A TASTE OF LUXURIOUS LIVING

OT so long ago Jean Pierre Nzabahimana Nplanted his fields on a hillside in western Rwanda by scattering seed held back from the last

harvest. The seedlings grew up in clumps: Mr Nzabahimana, a lean, muscular man, uses his hands to convey a vaguely bushy shape. Harvesting them was not too difficult, since they did not produce much. This year the field nearest to his house has been cultivated with military precision. In February he harvested a good crop of maize (corn, to Americans) from plants that grew in disciplined lines, separated by precise distances which Mr Nzabahimana can recite. He then planted climbing beans in the same field. On this and on four other fields that add up to about half a hectare (one and a quarter acres) Mr Nzabahimana now grows enough to enable him to afford meat twice a month. He owns a cow and has

enya could become the first African country to tap global debt markets this year Kas it begins a bond roadshow this week, but

Eurobond financing is likely to remain out of reach for most of its peers on the continent.Bond sales from sub-Saharan Africa, which had previously been booming, are yet to start in 2016 after a stormy start to the year for commodities and currencies that has left some countries on the brink of crisis.Despite the difficulties, some African Eurobonds have been outperforming, thanks in part to the bounce in oil and metals but also on the back of some potential turnaround stories, something all investors love.Back in January investors were demanding record premiums of 620 basis points to hold African bonds rather than U.S. debt. That has now fallen back to 550 bps, with oil importers Kenya and Ivory Coast topping the list of winners An investor-friendly debt swap by Mozambique's state-run fishing firm has also helped sentiment, as has struggling metal miner Zambia starting talks with the International Monetary Fund. Now some countries could leverage the improved mood. Kenya's presentation, led by finance minister Henry Rotich, is billed as a 'non-deal' roadshow but it is likely to be at least a test of the waters. “(Kenya) could probably issue. Aside from the 8 percent budget deficit, it's a pretty good story," said Kevin Daly, a portfolio manager at Aberdeen Asset Management. "The currency is stable, domestic rates are coming down, inflation is starting to fall and growth is in the 5-6 percent range."The World Bank this year singled out Kenya as an African bright spot, with economic growth accelerating thanks to cheaper oil, a solid agriculture sector, and infrastructure investment. The yield on its existing 2024 dollar bond is down to around 7.75 percent from it 9.8 percent January high. But to warrant the extra cash, any new 10-year bond will need to have a premium of up to 50

about 180,000 Rwandan francs ($230) in the bank. Although he remains poor by any measure, he has entered the class of poor dreamers. Perhaps he will

build a shop in the village, he says. Hopefully one of his four children will become a driver or a mechanic.According to the UN Food and Agricul ture Organisat ion, Rwanda's farmers produced 792,000 tonnes of grain in 2014—more than three times as much as in 2000. Production of maize, a vital crop in east Africa, jumped sevenfold. Agricultural statistics can be dicey, African ones especially so. But Rwanda's plunging poverty rate makes these plausible, and so does the view from Gitega. Another farmer, Dative Mukandayisenga, says most of her neighbours are getting much more from their land. Perhaps only one in five persists with the old, scattershot “broadcast” sowing—and most

of the holdouts are old people.Rwanda is exceptional. But in this respect it is not all that exceptional. Cereal production tripled in Ethiopia between 2000 and 2014, although a severe drought associated with the current El Niño made for a poor harvest last year. The value of crops grown in Cameroon, Ghana and Zambia has risen by at least 50% in the past decade; Kenya has done almost as well.Millions of African farmers like Mr Nzabahimana have become more secure and better-fed as a result of better-managed, better-fertilised crops grown from hybrid seeds. They are demonstrating that small farmers can benefit from improved techniques. Despite some big, much-publicised land sales to

foreign investors, almost two-thirds of African farms are less than a hectare in their extent, so this is good news. Progress need not mean turfing millions of smallholders off the land, as some had feared—though by making them richer it may yet give them and their children the means to move, should they wish. For the time being, though, more than half of the adult workers south of the Sahara are employed in agriculture; in Rwanda, about four-fifths are. With so many farmers and not much heavy industry, boosting agricultural productivity is among the best ways of raising living standards across the continent. And there is a long way to go. Sub-Saharan Africa's farms remain far less productive than Latin American and Asian ones. The continent as a whole exports less farm produce than Thailand. The revolution will not be broadcastSince 1961 the total value of all agricultural production in Africa has risen fourfold. This is almost exactly the improvement seen in India, which sounds encouraging; after all, India had a “green revolution” during that time. But whereas Indian farmers got far higher grain yields per hectare, in Africa much of the new production just came from new land. In the early 1960s sub-Saharan Africa had 1.5m square kilometres given over to arable farming; now it uses 800,000 square kilometres more.Another thing African farming had more of was people. Even today, when population growth has slowed in rural Asia and Latin America, in rural Africa it is still 2%. More people meant more workers, which can mean more yield from a farm in absolute terms. But it also meant more mouths to feed. Africa's population grew more steeply than India's, and as a result production per person fell in much of the continent during the late 20th century. The explanations for Africa's difficulties begin with geology. Much African bedrock is ancient, dating back to before the continent's time at the heart of a huge land mass known as Gondwanaland. For hundreds of millions of years Africa has seen little of the tectonic activity that provides fresh rock for the wind and rain to grind into fertile soils. There is some naturally fertile land in the south and around the East African Rift, which runs through Rwanda. But much of the interior is barely worth farming

hroughout modern history the wristwatch has become a symbol that defines the wearer. Watches are more than just a simple way to keep track of the T

time of day, they are a statement that you make to the world about what sort of man you are in reality. Since men do not traditionally wear as much jewelry as women, it is especially important to make sure that the watch you choose is sending out the right message to everyone around you. When you choose a watch you are choosing an extension of your identity, so it important to carefully consider what watch will convey your style and personality. To help you select the perfect watch we've sifted through the brands to give you an idea of what general personality characteristics these brands are associated with, but it is up to you to pick out the exact style you want from these brands. Let's take a look at what sort of fashion statement men are making by wearing certain watches. If you see a man wearing a Timex watch you can tell that he has chosen it for its classic look. Timex is an old American brand that gives off the impression that you are cultured and you don't throw your money around. A man wearing a Timex is often dressed well, but not in fancy clothing, he gives off a reliable look that can be very attractive to certain types of people.A man who wears a Casio around on a day-to-day basis can go one of two ways. He either leads a very active lifestyle which could require a durable wristwatch on short notice, or he more practical and cares less about the fashion statement he is making and more about the idea of telling time accurately. The Casio G-shock line is another ambiguous watch that some men choose to wear. A large gaudy face can be a display of status among some younger crowds, but paired with a suit shows a lack of fashion senseThe classic Rolex is a polarizing time piece. Since everyone knows that Rolex watches can be very expensive, the fashion statement they give off comes down to more subtle factors such as how the man wears and advertises his watch.

GREAT OFFERS

A Rolex can be a very impressive fashion statement if the man wearing it doesn't feel the need to show it off to everyone that he meets. A strong silent type will come off as very attractive with this watch on his wrist by underplaying how much it means to him. A Rolex, however, can be a bit of a fashion faux pas if worn with the attitude that you should want to show it off to anyone who you encounter. This is especially obnoxious in an era where people have

easy access to the time due to smart phones. This type of behavior can turn a classy watch into an undesirable piece by making a man reminiscent of a used car salesman trying to hide something behind a shiny exterior. An IWC wristwatch is a very classic, rugged, and dependable piece to complement the outfit of someone who wants to sport a more traditional look. The IWC wristwatch can be dressed either up or down depending on the environment that you are going to be in, so it really is a watch for all occasions. This is a great all around watch in order to create a positive fashion statement for yourself, but you don't want to need to think if your match watches every time you change outfits. Each brand of watch will be the right pick for a different personality type, but you just need to take time to consider what exactly you need in a watch. Some men will look best in a Casio while others were born to wear a Rolex. Something to keep in mind when picking out a watch however is the audience who will see you wearing it. Are you trying to impress customers, a date, family or just want to know the time when you are scuba diving? Sometimes the most complicated watches have very simple looking exteriors. Most people would not appreciate the value of such a watch, but in a certain crowd it could be quite the conversation piece. In order to ensure that you are making the fashion statement of your choice take some time to consider the image that you want to cultivate for yourself. Once you have a solid idea of who you want to be, choose a watch that fits that persona well and gives off the right impression. The right watch can pull an entire outfit together. Let your wristwatch make your defining statement for you.

There are a few things you will need to buy if you do not already have, before you embark on this gardening journey. Planting tools such as a spade, a hoe, gardening g l o v e s , a g a r d e n h o s e , a wheelbarrow or bucket and a watering just to mention a few. You might also need to invest in a hat that will keep you shielded from the sun on those hot days.

It is important to know when long and short rains are so as to keep alert to the weather patterns in your area. Read on, for a few tips on how to get started:

Location.

Picking a spot where you would like to have your kitchen garden is important, as this will determine whether your plants will strive or thrive. A sunny spot, one that gets a good amount of sun will do. Soil type is also key as you want soil that drains well, i.e it doesn’t drain too fast or hold water for too long, so loam soil is ideal. You’ll also need to make sure that the soil is healthy enough to sustain life so

What to plant.

When deciding what to plant, you must really do your homework and get to know what the plants need in terms of water, s o i l f e r t i l i t y a n d temperature; however as a first timer it’s advisable to start small and plant what you like to eat. Growing what you like to eat is rewarding as you will tend to look forward to a bountiful harvest. Crops such as chilies, rosemary, sukumawiki, spinach, cabbage and tomatoes will do well. You could plant these crops from either seeds or seedlings, though seeds a r e cheape r t hough they’ll take longer to grow.

This is easier than you think. To start with, you

need to keep your so i l hea l thy by adding mulch in the form of leaves, cut grass or dead weeds to it. This wards off pests and helps keep moisture in the soil. It will also keep your little ones away f rom wander ing into the garden and playing with the soil and your newly planted crops.

The most fulfilling t h i n g a b o u t a kitchen garden is that you not only g e t t o s e e t h e transformation of seeds to healthy plants right before your very eyes, but you also get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. uys, guys, guys. Listen, it is bad enough you've G

been reduced to driving a m in i -van , chang ing diapers and making baby noises. We get it. You're a dad. You've sowed and reaped your seed, there isn't much more for you to prove. Now what is even worse is that you are a father, and this whole parenting thing takes up a lot of your free free time. Obviously both genders are guilty of lowering their personal grooming when the baby comes around, but it shouldn't s t a y t h i s w a y permanently. Once the first year of sleepless nights is over, it is time to r e - j o i n a d u l t h o o d . Perhaps even before that. My reasoning for this is simple: we are supposed to be setting an example for the kids. If you show your kids life is over after they procreate when they are children, imagine if that is how they live their lives when they grow-up. Depressing? Huh?The real kicker is when

we let our physical appearance slip, so does our general confidence and happiness. Kids pick up very easily on their parents' mood. Ultimately if you are unhappy this will affect them and not in a good way. It is good to focus a lot of energy on parenting, but we still have to hold onto our adulthood to make us happy to. Part of a responsibility is to maintain our own personal happiness. So here are five very easy ways that you can look less like a hobo and more like a father. As a bonus, if you are with the baby mama or with another lady they will enjoy seeing you get all cleaned up. You're welcome.

1. Just say no to sweat pants outside of the houseIf you are not working out, sick, working outside or lounging around the house sweat pants are not appropriate everyday attire. Sweat pants look tacky no matter where you get them from, and it makes you look like you've given up all hope of ever looking like a respectable adult again. They also allow you to put on extra pounds easily without ever notice. I don't believe I tell grown men this, but put on some freaking pants!2. No holesHoles in pants, shirts, socks or in any item of clothing is a sure sign it is time to retire it. I don't care if jeans with holes in the knees are popular for young kids, you are an adult now. Besides how are you going to tell your kids not to wear clothes with holes in them if you do it all of the time yourself? Trust me, if you are past your late twenties holes in clothes just make you look like that creepy old guy that is too afraid to let go of his youth and embrace his real age, and that isn't a flattering look on anyone.

3. The beardSome guys look really great in beards. It is even fashionable with the younger crowd right now. Honestly though, some of you just look like you just stepped out of shack in the middle of nowhere Others of you just can't grow a beard, and it is time to accept that as an inevitable fact. There is nothing worse than a patchy and pathetic beard on any male face. If you look like one of these people, it is time to either maintain it or shave it off.4. Shoes besides sneakersYou should own at least one pair of shoes that isn't a pair of sneakers, flip-flops, or reserved for funerals and weddings. You could even go wild and own two pairs of shoes that aren't casual! There are lots of comfortable, casual options out there for guys. If you don't want to spend that much just shop for sales, or you can ask your wife, girlfriend or mother too. In fact, you can even shop for shoes without going anywhere thanks to the internet. 5. T-shirts that say stupid things on themOkay, we all get it, you are a guy with a sense of humor. You are also a grown man though, so you may need to mature your t-shirt collection a little bit as you age. Wearing t-shirts with funny jokes o n t h e

m some of the time is okay, and your kids may even enjoy that their dad is a goof. However, t-shirts with dumb stuff on them should not pre-dominate your wardrobe unless you want to look like a joke all of the time. Try investing in some shirts with no jokes and no logos on them, so we can focus on you, not what your shirt says. 6. Own more than one dress shirtWe guys got it easy when it comes to fashion. A button-up shirt is considered more than acceptable to most events. Make sure that you own more than one button-up shirt. Also, try to wear it more than once or twice a year. A little bit of

variety in butt-up shirts goes a long way in making you look like you dress up at least some of the time. It also allows you to change colors to match the weather. You should at the very least have one long sleeve and one short sleeve button-up shirt. Trust me, wearing a black button-up shirt during a hot, s u m m e r d a y i s n o t a comfortable experience, but it also makes you look bad.7. A watchWith the invention of smart phones no one actually needs a watch, but it still is a classic a c c e s s o r y t h a t c a n b e fashionable. I'm not talking about an ugly sports watch, but a classic design that looks a bit spiffy. As a bonus, you won't have to check your smart phone every time you need to check the time, and checking the time is something that happens a lot more often when you are a father. You can wear it all of the time without thinking about it, and it looks like you are a classy guy (even if anything could be further from the truth)

nly seven banks out of 42 banks Ohold 80 percent of Kenya's population cash raising concerns of liquidity among Kenyan Banks.

This is according Central Bank of Kenya Governor Patrick Njoroge who says other banks are starved of liquidity.

Njoroge says liquidity management issues have not started in the recent past, but has been going on for a long time.

"The problem did not start with Imperial Bank, it predates all these issues in the sector, if you look at the interbank market for instance some banks will trade at reasonably favourable rates, but when they lend to another smaller bank it's like four times the rates, there is this sort of segmentation in the market. So you have some banks are playing in the wading pool while others are in the swimming pool," he illustrated.

He says liquidity needs to move much

more smoothly to all the banks.

"You cannot tell me even with their risk profile an institution is four times the price to another institution, there is something wrong with that model," he said.

This comes even as banks struggle to m a k e p r o f i t w i t h i n c r e a s e i n n o n p e r f o r m i n g l o a n s b e c o m i n g prevalent in the sector.

Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich had earlier proposed that banks core capital be raised from Sh1 billion to Sh5 billion within the next three years but Governor Njoroge is still opposed to the move.

"It's not that we should have a minimum capital of Sh1 billion or Sh5 billion or Sh10 billion those are all the wrong questions, the question is, are the institution resilient? Can they sustain shocks? - are they efficient," he stated.

He said banks should diversify their investments and lending portfolio so that they have more options and are less likely to be destabilized by one shock in a particular sector.

"This is the time that banks need to think through their own business, it's a transition point where they need to strengthen their business model and also consolidate with other institutions, find strategic investors that will make the bank more resilient," he added.

Kenya has a total of 42 commercial banks, 1 mortgage finance company, 12

m i c r o f i n a n c e b a n k s , 8 representative offices of foreign banks, 86 foreign exchange bureaus, 14 money remittance providers and 3 credit reference bureaus.Cytonn Investments maintain that Kenya is over-banked with a relatively high ratio of banks to total population, with 42 commercial banks serving of 44 million people, compared to Nigeria's 22 for 180 million and South Africa's 19 for 55 million. This has led to the consolidation of banks through acquisitions such as Giro bank by I&M Holdings.

According to the Cytonn Investment Banking sector 2015 report, Kenya banks recorded much lower earnings g r o w t h , d r i v e n b y t h e c h a l l e n g i n g e c o n o m i c environment in 2015, with the high interest rates which r e d u c e d c r e d i t u p t a k e especially by the private sector while at the same time having a profound effect on deposit m o b i l i z a t i o n s a s m o s t depositors greatly preferred to invest in government securities at the time

The report indicate that the l i s t e d b a n k i n g s e c t o r ' s aggregate gross loans and advances grew by 17 percent to Sh1.8 trillion in December 2015 from Sh1.5 trillion in 2014 while deposits grew 14.5

7 Banks Hold 80 Percent Of Kenya's Population Cashpercent to Sh2 trillion in December 2015 from Sh1.8 trillion in 2014.

Total assets grew 14.9 percent in December 2015 to Sh2.8 trillion, from Sh2.4 trillion in 2014.

"Since 2010 the aggregate of listed banks profit after tax has grown at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 13.5 percent. Deposits have grown at a CAGR of 13.5 percent, with loans and advances having outpaced deposit growth at a CAGR of 19.4 percent," the report states.

As a result of the high interest rate environment in 2015 and with increased supervision of banks as a following the exposure to Imperial Bank and Dubai Bank, banks have built up capital and other provisionary requirements with the most notable being the increase in the listed banks' loan loss provisions by 85.4 percent .

This has led to an increase in the cost to income ratios of banks. The non-performing loans for the year also rose as a result of the expensive costs of financing loans.

"The closure of Imperial Bank as a result of "unsafe and unsound practices", combined with the recent suspension of the CEO and senior executives of National Bank, pending an internal audit, has raised questions over the state of corporate governance in the Kenyan banking sector, as well as the ability of regulatory authorities such as CBK and CMA to effectively monitor banking practices," the report indicates.

Believe in yourself. I am a firm believer that self-belief takes you places and makes you seek opportunities you never thought you would. You must have a 'you can do it' mentality because no one will ever do it for you. Remember as you work, you are either working towards achieving your dream or helping someone achieve their dream. Create a balance and let your efforts earn you success.

Define success. What does success mean to you? Does it mean scoring an A, getting an MBA, being financially stable, establishing a family, owning a home etc. Success depends on your own ability and determination to work hard. Define your success and work towards achieving it.

Set realistic goals. Most of us get excited and set 'big unrealistic' goals forgetting that we need to make sure they are realistic and attainable. Start small as you look to setting and achieving bigger goals. No goal or milestone is too small or insignificant. Additionally, learn to set short-term, mid-term and long-term goals. I always tell my employees that setting 'smaller' short-term goals will help you achieve the greater goals because they help you track the progress towards achieving your overall goal(s).

Seize opportunities. Make the best of your environment and create a livelihood for yourself.

Have the right attitude. Thomas Jefferson once said that nothing can stop a man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal, while nothing on earth can help a man with the wrong attitude. Your attitude will determine the amount of effort you will put in achieving success. It will also help you carry out your role effectively and to do more than you have been assigned. Your attitude is what will guide you when times get tough and when failure occurs.

Go the extra mile. The difference between being ordinary and being extraordinary is that extra effort. Learn to do more than is expected or have been assigned.

Don't be shy to ask for help. Two heads are better than one and your weakness is someone else's point of strength. Help one another and learn to swallow your pride and ask where you need help.

Surround yourself with the best. Have friends who will help you succeed and influence you positively. Don't waste your life and opportunities given with people who are going nowhere.

Focus on the future. Don't be mesmerized or discouraged by the life you live or once lived. Use it instead to work hard because if you don't build a solid life today, you won't find it in the future.

Build your character. Be the person people can admire and believe in. The 'good life' belongs to those who make the decision to craft and direct their own life. Command your space and gain respect for being who you are and doing what you do.

Look out for challenges. Don't be so comfortable that sometimes your ambition to do better diminishes. Challenges will help you get out of your comfort zone and enable you to be creative. Get out and challenge your mind. It is the only way you will grow.

Taking calculated risks also falls under this category. Just be wise about every move you make.

Tips To Unlock Your Potential. his is something that is not only common with TGeneration Y but with those among us who are

always looking for the easy way out.The problem with Generation Y is that they seem to want everything quick forgetting that great things take time to mature. Values such as hard work are long forgotten by this Generation and quickly replaced with dreams of overnight success. I agree that there are those who will take a shorter time to become successful, but majority are the products of hard work and sacrifice. We all hunger and desire for a better life but you must understand that this takes time to cultivate. But how prepared are you for success? What principles do

you abide b y t h a t w i l l contribute t o success? These are some of the things that you need t o t h i n k a b o u t . Opportuni t i e s come and g o . Failure to

prepare for success will only deter your progress. .Young people, there is no such thing as overnight success. Focus on creating wealth that will sustain your livelihood and create a lasting legacy. Even those who win the jackpot must invest their money for sustainability purposes. If not, then it becomes a total waste because you enjoy the pleasure of spending money that has not been accounted for.Success accompanied by a lack of preparedness

disappears quickly. Remember, if it's too easy then it will definitely disappear as fast as it came. Here are some of the tips that have helped me and continue to help me in the journey of success.Plan your day. Have a list of tasks that you need to do and give each task a timeline. This will create discipline enabling you to track your progress and achieve as much as you can. Planning your day will also give you time to schedule impromptu meetings or give you some 'free' time to do as you please.Get up early so that you have ample time to go over your current read and get news updates before you go to workContinuously pursue knowledge. You can never get enough skills or have enough information. The world keeps progressing and you must research and gain the necessary knowledge to keep up with the changing trends. You must constantly re-invent yourself and your business if you want to succeed. A wise man once said, 'you cannot do today's job with yesterday's methods and be in business tomorrow.'Work smart. Whatever you do can either bring you closer to your goal or away from it. Do not get caught up in doing little tasks that do not add value to you. Write down a list of things you need to do and arrange them according to importance or simplicity. This helps you save time and begin with what is familiar to you.No opportunity goes to waste. Make the best use of every opportunity and prepare well for it. It's unfortunate that most of us do not even have an elevator pitch and end up wasting opportunities when they meet prominent business people. Remember, it's your first and probably your last chance to make an impression. Do the best you can

The Fallacy Of Overnight SuccessIt's your second year or third year in business, things seem to be going well, you are beginning to make a good amount of profit and life seems to be going great. You look back at your business plan and model and it looks good. However, the market begins to change, everything has taken a plunge, inflation is the order of the day, elections are nearing and everyone seems to be hoarding money/resources. You begin to wonder if at all you are ready or had planned for this? Can your business sustain itself for the next six months; will you be able to retain all or most of your employees? It is important to plan your business and business model in a way that will factor in all possibilities. You can play the 'What if' game or generally look for loopholes to help you get solutions before disaster strikes. Every time I am out to make serious money, I figure someone somewhere is playing the 'what if' card on me. They think something unexpected may happen resulting to failure.More often than not, they are right. However, a real business man/woman is able to spot this long before and either plan for it or get his/her money out and into another investment.Every business is a risk taken. It's vital to consider where else you can find the extra income. I once wrote about not placing your eggs in one basket as a means to financial freedom. You need to take note of that and make it happen. Let's face it; you are not a professional footballer or athlete whose personal Manager has made plans to secure their future even after their retirement. As a matter of fact, there are some who become bankrupt once their careers are over or once they retire because they never thought to add another string to their bow (another source of income).Diversification is the name and rule of the game if you want to be wealthy. Strive to have more than once source of income, broaden your investments. That way, whatever happens in a 'What if' scenario, you will be secure.Be wise, whether you are in business or employed. Do not wait to act once you get fired or retrenched; it might be too late. Sustain your livelihood by letting your money work for you

verything has to match, wearing a statement piece and buying Ejewels before the dress are just

some of the most common mistakes brides make when picking out their wedding accessories.

Despite having multiple focal points throughout the day, from the dress and colour scheme to the location and menu, many brides underestimate the power of accessories and the dangers of getting it wrong.

1. Upstaging the dressNo matter what theme or style you go for, remember to never upstage the dress. In years to come the question on people's lips will be "what was your dress like?" not "what was your jewellery like?" so make sure the jewels play a supporting role and don't take centre stage.

2. Buying accessories before the dressBuying the jewellery before the dress is a risky business. For many brides, the dress they end up choosing is often

completely different from the one they thought they'd wear, so buying accessories - whether shoes, tiaras or jewellery - before you know the style of your dress could leave you with an overall image that looks incomplete.

3. Not considering coloured accessoriesD o n ' t r u l e o u t c o l o u r e d accessories. Adding a pop of colour with jewellery is a subtle way to liven up a classic neutral colour scheme. Alternatively, if you have a themed wedding, accessories are the perfect way t o c o n t i n u e t h a t t h e m e throughout.instead and your bridal style will always look fashionable and glamorous.

4. Having everything matchingNot everything has to match - the key thing to remember is that this is your day and you need to bring your own flare. Brides often get

given jewellery by family members to wear on the day and this should be embraced but finding accessories to match can be difficult particularly if it is an old family heirloom.

5. Forgetting that sometimes less is moreSometimes less is more and it isn't always necessary to have a tiara, veil, necklace, earrings, bracelets and a bag - not to mention the must-have flowers, dress, shoes and ring! Pick the right amount of accessories and don't go overboard. Be sure to try them all on together before the big day and don't be afraid to scale back.

6. Getting carried away with the price tag

Buying accessories that break the bank just isn't necessary. Shop around before you make your final decision and you're bound to find something in

your price range. There is sometimes little difference between what jewellers call "wedding jewellery" and their other items, apart from the price so don't feel pressured into buying wedding collections; the normal jewellery sets can be just as glamorous.

6. Not thinking beyond the wedding day Let's face it, you are unlikely to wear your wedding dress or shoes after the big day, but why not choose jewellery that will look just as good afterwards? Choosing jewellery that is versatile will ensure that you use it again and make the most of your budget.
