TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP, held at the Claude-Robillard centre in
Montreal, on February 24, 2018.
The 2018 Chong Lee Cup Taekwondo Championship is dedicated to
the memory of Grand Master Chong Soo
Lee, the founder of taekwondo in Canada. Grand Master Chong Lee
left us on July 5, 2017, however his
teachings, values, and mentorship will live on forever, in all
of us. The 2018 Chong Lee Cup Taekwondo
Championship will honor our Grand Master’s legacy.

Hommage au Grand Maître Chong Soo Lee
Le 5 juillet, 2017, la communauté globale du taekwondo a perdu
une légende, Grand Maître
Chong Soo Lee.
La coupe Chong Lee sera dédié à la vie de notre Grand Maître et
à son esprit invincible. Le
Grand Maître Chong Soo Lee disait toujours le taekwondo c’était
“un mode de vie“. Ses
enseignements nous ont appris à tous d’être plus gentil et être
plus généreux; d’être plus
patient et empatique; de s’efforcer d’atteindre le plus haut
niveau et d’accomplir de grandes
choses; de pousser au-delà de nos limites; et le plus important,
donner le mieux de soi-
même à tous ce que l’on fait jusqu’à notre dernier souffle, tout
comme le Grand Maître l’a
fait.
Un dernier salut sera donné durant le tournoi, il y aura un
hommage rendu au Grand
Maître Chong Soo Lee vers 13h00, il y aura en son honneur une
petite présentation, à tous
les entraîneurs et maîtres nous vous prions de bien vouloir
apporter votre propre dobok.

Tribute to Grand Master Chong Soo Lee
On July 5, 2017, the global taekwondo community lost a Legend,
Grand Master Chong Soo
Lee.
This year’s Chong Lee Cup will be a tribute to the life of our
Grand Master, and his
indomitable spirit. Grand Master Chong Soo Lee always stated
that Taekwondo was “A
way of Life”. His teachings taught us all to be kinder and more
giving; to be more patient
and empathetic; to strive for the highest levels of greatness;
to push beyond our limits; and
most importantly, to give the best of our selves to everything
we do until our last breaths,
just like our Grand Master did.
As a final salute, a video tribute will be played at 1pm. We
kindly ask that all masters and
coaches bring their doboks for the ceremony.
Thank you in advance to all the coaches, athletes, parents and
volunteers for their assistance
in helping us make this years Chong Lee Cup a celebration of our
Grand Master Chong Soo
Lee’s life.

Dear friends,
Chong Lee Taekwondo School will be hosting its annual taekwondo
tournament at “Centre Claude Robillard”
on February 24th
2018. As a Montreal Police Officer and as a student at Chong Lee
Taekwondo, I would like to
extend my sincere congratulations to all the athletes for their
preparation and participation in the Chong Lee
Taekwondo Cup Tournament. Your hard work and involvement has not
gone unrecognized and will certainly
contribute in making this event a successful one.
Chong Lee Taekwondo is an institution with extraordinary staff
that is dedicated with heart and soul to the
achievement and advancement of young athletes. The school
continuously encourages their young students to
persevere in all they do, to combat drug abuse and the
importance of resolving conflicts in a non-violent
manner. Moreover, Grand Master Evangelos Lygeros & his
associates constantly prepare our kids for success in
school, business, and everyday life challenges. Thank-you Grand
Master Evangelos Lygeros, to your spouse
Sheila Lee and all your associates for the positive impact your
institution has on the youths of today as well as
for your determination in promoting a better way of life.
A special thought goes out to our Grand Master Chong Soo Lee,
also known as the father of Canadian
taekwondo, for building this solid foundation within the
taekwondo family. His recent passing has left many
heartbroken. We all admired the way Grand Master Lee described
things with such clarity, style and attention to
the finest detail. He was passionate about taekwondo and became
a role model for many within the taekwondo
community. Grand Master Chong Soo Lee will never be forgotten
and will always remain in our hearts. He will
always be remembered as a man of good heart, respect and honour.
His values, which include perseverance,
courtesy, integrity and respect, are the guidelines at Chong Lee
Taekwondo School today where Grand Master
Evangelos Lygeros, his wife Sheila and their associates
continuously enforce them. These qualities will
nonetheless contribute to a more healthy and civil future.
Thank-you Chong Lee Taekwondo school for contributing in making
Montreal a better and safer place and best
wishes for your continued success! To all the participants, once

Le protège buccal (transparent ou blanc) obligatoire à partir de
CADET (pour les couleurs) et pour tous les POOM et
DAN.
Mouth guard (white or transparency) mandatory from CADET
(colored belts) and for all POOM and DAN.
Le plastron réversible (bleu ou rouge) de grandeur appropriée et
du modèle couvrant les épaules et le dos du participant.
Body pad (blue or red) with appropriate size and cover shoulders
and the back.
Les protèges avant-bras, sous le dobuk. Les protecteurs en coton
sont permis pour les groupes d’âge U7 et U9

Foot instep covering up top of the foot for all color belts,
socks are allowed. ITF foot instep protectors are not allowed.
Cotton foot insteps are allowed for age group U7 and U9 ONLY.
Pour la catégorie JEUNE (division 2 et 1) CADET ET JUNIOR (jaune à
noire) et toutes les divisions ÉLITES et B, les bas Daedo sont
obligatoires pour l’utilisation des plastrons électroniques. Ils
seront vendus sur place par la FQT. Les plastrons électroniques
seront fournis par la FQT pour toutes ses divisions et ses groupes
d’âges. For YOUTH (division 2 & 1) CADET & JUNIOR (yellow
to black belt) and all ELITES division & B, Daedo socks are
mandatory for use with electronic body pads. They will be sold
by the FQT on site. Electronic body pads will be
provided by the FQT for these age groups & divisions.
