I love these shoes. Really? The same way I love my wife? What’s up with the word “love”? God wired us a certain way to experience all that love was really meant to be. Not to hold us back or to make us miss out on the best that life has to offer. God created love, and wants us to feel it all in the way it’s meant to be felt.

In Session Nine, John Bevere shares how to protect your ability to speak truth from
your heart, and shares how honoring your peers is vital in the Kingdom of God.
We are told in Romans 12:9-10, “Let love be without hypocrisy; abhor what is evil, cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love and honor, giving preference to one another.”
Honor can never be done in pretense,” says John Bevere. “It only leads to deception and there is definitely no reward in deception…What does the Bible mean
when we are to hate what is evil and cling to what is good? Simply put, that is the fear of the Lord. Proverbs 8:13 says, ‘The fear of the Lord is to hate evil.’ The fear of the Lord keeps us from deception. It keeps us from blinding ourselves to hypocritical behavior.”
“When the fear of God is in you, you will not speak deceit. You will speak from your heart. This is so important that we must learn and maintain and protect our ability to speak from the heart.”
“‘Be kindly affectionate to one another in brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.’ Honor gives preference to another because it values and esteems them…Romans 5:5 says that the love of God has been shed in the heart by the Holy Spirit when we give our lives to Jesus; when we’re born again. You have that love that Jesus loves us and honors us with put in your heart.”
“I shudder because I know I’m not there yet. I know it’s not been developed in me, and I want it developed in me like that. Paul is saying the same exact thing that Jesus did for us. Jesus esteemed us better than himself; therefore he took our judgment.”
“That’s amazing love,” concludes Bevere, “If you walk in that kind of honor, you cannot believe the rewards that you will see in your life.”
