given a farewell party Wednesday a t the hcxne of Mrs. Norman Ruth by the Willing W orkers class of the Methodist church. A diicken dinner was served a t noon, for which covered dishes were also brought by members. Everybody w rote a sentence in Katherine’s honor, and she w ^ presented with a gift from the class. Mrs. Scudder left Saturday to spend the w inter w ith her nephew and his wife. Rev. and Mrs. Russell Scudder, a t Munnsville, near Stock- bridge.
Jam es Finch killed a five-point deer near his home. Lloyd Hoyt shot a large nine-point deer a t Kirksioe. I t ran past while he was working.
The Home Demonstration unit will hold their annual Christmas party w ith pinochle, gifts and re freshments a t 8 o’clock the evening of Dec. 12. The unit will m eet a t 10:30 Tuesday, Dec. 10, to hold a meeting on gifts.

Glenn B. W hitney spent the weekend a t his home. He returned Sunday to Norfolk, Va., where he expected to go out on his ship, the USS Anteres, Monday.
