SERVING WITH CADENCE INTERNATIONAL • SUMMER 2020 • NAVAL STATION ROTA
INTRODUCTIONLast summer reminded me that I have wanted to do ministry since I was young. I am excited for another chance to work with students through Cadence International. The chance to go back offers the opportunity to reconnect with students to deepen relationships and form new ones.
My week will be centered around the students. I will be available to be with the girls for coffee or pizza. I will lead small groups for the middle and high school girls. Youth group and a fun event will happen weekly. One week will be spent at camp. This is a chance for students to get out of their normal routine and learn about God.
I will also be attending on-base Chapel on Sundays. I will participate with the adult ministry, The Villa Hospitality House on Friday evenings. It is a pot-luck style, come-as-you-are ministry. It is open to anyone, including those asking questions all the way to mature believers. This ministry is focused on active duty servicemembers and their families. It is a time of growth, refreshment, and refocusing on the Lord for me. Truly, those in this ministry have become a second family.
ABOUT CADENCE“Beneath the uniform is a person God loves, with whom we are delighted to share the gospel and our lives.” David Schroeder, President
Cadence International exists to minister to military personnel, their spouses, and dependents. Many of those serving in the armed forces are in some of the most strategic moments of their lives—moments of receptivity, of soul-searching, of discovery, and of life transformation. It is in
these moments that Cadence has the honor of sharing the gospel and their lives with military people and their families. What a privilege!
FINANCESI am trying to raise my funds by May 1. Please prayerfully consider partnering with me to meet that goal. I am looking for monthly donors, as I have accepted a full-time position with Cadence in the Fall. If you are unable to partner with me monthly, one-time donations are appreciated.
As I prepare, I would love to hear from you! Feel free to ask any questions about me, the trip, or Cadence International. I would also appreciate any stories, advice, or encouragement you have.

IMPACT STORY FROM LAST YEARLast summer I had the amazing opportunity to serve with Cadence in Spain. The highlight was leading another student, Caroline*, to Christ. We only met because God orchestrated it.
Caroline shared, “Euroventure (summer camp) was one of the best weeks of my life. Ms. Ciera made it an even more life changing experience for me! On the night that I accepted Christ, she was there for me and prayed with me. If it wasn’t for her help, I would have been lost in how to get there. She helped bring me closer to God and for that I am very grateful.”
This was such a joy. It was only possible because of God’s work in her life and the faithful dedication of her youth leaders to plant seeds. All glory be to God.
