Attendance Expectations
Chieftain Chorus is a privilege. Many students did NOT make it into the group, so:
• Be Proud• Take it Seriously• Be Committed
Attendance Expectations
You are expected at every Chieftain Chorus rehearsal and performance, unless you have a legitimate reason to miss.
Communicate if you have a reason to miss rehearsal.
Attendance ExpectationsHow can you communicate with Mr. Sanchez
about absences?1) School-related issues: talk to me/write me a
note.2) Outside of school issues: Email or note from
parent.3) Please avoid sending a verbal message with a
peer, or even telling Mr. Sanchez in person. WRITE it down – that way he won’t forget!
Attendance Policy
You will be allowed 1 UNEXCUSED absence from a Chieftain Chorus rehearsal. If you have 2 UNEXCUSED absences, you will no longer be a member of Chieftain Chorus.
If you miss rehearsal for any reason, please check my resource schedule on my white board to see which day I’m available for Chieftains make ups.
Attendance Policy
If you miss rehearsal and Mr. Sanchez doesn’t know why, you will receive a notice in homeroom. Please fill it out and return by the NEXT SCHOOL DAY.
Attendance Policy
If you have numerous EXCUSED absences or if you never make up EXCUSED absences at resource, you can expect to have a conversation with Mr. Sanchez about your commitment to Chieftain Chorus, and if it is fair that you continue in this group.
Sports PracticePractice/Rehearsal conflict – we share you.
Tamanend athletes leave rehearsal at 3:30.
South athletes – Please be proactive and arrange transportation! You may leave
rehearsal at 3:20 to get to your South sports practice. Sometimes, alternative
arrangements can be made.
Sports GamesGame/Rehearsal conflict - Be sure Mr.
Sanchez knows you have a game and then go kick butt! You are excused from rehearsal.
Behavior ExpectationsOnce again, Chieftains is a privilege!
Your behavior, at all rehearsals, performances, and other events should be STELLAR! Please recognize when it is appropriate to talk, laugh, and socialize, and when it is NOT.
If anyone struggles with this, you can expect a conversation with Mr. Sanchez about your commitment to Chieftain Chorus, and if it is fair that you continue in this group.
Grade ExpectationsOnce again, Chieftains is a privilege!
One F or 2 Ds in any class gets you on Academic Probation. You cannot participate in after school activities during this time.
Any B- or lower in your music class gets you on Chieftain Probation. You cannot participate in Chieftain Chorus (or Gold’n’Blues) during this time.
