1. Introduction
a rich library having connectivity with the leading libraries of the world. These are
some of the shining feathers in the crown of CVRCE which helped the institute grow
into a university in record time.
CGU, Odisha has also inherited the following things from CVRCE: a well geared
system, a responsive and supportive management, rich infrastructure, among a host
of other things. In reality, the story of CGU, Odisha is synonymous with the story of
CVRCE.
CGU, Odisha was established as per “Odisha Act 01 of 2020”. Although this
University is newly born, it takes pride in its rich heritage. Aiming to improve the
scholastic ability and effectiveness of the quality education system across the globe,
the University is committed to expanding the scope of the existing departments
and also to open new ones to deliver multi and inter-disciplinary courses by
accelerating the present sectoral focus of its mother Institute.

3. Eligibility
A) Nationality : For admission, the applicant should be a Resident / Non-
Resident Indian National / PIO Holder
B) Age (for 4Yrs. B.Tech Programme) : Candidate should have attained the
age of 16 on/before 31st July 2020. Maximum age limit is 21years.
C) Qualification

(3Years)
a. Passed Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40%
marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved
category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology.
b. Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as
defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in
case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and
passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.
Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. stream,
shall clear the subjects Engineering Graphics/ Engineering
Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the First Year
Engineering Programmed along with the Second year
subjects. Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc.
Stream shall be considered only after filling the
supernumerary seats in this category with students

belonging to the Diploma stream.
c. Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.
d. In the above cases, a suitable bridge Courses, if required
such as in Mathematics may be conducted.
For Marine Engg. :
Diploma in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, Electrical &
Electronics with 60% marks in aggregate (with 50% marks
in English either at 10th / Diploma)
OR
Passed 1st year Mechanical Engg of 4years B.Tech
Programme with 60% marks in aggregate (with 50% marks
in English either at 10th or B.Tech)
(Age – Should not be more than 25years)
3 MBA
(2 Years)
Passed Bachelor Degree of minimum 3 years duration.
Obtained at least 60% marks (45% marks in case of
candidates belonging to reserved category) in the
qualifying Examination.
4 M. Tech
a. Passed bachelor degree or equivalent in the relevant
field.Obtained atleast 60% marks in the qualifying exam.
b. GATE qualified candidates need not to sit in the entrance
examination. They have to submit their documents
through the admission portal for direct admission
counseling process.
5 M. Sc. Passed bachelor degree (with Hons.) in the relevant
field. Obtained atleast 60% marks in the qualifying exam.

4. Application Form
A CANDIDATE CAN APPLY FOR ANY ONE PROGRAMME MENTIONED AGAINST AP1
to AP5 based on qualification and the course in which he/she wants to take
admission.
• Application Fee – No Application/Examination Fees for CGET – 2020
• For any future correspondence, please mention the Application number
generated after submission of the application form

Process of filling up the application form
A. The candidates are required to apply only online as per the procedure
detailed below. Further, applicants are advised to follow the “INSTRUCTION
BOOKLET FOR FILLING APPLICATION FORM” that is uploaded in the website.
• Candidates can apply for CGET-2020 only through “Online” mode.
Before filling up the online form, please read the Information
Brochure online or by downloading it from the CGU, Odisha website :
www.cgu-odisha.ac.in.
• The candidates should provide all the authentic details while filling
up the online form.
• Candidates not complying with the instructions shall summarily be
disqualified.
B. On submission of details, an Application Number shall be generated.
C. Candidate has to fill the particulars online and also upload his/her
photograph, full signature and thumb impression of left hand. It is not
necessary to send the hard copy of the application.
D. Applicant must quote the registration number/ Application number
generated after submission of all his/her required personal data as a
reference in all his/her future correspondence. Candidates must retain the
Printouts of the computer-generated Confirmation Page of the Application
Form as reference for future correspondence.

E. Application must be completed in all respect. Incomplete /
unsuccessful submission of application will lead to outright rejection.
F. Applicant should give options only with respect to Reservation
Categories (SC/ST/GC/ PwD/EX) that he/she can substantiate the same with
documentary evidences during document verification / counseling. There is
no provision of uploading any proof of these categories during online
registration.

G. Options such as Category, Choice of place of examination centre and
Reservation & Sub-reservation category once given by the applicant in
the application form cannot be changed afterwards under any
circumstances.
H. Candidates are allowed to submit only one application form. Multiple
applications for a particular stream or in multiple streams of a
candidate are liable to be rejected. After submission of an application,
options cannot be changed at a later stage.
I. Claim for admission will be rejected if the candidate can not submit
the original certificates, mark sheets, other necessary documents at
the time of document verification or if one has filled the form
incorrectly.
J. Admission may be cancelled at any time, if certificates/ mark sheets/
other documents are found to be forged or manipulated. A candidate
will not be considered for admission.

K. Facility of submission of application form will be ceased at the last day
of filling up online-application form submission. Hence, candidates are
required to complete the process within the prescribed duration.
5. E-Tracking / Message Tracking
Once the candidates submit the application, a message of confirmation will
be sent through SMS / through email to the candidates. Hence, correct email
ids and contact number should be given.
6. Test Centers for CGET
The CGET-2020 will be held in different cities. The list of the Test Cities
along with their corresponding codes will be published in the CGU, Odisha
website.

7. E-Admit Card
• The e-Admit card will be generated once the candidate has booked his
/ her schedule through the Online Test Booking System available in the
website from date 10th July,2020
• The e-Admit card will indicate the e-Admit card number, photograph of
the student, address of the test centre, test date and time.
Discrepancies, if any should be brought to the notice of the CGU,
Odisha immediately.
• Candidates should take a print out of the e-Admit card using the print
option on A4 size paper only. Please ensure that all the information
including the photograph are clearly visible on the print out.
• Candidates will not be permitted to appear for the test without valid
e-Admit card.
• The e-Admit card is an important document and it must be preserved
and produced at the time of counselling/admission.
8. Do’s & Don’ts at Test Centres
• Candidates should be present at the test centres as per the reporting
time mentioned in the admit card.
• Sign the attendance sheet in presence of the invigilator.
• Not permitted to carry any text materials, printed or written bits of
paper, electronic devices like mobile phones, calculators, blue-tooth
devices etc.

9. Examination Procedure / Evaluation Methodology
a. There will be multiple choice type questions.
b. The number of questions will be sixty (60) per each hour of
examination.
c. Each question shall have four options (including one correct answer)
and the examinee shall have to select the appropriate choice of answer
in the assigned computer.
d. The selected answer is stored /saved temporarily and a candidate may
change his/her choice of answer later during the course of examination
until it is over.
e. A candidate can change his/her choice as per wish as many times as
required before the end of examination and the last selected/chosen
option will be saved finally for evaluation.
f. Each correct answer shall fetch four marks. Each un-attempt question
will fetch zero. One mark will be deducted for wrong answer.
g. If an applicant has not attempted at least one question and selected its
answer circle in computer then his/her candidature will summarily be
rejected. No rank will be awarded to such applicants submitting blank
answer.
h. Detailed instructions regarding steps to be followed by the
applicant inside the online examination hall will be notified in the
website before the examination.

10. Result
• Rank List :
o A rank list will be prepared based on the percentile secured in CGET-2020.
o The rank list will be intimated through SMS, to the registered mobile number of the candidates and will be displayed in the website.
o Candidates are allowed to appear for the entrance examination only once. CGU, Odisha has the right to hold the rank and cancel the candidacy of the candidates appearing more than once.
• Announcement of Results :
o The CGET-2020 results will be available on the CGU, Odisha website : cgu-odisha.ac.in
11. Admission Procedure
• The admission is based on the ranks secured by the applicant in CGET-
2020 Examination.
• Applicants will be called for the counselling based on the ranks.
• CGU, Odisha doesn’t have any agent and the payments will be made in
the form of demand draft or RTGS.
• Even after admission, the management reserves all the rights to cancel
the candidate’s admission, in case, any discrepancy. The decision shall
be final and binding on the candidate. CGU, Odisha can not be held
responsible for any loss/damage arising out of such cancellation of
admissions.
• All disputes are subjects to the jurisdiction of the courts only at
Bhubaneswar, Odisha

12. Counseling Process
• The applicant, parents or authorized local guardian should appear in
person with relevant documents in original for verification.
• Candidates will not be permitted to attend the counseling more than
once.
• The candidates should produce the following documents in original along
with two sets of photocopies while reporting for the counseling.
CGET-2020 e-Admit Card and CGET-2020 Result copy.
Class X Board Certificate as a proof of the date of birth
Mark sheet of qualifying examination or XII Hall Ticket (for
candidates awaiting result)
Community Certificate (for SC / ST only) for relaxation as per
Govt. norms.
Counseling Fee as crossed Demand Draft or RTGS slip as proof.
Candidates without DD or RTGS slip will not be permitted to
attend counseling.
If the mark statement of the qualifying exam has not been
received before the date of counseling, the candidate should
furnish an undertaking stating that that if he / she fail to qualify
as per the norms, he / she will forfeit his / her provisional
admission.
It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether
they have the requisite qualifications for admission. Having been
called for the test / counseling does not mean acceptance of the
eligibility. If found ineligible at any point of time he / she will
be treated as ineligible and admission will be cancelled as per
the norms.
Candidates should submit all the original relevant documents
i.e. Mark Sheets, Transfer Certificate or School Leaving
Certificate etc. to the Admission Office at the time of admission
for verification.

A provisional admission letter will be issued indicating the
programme.
13. Payment of Fee

14. Refund of Fee
• Refund will be made as per the norms of UGC.
• All refundable deposits will be returned, after deductions if any, at the
time of completion of the course or on cancellation of admission. The
refund will be made through account transfer to the account number
mentioned in the withdraw request. Therefore, provide the current
account number details. In case of refund through the DD, the DD will
be made only in the name of the candidate.
15. Hostel Accommodation
Separate hostel accommodation is available for boys and girls in the campus.
Accommodation in institute hostel will be subject to availability. The allocation will
be done only after the complete payment of fees and enrolment procedure.
Candidates should report to the hostel within one week from the date of
commencement of classes, failing which, the hostel allotment will be cancelled and
the fees paid will stand forfeited.

16. Discontinuance / Withdrawal from the Programme after Enrolment
a) A candidate who desires to leave the institution after joining the programme will have to submit a “No-Dues Certificate” issued by competent authorities. This should be accompanied by the application for withdrawal and the original fee receipt.
b) The Original Certificates will be returned only on production of “No-Dues Certificate” in the prescribed form, obtained from the Administrative Office.
c) Refund policy applies as per the institute norms irrespective of whether the student attended class(es) or not.
17. General Instructions
• All students have to comply with the rules and regulations that are
already in force and which may be amended from time to time by the
competent authority.
• The date of commencement of classes will be mentioned in the
provisional admission letter or will be updated in the website. No
communication will be sent separately to the candidates regarding
this.
• Candidates should report to classes within seven days from the date of
commencement of classes.
