NOTE TO TEACHERS, PARENTS AND EXHIBITORS FOR EXHIBITS FOR JUNIOR/SCHOOL FAIR SECTION:1. The classes herein are intended for pupils in the Elementary

and Secondary Schools or 18 years and under. 2. There are many choices of “things to make” under the guid-

ance of the teachers, but there are others that can be done at home (especially during the holidays).

3. Numbers on the left are SECTIONS. Enter as many as possible. Your exhibitor numbers will be assigned to you so use it on all of the cards, which are attached to your exhibits. If you do not have a membership number for 2018, please contact the Fair Secretary.

4. Pupils may, and we encourage you to, enter as many items as possible. Read grade or age limites in classes. Check for max size or special instructions.

5. Teachers are encouraged to pick the best out of the best in class projects.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTSJR. AMBASSADOR OF THE FAIRThe Junior Exhibitor that excels in Class 40, 41, 42 and 43 will be awarded the Jr. Ambassador medallion, a New Liskeard Fall Fair souvenir, a cash prize and a special place in the Children’s Day Parade on Friday.

The winner of the award will be contacted by 5 pm on Thursday of Fair Week and this award will be presented at the Opening Ceremonies at 7 pm.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER ARE ON YOUR EXHIBITOR FORM SO WE HAVE A CONTACT NUMBER, IF YOU ARE THE EXHIBITOR WITH THE HIGHEST POINTS.

DON’T FORGET TO FILL OUT AN ENTRY FORM. Please make a list of your exhibits with your membership number on the entry form. Your name, number, school, parents’ names and address MUST be on the entry form or prize money cannot be mailed to you. Prize money can also be picked up at the annual Awards Banquet on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Riverside Place.

There is NO ENTRY FREE required if only entering the School/Ju-nior classes, but you will still require an Exhibitor/Number and you must fill out a general Entry Form (form in the middle of book). Give this form to the Fair Secretary at the Fair office.

RULES1. All entries must be made/grown by the Exhibitor. 2. All articles must be shown for the first time at the New

Liskeard Fall Fair. 3. Only ONE entry per exhibitor in each class. 4. Articles must have entry tags attached with the Exhibitor’s

name, school, exhibitor number, parents’ names and address (the same as entry form). You may get a supply of these tags in advance by contacting the Fair Secretary, Janice Lancast-er, at 705-647-4242. They will also be available at The Match Factory after August 1, 2018.

5. School grades refer to the 2017/2018 school year. 6. Baking: only one entry per batch (siblings entering cookies/

squares etc. in the same class are only hurting themselves as the Judge can tell if they taste exactly the same and will award the prize to another exhibitor).

7. If there is only one entry in a class the Judge has the right to place it appropriately (in other words, you may not always win first place if the Judge feels that it could have been done

HOW TO PREPARE VEGETABLES FOR EXHIBITION1. Choose medium sized, regular shaped specimens, of nearly

the same size and shape as possible. 2. Cut tops off, leaving one inch.3. Choose specimens that are free from blemishes of any kind.4. Polish with a dry cloth. 5. Potatoes should be washed (polish with a dry cloth). 6. Vegetables should be shown on small foam plates or in a
