The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department will be closed in observance of a few Holidays this summer.

Memorial Day Holiday: Monday, May 30thIndependence Day Holiday: Monday, July 4th

Labor Day Holiday: Monday, September 5th

The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department will be closed in observance of a few Holidays this summer.

Holiday Closures

As our community transitions to summer, many of us move our families and activities outdoors. The weather is warming up and so are the opportunities to get out and enjoy the many things we have going on in our parks and open spaces over the next few months.

This is the time of the year that makes Pensacola one of the greatest places to live, work and play. You can rest assured we have plenty to offer the youth such as summer camps that provide exciting activities during the summer break. Our Parks and Recreation Department offers day camps at our Neighborhood Resource Centers and more specialized camps like outdoor adventures, fishing, soccer, tennis, and volleyball just to name a few.

On those hot summer days that we know are coming, come check out one of our City pools. They will be open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.

Pensacola is a family-oriented community so we cater to families. Come watch a Blue Wahoos game as they celebrate their 5th season at Wahoos Stadium in Community Maritime Park. The Community Maritime Park will also host the Blues Angel Music’s Blues on the Bay Concert Series and the Hill-Kelly Drive-In Movie Series all summer long. We’re also very excited to be a part of something truly special when the University of West Florida Argonauts kick off their inaugural Football Season in September.

Our Parks & Recreation Department has done an excellent job of organizing these activities in this Summer Activity Guide. Our programs, activities and parks can be a great source of entertainment year round for everyone – even more so now that the days are longer and the temperatures warmer. Regardless of what you do, I encourage you to be safe, have fun and experience all we have to offer as a community.

Gull Point Performing Dancers was founded in 1975 by Terry Dillon as a nonprofit association of dancers and members that provides quality experience in theatrical dance and contributes to the cultural life of Northwest Florida. The company is an outgrowth of the fifty two-year old dance program at the City of Pensacola’s Gull Point Resource Center. The dancers perform throughout the year at many functions including Greater Gulf Coast Art Festival, Pensacola Downtown Christmas Parade, and VIP dance competition.
