5 CALL TO Steve Bartz called the meeting of the Health and Safety Committee to order at 6:02PM. 6 ORDER 7 8 ROLL CALL Members present were Pat Haskin, Alan Hanson, Dale Ernst, Jim Graeber, and Steve 9

Also present were Director of Public Works John Cole, Police Chief Al Elvins, Fire Chief 12 John Peeters, Clerk-Treasurer Amanda L. Bartz and Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Loretta 13 Wanta. 14

15 PUBLIC Julie Dentler from Music on the River asked about the cost of port-a-potties, HASKIN 16 COMMENTS explained that it is on the agenda and would be discussed later in the meeting. 17 18 Christine Vorpagel from Tomahawk Main Street stated that the application for the 19

Tomahawk Mainstreet Farm’s Market would be completed for the next agenda. CLERK 20 BARTZ stated that she thought it had been approved at a previous meeting, but would 21 check. 22

23 MINUTES HASKIN MOVED to approve the minutes from April 18, 2017 and GRAEBER seconded. 24 The VOTE was unanimous. 25 26 LICENSES 1.) Operator Licenses 27 28

GRAEBER MOVED to approve the licenses as presented and HASKIN seconded. 29 The VOTE was unanimous. 30

2.) Tomahawk Fall Ride – Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wurl-Feind-Ingman Post 2687 1 2 Clerk BARTZ there was nothing new to report, but would leave on the agenda until after 3

the event. 4 5 OTHER 1.) Purchase of Port-A-Potties for City Use and Use by Event Organizers when Available 6 BUSINESS 7 COLE stated he had checked the cost of purchasing port-a-potties for the City. Oh Jay 8

Services quoted him a cost of $659.00 for a new port-a-pottie and $400.00 a used port-9 a-pottie. Oh Jay Services also quoted a price a $75.00 per port-a-potties for delivery and 10 pumping. 11

12 CLERK BARTZ asked if the City purchased the port-a-potties what the cost for pumping 13

would be or if the City would have the capability of pumping them. COLE said he would 14 check with the Department of Natural Resources. 15

16 GRAEBER asked COLE to check into the cost for pumping for the entire season. 17 18 HASKIN MOVED to approve the purchase of five used port-a-potties for $2,000.00 from 19

Oh Jay Services, ERNST seconded. The VOTE was unanimous. 20 21 REPORTS 1.) Police Department Report – April 2017 22 23 The Health and Safety Committee reviewed the Police Department report as presented. 24 25 2.) Fire Department Report – April 2017 26 27 The Health and Safety Committee reviewed the Fire Department report as presented. 28 29 NEXT The Health and Safety Committee will meet on June 6, 2017 at 6:00PM at City 30 MEETING Hall in the Council Chambers. 31 32 ADJOURN ERNST MOVED to adjourn the meeting of the Health and Safety Committee and HASKIN 33

City of Tomahawk License and Permits Committee

Tomahawk Main Street Farmers Market Tuesdays June through October 2017 EVENT INFORMATION This event is sponsored by Tomahawk Main Street, Inc. The event will be a Famers’ Market on Tuesdays June through October 2017. The event will set up at 8:30am and end at 1:00pm. The estimated attendance will be 30-50 at a time. All required documentation has been submitted with the application including a Certificate of Insurance listing the City of Tomahawk as an additional insured for $1,000,000. The application fee of $25.00 has not yet been paid.

1. CITY RESOURCES • Fire Department – No additional services. • Public Works – No additional services. • Police Department – No additional services

2. SITE LAYOUT

• The Farmers’ Market will be located on 3rd Street between Wisconsin Ave heading north to the alley.

3. RESERVATIONS

• No reservations are required for this event.

4. GARAGE COLLECTIONS • No additional garbage/recycling containers are needed for the event.

5. RESTROOMS

• No additional restrooms are needed for this event.

6. PARKING • Event coordinator will place “No Parking” Signs on 3rd Street on Monday nights and they will

be removed after the event each week. • Parking is provided off-street and there is little to no impact on neighbors.

City of Tomahawk Health and Safety Committee

Pow Wow Days July 4, 2017 EVENT INFORMATION This event is sponsored by the Tomahawk Lions Club and is a family orientated, including a parade, fireworks, a 5k and 10k race and kids games. The event will be starting at 6:00am and ending at midnight on July 4, 2017. The estimated attendance will be 10,000. There will be food concession and alcohol sales.

All paperwork has been included with the application except a Certificate of Insurance listing the City of Tomahawk as an additional insured for $1,000,000. Event fees of $55.00 have been paid.

1. CITY RESOURCES• Fire Department –• Public Works – Personnel Costs: $1,336.96; Equipment Costs: $431.64• Police Department – Personnel Costs: $4,520.00• TOTAL ESTIMATED COSTS: $6,288.60

2. SITE LAYOUT• Parade route is attached.• 5k and 10k maps are attached.• Site layout is attached.

3. RESERVATIONS• The “Music on the River” and the “Fishing Unlimited” pavilions have been reserved for the

morning (7am to 2pm) of the 4th of July.

4. GARAGE COLLECTIONS• Tomahawk Lions Club will be providing 30 garbage bins with liners on Wisconsin Avenue.

Volunteers will be emptying the bins.• Aluminum cans are collected in separate bins.• Wastewater for food vendors will be disposed of in separate containers.

5. RESTROOMS• 34 Port-a-potties will be provided for the event.• Handwashing station are being proposed in 2017.

over WJJQ radio.
