CCCHS PRIORITY GOALS The priority goals established during the

strategic planning process are derived from

the CCCHS Vision and Mission statement, as

well as the key school assets identified by

the Strategic Planning Committee. These

goals and objectives focus on ways to

further strengthen CCCHS's ability to realize

its vision. The Strategic Planning Committee

conducted a thorough review of the school’s

demographic and performance trends,

historical survey work, Appreciative Inquiry

Summit insights and an appraisal of school

assets. The resulting priorities serve as a

fundamental roadmap for the impact CCCHS

will make over the next 3-5 years.

The fiscal and operational sustainability of CCCHS is the most important goal impacting the lives of our students and our community.

O B J E C T I V E S:

• Establish strong and ongoing support for financial planning.

• Identify projected needs and costs associated with CCCHS core goals, tuition support and school improvement plan.

• Explore the meaning of growth as it relates to our facility, programming and enrollment.

• Develop a dynamic long-term fiscal plan.

• Develop and implement a CCCHS advancement plan to increase donor/grant support and build the endowment.

• Increase student recruitment and retention.

• Increase financial literacy of students and families.

Goal 1 FORTIFY FISCAL AND OPERATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY

VISION STATEMENT

Page 3: Cleveland Central Catholic Strategic Plan

Goal 1 FORTIFY FISCAL AND OPERATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY

Increased visibility and outreach to a range of stakeholders is an important investment in the CCCHS brand. This will better engage stakeholders and generate needed fiscal support.

O B J E C T I V E S:

• Develop and implement an overall plan for increasing CCCHS visibility and outreach. • Identify and increase visibility around current/historical CCCHS key strengths and stories. • Identify and pursue new, high-profile opportunities for CCCHS student participation. • Increase CCCHS public relations via newspaper, television, the internet and social media.

Goal 2 INCREASE OUTREACH TO STAkEHOLDERS

Diversity – cultural, religious, ethnic, geographic, socio-economic and aptitude – is a defining strength of CCCHS. Proactively identifying and establishing mechanisms to ensure that diversity remains a priority.

O B J E C T I V E S:

• Promote the strengths of our multi-cultural identity. • Establish a support system for identifying and engaging diverse student/

family communities, potential donors and diverse faculty and staff. • Market and extend visibility and outreach to diverse student/

family communities, donors and others.

Goal 3 ENSURE SUSTAINABLE DIVERSITY

Every student is unique and success for each student must be defined and designed relative to each student’s aptitudes, interests and learning styles.

O B J E C T I V E S:

• Increase individual student attention. • Improve individual assessment of student talent, interests

and capability. • Create a more student-centered learning environment.

Goal 4 CHALLENGE STUDENTS AS INDIVIDUALS TO SUCCEED

We live in a changing world, a global economy, and an evolving technology landscape that dictates much of how careers will be defined in the future. Our goal is to nurture a well-balanced and whole student who is prepared for the journey of life ahead.

O B J E C T I V E S:

• Increase critical-thinking skills and use of metacognition. • Increase awareness of global issues and opportunities. • Provide access to an ongoing evolution of technology assets,

skills and expertise. • Support ongoing awareness of career options and career paths. • Increase financial literacy of students and families. • Develop and support communication skills. • Provide support for students to express their creativity and innovation. • Provide support for students to expand aesthetic exposure

and appreciation.

Goal 5 STRENGTHEN STUDENT PREPARATION FOR 21ST CENTURY OPPORTUNITIES

Central Catholic Priority Goals

Page 4: Cleveland Central Catholic Strategic Plan

CCCHS’s current affordable tuition makes it accessible to a wide range of populations. We also recognize however, that accessible can mean transportation and availability of campus resources. Students learn and thrive, and teachers nurture when they come together in a safe environment. Providing a safe environment for the school community is a significant priority.

O B J E C T I V E S:

• Increase financial resources for tuition assistance. • Explore and expand student transportation opportunities and needs. • Continually improve building and campus safety. • Establish and expand student training and sensitivity regarding safety procedures. • Implement before and after school access procedures to improve safety.

Goal 6 PROVIDE AN ACCESSIBLE AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Service is a hallmark of CCCHS. Community outreach provides a means for fiscal support of our families and our school, as well as a mechanism through which students establish community relationships.

O B J E C T I V E S:

• Foster a sense of service and hospitality as part of personal spirituality and holistic development.

• Clarify and increase communication concerning community engagement and involvement.

• Identify, provide, expand and communicate opportunities for giving back – to demonstrate and practice Catholic social teaching.

• Identify, provide, expand and communicate engagement opportunities for tuition credits for families with need.

• Identify, provide, expand and communicate opportunities to learn the responsibilities of citizenship and civic engagement.

Goal 7 EXPAND STUDENT ENGAGEMENT IN THE COMMUNITY

Catholic identity is the unique character that sets a Catholic school apart. The experience of faith is taught not only through formal religious education classes but also through the experience of worshiping God, embracing the Gospel message, creating a caring community and through service outreach. Recognizing our diversity and an evolving world, we will focus our efforts on the Catholic social principles of human dignity and the call to family.

O B J E C T I V E S:

• Increase visibility around school activities that promote Catholic identity and the principles of human dignity and the call to family.

• Explore, establish and expand religious educational opportunities and provide the necessary resources for their accomplishment.

• Encourage and reward student behavior that demonstrates Catholic Christian values.

Goal 8 CLARIFY AND DEMONSTRATE THE MEANING OF THE SCHOOL'S CATHOLIC IDENTITY

Central Catholic Priority Goals

Page 5: Cleveland Central Catholic Strategic Plan

In 1968, four urban Catholic high schools in Cleveland merged to form Cleveland Central Catholic High School (CCCHS). Today, from its Slavic Village neighborhood, CCCHS serves nearly 550 students. A nurturing and caring learning environment infused with Catholic social teaching serves as fertile ground for academic success, leadership training, and service to others. Cleveland Central Catholic students achieve significant matriculation and higher-education milestones, often overcoming a range of social and economic challenges. With the support of faculty and staff, families, alumni and community partners such as Third Federal Savings & Loan and the Diocese of Cleveland, Cleveland Central Catholic has advanced not only its academic, facilities and campus assets but also its reputation for excellence within the community and among the families it serves.
