I was again e l ec ted a s Chairman with Vice Chairman Ray (606PR) , Secretary Col in ( B O A A O ) and Treasurer Reg (64KHW 1 .

We a r e a l l hoping t h a t t h e club wi l l be a l i t t l e more ac t ive both on and off the a i r a s t h e r e i s s t i l l a l o t more t o be completed i n t he c lub room. Any exper t a s s i s t a n c e would be much appreciated, any budding jo ine r s or p a i n t e r s ?

Financia l ly the Club should be on a sound foot ing once again w i t h t he main fund r a i s i n g event , t he Annual Componants Fai r f u l l y booked f o r t h i s year and a l l d e a l e r s having paid t h e r e depos i t s .

A t t h e A.0.H. i t was proposad t h a t t h e club should buy a replacement fo r the H.F. Tranceiver , an SWRIPower meter and an A.T .U.

You wi l l agree w i t h me, I t h i n k c o s t l y items t o purchase. 80 a s not t o s t r e t c h the p r o f i t s from the Components Fai r I think i t wil l be necessary t o suppl&ent t h i s w i t h add i t iona l fund r a i s i n g e f f o r t s .

One suggestion t h a t has already been made is t h e holding of another Organ Concert. T h i s was very successful and r e l r t i v l y easy t o organise, t he only e f f o r t needed b y t he c lub mrmbers is i n t i c k e t s e l l i n g . If we rea ly want t o buy t h i s equipment we will have t o f i n d some of the money i n t h i s way. We a r e r e ly ing on members t o buy t h i s equipment w i t h your a s s i s t a n c e and e f f o r t .

Again we wi l l be requi r ing a s s i s t a n c e w i t h t ha Components Fa i r , a s many members a s poss ib le who can help p lease l e t us know a s soon a s poss ib le s o a s we can organise some form of r o t a of jobs, so t h a t you a r e not ' t i ed ' a l l day.

Also of i n t e r e s t t o us a s a club is t h e f ace l i f t t h a t t h e Centre is receiving. The f r o n t of the building has already been painted. The car park i s being enlarged and building work wi l l be commencing i n Harch with the cons t ruc t ion of a new ent rance foyer t o the main h a l l .

T h i s will be of bene f i t t a : h a s most of our fund r a i s i n g funct ions a r e held i n t he main h a l l .

Horse Classes a r e s t i l l being held on a Monday evening although we f e l t t h a t anyone who was not a member should be charged Sop per lesson i f they do not want t o join t h e club. Anyone who wishes t o take morses c l a s s e s see e i t h e r Reg 64KHW or Tom 038PH.

I n the UK, several of the 14 l icensod dig ipeatere w i th GUS--ca l l s i gns now have operat ional mbxes, based on tho world famous WORLI mbx. This rnbx was o r i g i n a l ly developed i n the United Status by WORLI. A t present Surrey Univers i ty , G83UP and RSGB HQ, GBSHQ, are developing the software on the BBC computer. By using a mbx, you can deposit messages t o r s ta t i ons t o yead l a t e r . A messaae can be l e f t so t ha t only ono s ta t i on muy road i t or i t can be l e f t as pa r t of a l inked network so tha t i t may be passed automatical ly t o other mbxrs f o r r e t r i e v a l .
