Scale-out Architecture

The Cleversafe dsNet architecture is designed with massive storage scale-out in mind. Patented object-based storage software leverages information dispersal algorithms and encryption to expand, transform and disperse data across a network of storage nodes, eliminating the need to maintain multiple copies of the same data.

Cleversafe disperses a single protected copy of an object across multiple storage nodes in single or separate geographies providing highly available and reliable access to data even in the event of multiple failures. This allows customers to securely and reliably store their data with a fraction of the raw hard drive capacity used by traditional platforms.

Secure and Flexible Data

The Cleversafe platform can be deployed in a single site or across multiple geographically dispersed locations based on your business requirements. All that is required is a public or private network connection linking them together. This is possible because we have made building a secure product a priority from the beginning. A dsNet system can be deployed in three different top-level configurations:

Single-site is the simplest deployment option offering the best performance when site tolerance is not required.

A two-site deployment parallels a more traditional storage deployment, allowing customers to leverage existing infrastructure. Reads and writes can occur concurrently from both sites even when there is a communication disruption between them.

Geo-dispersing the platform across three or more sites allows a single copy of your data to be securely stored while still providing tolerance from site failure or destruction. Data is efficiently distributed without creating copies providing strong consistency for reading and writing even with a single site offline.
