Filing Dates for Local OfficesThe Following local positions will be up for election at the

2016 general election:Mayor of Vergas

Two Council Seats (4 year terms)One Council Seat (2-year term)

Council Members serve a four-year term. The Mayor serves a two-year term. Filing for these positions will begin Tuesday, August 2, 2016 and runs till Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016. Anyone interested for running, must file for office between these dates at the City Office. We will also have a special position on the ballot for a two-year term for Council Member. Anyone interested in running for the position must file between Tuesday, August 2nd thru Tuesday,

- Be eligible to vote in Minnesota- Must be 21 years of age when assuming office- Must have maintained residence in district for at least

Primary election is August 9th, 2016. Last day to pre-register for Primary will be July 19th, 2016. General Election is November 8th, 2016. Last day to pre-registration for General will be October 18th, 2016. ***Voter Registration and MN Absentee Ballot Applications available at the City Office. ***
