Authentic ExperiencesOur extensive experience and local expertise means we can take you to places rarely

visited and those you have always dreamed of exploring. We have been blazing trails into

this ever-developing continent for 18 years, and pride ourselves in delivering authentically

Asian experiences. On our tours, you'll meet local children, witness social dance classes

and games in leafy city parks, and meet families in the traditional hutongs. Travel to the

countryside to learn about the way of life of minority farmers and villagers – there will be

endless opportunities to meet local people and see a lifestyle so different to your own.

We continue to redefine travel to Asia, and are proud to offer the widest variety of tours to

this amazing country.

Regional Flavour

Meals included in our tours are planned to

give you a genuine taste of the regions we

visit. We make sure that the food on our

tours is safe, fresh, features minimal spice

and includes plenty of vegetables. Breakfast

is a combination of local and western food,

usually served buffet style at the hotel

you are staying in. Lunches and dinners

consist of traditional cuisine and are served

at reputable local restaurants. Highlights

may include a dumpling dinner in Xian,

Peking duck in Beijing, and east meets west

fusions in Hong Kong.

Travel in Comfort

The transport selected as part of your

tour is intended to combine convenience

and comfort with an enjoyably authentic

travel experience. You will benefit from

our seat-and-a-half policy on our coaches,

allowing you to watch incredible scenery in

comfort. Our Group Tours are predominantly

conducted using air conditioned coaches,

internal flights, trains and various types of

boat. See page 37.

Tipping

Made EasyWe handle the tipping so you don’t have to.

We have a simple tipping system whereby

all Group Tour passengers contribute to a

kitty, paid to the National Escort, who then

distributes it throughout the trip. Tipping is

not included on any of our Private Tours

or Stopovers, but we will suggest

appropriate amounts.

We Love

Solo TravellersOur group tours are a great opportunity to share

your experiences with like-minded people. We

welcome plenty of solo travellers on our tours,

and receive great feedback from them about the

friendly and sociable atmosphere of our groups.

Even better, if you are a single traveller and are

willing to share a room, you won’t have to pay a

single supplement.

maintain and improve our high standards. We also love to hear your travel stories

and discover your holiday highlights.

Well organised and

ran like clockwork“We have just returned from our tour and wanted to say how

much we enjoyed our holiday.

Special thanks go to Tony, our national guide whose sense of

humour, patience and professional attitude were exemplary.

We packed so much into the 12 days but everything was

well organised and ran like clockwork. All the guides worked

incredibly hard and are a credit to Wendy Wu Tours…The

Yangtze cruise provided a welcome respite to relax and enjoy

the beautiful scenery and to learn about the construction of the

Three Gorges Dam.”

Pam and Maurice Davis

Wonders of China, Oct 2014

Organisation was first class“We have just returned last week from our trip. The

organisation was first class. The great success of the trip

really owes a huge amount to our national guide Link Lee. I am

sure the rest of our party will echo my words when I say

he wasn't just good he was outstanding. He was an absolute

mine of information. He worked so hard to make our holiday.

We have been on a number of escorted tours in various parts of

the world and had some very good guides but I would say that

Link Lee tops the lot!”

Mr Keith Hunt, booked with Acomb Travel

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS THINK OF US

We recommend Wendy Wu Tours“The hotels were excellent and the food everywhere was an absolute joy.

All our guides were superb, very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. Our

Halong Bay cruise was the highlight of the holiday. The Cooking School

was very enjoyable and the choice of restaurants for the lunchtime

meals we all agreed would never have been discovered if we had been

travelling independently. We would definitely recommend

Wendy Wu Tours and will save up to do another one soon!”

standards to those we are used to in South

Africa. We therefore ask that you take care;

pay attention at all times and use your

common sense.

Q. Is Tipping Compulsory?

A. Tipping is a necessary part of the tourism

industry worldwide. For your convenience,

total compulsory tipping amounts (including

the Yangtze Cruise element) are stated on

each Group Tour page (subject to change).

If you are taking a tour without a Yangtze

Cruise, tipping in USD will be collected

by your National Escort on arrival in each

country and distributed on your behalf. If you

are taking a tour which includes a Yangtze

Cruise, the total amount listed on the tour

pages will be collected in two parts:

1) A USD amount, paid to your National

Escort on arrival in each country, as above;

2) A service levy in local currency (RMB)

to be paid upon boarding the Cruise

vessel. An additional, discretionary tipping

amount payable in RMB may be paid to the

River Guide or Cruise Director. Porterage

is included on our Group Tours to China

(from the coach to the lobby of each hotel).

For tours with fewer than 10 passengers,

tipping will be slightly higher than stated on

the group tour pages. On Private Tours and

Extensions, tipping is discretionary, we will

advise recommended amounts. The specific

break down for each currency will be

outlined in your final documentation.

The booking form and passport copy need to be completed and send with proof of payment to Wendy Wu Tours. Payment of the deposit does not secure the rate of exchange. No cheque payments will be accepted for deposits or bookings made within 60 days prior to departure. Wendy Wu Tours reserves the right to correct any errors in rates quoted or calculated or any omissions made at any time during your booking. Any verbal quote given is an indication only of the inal price and is subject to conirmation in writing.

RECEIPT OF DEPOSIT Receipt of deposit will be taken as an understanding by Wendy Wu Tours that the customer has read and agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth in this brochure.

BALANCE OF PAYMENT The balance of the holiday cost must be received by us not less than 60 days prior to departure. This date will be shown on the conirmation invoice. Reminders are not sent. However, in line with most major operators, we will make a charge of 4% for deposits and balances paid by credit card. Failure to pay in full by the due date may result in a late payment fee of R600. If we do not receive all payments due in full on time, we are entitled to assume that you wish to cancel your booking. In this case, we will be entitled to keep all deposits paid or due at that date.

AIRPORT TAXES All packages that are inclusive of lights will be subject to airport taxes and will be in addition to the cost of the tour. As fuel prices luctuates, so too has the amount the airlines charge for these taxes. This amount is detailed against every tour featured in this brochure and will also be advised to you at the time of your booking and is subject to change until your airline ticket is issued. Some countries also charge an additional departure tax when leaving the country, which is not included in the International airport tax amount, but this amount will be advised at time of booking.

IF YOU WISH TO CHANGE YOUR BOOKING If, after our conirmation invoice has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, we will endeavour to make these changes, but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes to be made must be from the lead name on the booking or your Travel Agent. You will be asked to pay an administration charge as set out below per person and any further cost we incur together with any costs or charges incurred or imposed by any of our suppliers in making this alteration. Examples include:

• Minor amendments to the tour booked – R300

• Minor amendments made within 30 days of departure – R600

• Transferring between tours or changing departure date – R600

• Transferring between tours or changing departure date within 60 days of departure is not permitted and cancellation fees will apply

• Reissue of airline tickets – R600 plus any non-refundable costs of the cancelled ticket and any additional costs of the new ticket

• Once a booking is conirmed no name transfers are permitted within 60 days of departure and will be regarded as a cancellation and cancellation fees apply

It is important to note that some arrangements such as certain types of air tickets cannot be changed after a booking has been made as they are sold as part of your ixed package: any change will be treated as a cancellation in which case cancellation charges will apply.

IF YOU WISH TO CANCEL YOUR BOOKING Because we start to incur costs in relation to your arrangements from the time we conirm your booking, if you cancel we have to make a charge and the nearer to your departure date you cancel, the higher the charge will be. If you wish to cancel a conirmed booking you must do so by writing to our head ofice. Cancellation takes effect from the day we receive your letter. Cancellation charges are shown in the table below and will be payable immediately on cancellation. Where the cancellation charge is shown as a percentage, this is calculated on the basis of the total cost payable by the person(s) cancelling excluding insurance premiums and amendment charges. Insurance premiums and amendment charges are not refundable in the event of cancellation:

• 61 or more days: Retention of deposit• 60 – 50 days: 30% including deposit• 49 – 40 days: 60% including deposit• 39 days or less: 100% including deposit

For independent tailor made bookings, full cancellation fees apply as per the supplier’s terms and conditions. Depending on the reason for cancellation, you may be able to reclaim these cancellation charges (less any applicable excess) under the terms of your insurance policy. Claims must be made directly to the insurance company concerned and we have no liability in these circumstances
