Wabash County Chamber of Commerce WACCY Golf Chair Brian Campbell is pleased to announce the results of the recently completed 18 th Annual WACCY Golf Outing at the Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash. One hundred fourty-three golfers participated in this year's two flight, best ball scramble, networking event. Congratulations go to Crossroads Bank's team of Jarrod McKee, Roger Cromer, Scott Bumgardner, and Matt Stone, who won the morning flight with a score of 56. The J.M. Reynolds Co. team of Chris Reynolds, Mike Cornwell, Ron Reynolds, and Dan Chenowith were winners of the afternoon flight with a score of 55. This also qualified them as the day's overall winning team who will receive the traveling trophy, a free entry in the Logansport/Cass County Chamber Golf Outing and bragging rights for the year. Second place finishers were the Wabash County REMC team in the morning flight, with a score of 59 and the Bulldog Battery Corporation team in the afternoon with a score of 58. Taking third place were the Staffing Resources team in the morning flight and Perry Pro-Tech

International work place researcher Jack Wiley joining

Manchester University faculty

Jack Wiley, internationally recognized for groundbreaking research linking employee engagement to

business performance, will join the faculty of Manchester University in the fall.

As Distinguished Professor of Psychology, Dr. Wiley will teach Industrial-Organizational Psychology

and involve MU students and faculty in his ongoing research, said Dean Glenn Sharfman, vice

president for academic affairs.

Wiley, with more than 35 years in the field, is author of the book,RESPECT, Delivering Results by

Giving Employees What They Really Want. He is an international keynote speaker and consultant to

He founded and led Kenexa High Performance Institute, developing

research that links employee survey results to measures of business

performance. Wiley has returned home to Wabash County and lives near

La Fontaine, 25 miles south of the North Manchester campus. That

created an opportunity for Manchester University, which invited him to

speak at an academic convocation last fall.

County Program!

Leadership Development Wabash County offered an outstanding course of study tolearn leadership skills and apply those skills at work and through community servicewithin Wabash County. The course offered participants the chance to learn about resources available inWabash County, to network with other Wabash County business professionals, andto enhance their leadership and communication skills. The participants touredseveral businesses in Wabash County, as well as participated in community serviceprojects. The course was open to anyone in Wabash County but was especiallybeneficial to those new in the community, young professionals, recently promotedstaff members, and anyone looking to assume leadership in communityorganizations. Topics of study included StrengthsQuest, DISC Leadership Assessment, education,leadership styles, ethics, motivating others, and technology. Each class featuredinstruction on one of these topics and a panel discussion with community leaders.
