Fashion ChinaFashion China is considered a festival in China. It is an annual “festival” that is strictly for professionals only. Top knotch people from around the world attend to see Chinese models in sports, leisure, buisness suits, and other spiffy clothing. It is from 9 am to 5:30 pm on September 15 every year. BiennaleThis is known as the Shanghai Spirit, a day that is set apart for people to celebrate what great unknown artists Shanghai has. Large art pictures and posters are posted in streets and put up for action and sale, with the artist’s permission. This mostly takes place in the Shanghai museum, but some pictures are sold in markets, too. This happens from November 6th to December 16th. This isn’t an annual thing, but happens every once in a while to get artists known.

Yunnan Lu Road Night Market

Yunnan Lu Road Night Market is not for the queasy or the faint hearted. It specializes mainly in noodles but be prepared for all manner of other foods, the bizarre included.Stall holders provide snappy service and make something of a show as they juggle their pots and woks.It takes literally seconds for a noble grandma to prepare the noodles from scratch, string them out and serve them up. The noodles are by and large fat, flat and white. They are easy to identify. The unusual additions you can sometimes encounter include duck's tongue and deep fried scorpions amongst others and are not so easy to spot. The long and short of it being - make sure you have something of a grasp of Mandarin, or an adventurous palate. A common error is to ask for meifan instead of mifan. The former means trouble, the latter means rice.
