto.

1970-72 Taught and evaluated an experimental Personal and Social Values course with

Grade 5 and 6 students at Stuart Scott P.S. and Whitchurch Highlands P.S. in

York Region, Ontario.

1970-71 Jointly taught and evaluated an experimental values course with Grade 11 and 12

students at Alderwood Collegiate, Etobicoke, Ontario.

1969-70 Taught and evaluated an experimental ethics course with Grade 11 History

students at Pickering High School, Ontario.
