A Christmas Hoedown Y’All By: Katie Costello

As those of you with younger siblings know, the Elementary Christ-mas concert was last night at 7:00 p.m. This year’s theme “A Christmas Hoe-down,” was an original musical written and composed by Mrs. Ragan. It featured many speaking parts, square dancers, pony express riders and solo singers. They even had a cowboy version of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” along with songs “Roasty, Toasty Turkey,” “Snowflakes,” “Our General Store,” “Reindeer Roundup” and “I’ve been on the Trail.” Everyone dressed up in their cowboy clothes and they were surrounded by plenty of country-inspired props. Santa even “moseyed by” after the concert much to the delight of all the lit-tle buckaroos and buckarettes!

By: Tyson Karsky “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is actually the 7th sequel to the original tril-ogy. Thirty years after the Rebel alliance’s victory over the second Death Star, the galaxy is still at war. It will be released Friday and many fans have been waiting a long time for that day! Those of us who are Star Wari-ans will be lined up tomorrow night to see the return of original characters Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, C-3PO, and Chewbacca. The movie is a total of two hours and fifteen minutes long and cost more than $201,000,000 to make. That’s $190, 000,000 more than the original “Star Wars.”

Dogs actually sweat! They don’t sweat in any areas covered with fur, but they would if the other dogs wouldn’t laugh at them

Axolotls are a critically endan-gered species of salamander that can regrow any part of their body since they’re made of stem cells. Weird!

Crows are so smart that they can recog-nize human faces and hold grudges against people they don’t like Octopods have three hearts, but don’t know how to love. How sad.
