REPORT ON NSS ACTIVITIES ORGANIZED IN ACADEMIC YEAR
2016-17
VANMAHOTSAV
NSS Curaj has Organized Vanmahotsav or Plantation Activity in Curaj On 15th
August 2016.
Plantation was done in nearby area of Architecture Block and University Pond. About 50 NSS
Volunteers Actively Participated.
NSS SPECIAL CAMP
NSS central University of Rajasthan has organized the NSS special camp on “A step for
making New India with Waste and water management & Cashless Economy” from
December 12th
to 16th 2016.
Orientation and Inauguration of the Camp
On December 12th
2016, Orientation and Inauguration of the camp was organized. Dr. Rajesh Sharma,
Director Nehru Study Centre, University of Rajasthan was the Invited Speaker who delivered the lecture
revealing the importance of Cashless society and the role of youth for making the same possible. Prof.
Arun K. Pujari Hon’ble Vice-chancellor has presided over the session. Prof. S.N. Ambedkar, Dean
Student Welfare has also graced the occasion with his valuable presence. Dr. J.K. Prajapat, NSS Chair has
introduced about the camp schedule and objectives. Camp was held in campus along with three nearby
villages Bandarsindri, Nohriya and Ladhera. Dr. Hemlata Manglani, Convener NSS, has delivered the
NSS introduction and importance to all volunteers. Camp was inaugurated by dignitaries with watering
the plant.

Yoga- Session
Before commencing the activities a yoga session was held for NSS volunteers conducted by Dr. Neeraj
Panwar.
Poster Competition
Poster competition on Cashless Economy and Waste management was organized during the camp.

Hemang, Sachin, Chandan , Jitendra, Garima, Vinita,Pragya, Preksha Krishna, Vikas, Manohar and Bhagvati actively participated in the poster event.

NSS Volunteers participated in awareness rally in nearby villages for making the villagers aware about
the cashless transactions and the digital security
Awareness Campaign at Schools of Noharia, Bandarsindri and Ladhera villages for Cashless
Economy and Waste Management
NSS Volunteers have participated in schools of nearby villages Nohriya, Bandarsindri and Ladhera for
making the school students and teachers aware about the cashless transactions, its incentives and digital
security. They were also educated about organic and inorganic waste and its management. School
students were encouraged to contribute to make the village and their households aware about the cashless
economy and cleanliness.
Survey at Campus and in Nearby Villages
NSS Volunteers did survey in the shopping Plazas of the campus including cooperative store, canteen,
Mess, stationary, and Laundry shops.
They have also visited nearby market of villages for making the sellers aware about cashless transactions.
Market sellers, students, households, were surveyed through a questionnaire to know that how many
people do embrace the cashless economy and use cashless instruments.
Street plays
Two groups of NSS volunteers have participated in street plays on cashless Economy and Waste
Management. They narrated with plays the importance of cashless economy, and various incentives of it.
They also presented the risk issues keeping more cash. They presented their act at village schools, street
areas of villages, In front of Bank lines and campus. Another group has presented the waste management
and the importance of cleanliness in the society. Sachin and group & Shweta and Group have actively
participated in the street plays.

NSS volunteers Monica, Ravinder Singh Deval, Sachin Sachdeva, Hemang Mittal, and Krishna
have actively participated in the mock presentations and poetry during the awareness program.
Invited Lectures by Faculties
University faculties Dr. Gyana Ranjan Panda, Dr. Chandra Shekhar Gahan, And Dr. Jagdish Jadhav have
delivered the lectures on cashless incentives, Digital securities, various modes of payments and its policy
perspectives and future.

VISAKA CAMPAIGN
An Interface Meeting: An interface meeting was organized on January 3, 2017 with the
bank located in the university (BOI), hostel mess managers, vendors of shopping complex at
the university, and all the administrative sections of the university. The meeting was
intended to discuss and plan for “How to make campus cash-less?” An in-depth discussion
about several cashless transactions apps and other probable solutions were held. This was
found that some sellers of university shopping complex were already using Paytm. The
sellers of university shopping plaza have mentioned that they have applied for POS machines
to the BOI. Also, sellers mentioned that, they are little discouraged with transaction charges on
debit cards. Though the rental charges of POS machines are waived till 31st March 2017, but
when the waive period will get over then they will have losses due to transaction charges.
Sellers are looking forward to the government to facilitate them with no transaction and
rental charges as well.
The BOI manager suggested an android application “Chiller app” during the discussion.
Certain banks along with the BOI are linked with this application. This application is secured
it is working on IMPS platform. To use this app one need a bank account in BOI or in other
banks linked with this app. To use “Chiller app”, BOI manager was agreed to open accounts on
zero balances for the university students who still not have BOI accounts.
University intended for few POS machines from BOI for cashless transaction of various fees
at several units of university. BOI manager was agreed to facilitate with all machines also
agreed to waive the rental charges even after the 31st March 2017.
Awareness Campaign about cashless instruments at Kishangarh market: On 7th
January
2017, an awareness camp was organized at Kishangarh market to orient the sellers about the
various modes of payment through cashless instruments. During this campaign, it was found that
the sellers are little disappointed with transaction charges on POS machines and asking about
security issues. Therefore, sellers of were invited for a workshop on cashless transactions that
was planned on 8th January 2017 at the University, so that they can be trained with various
modes of digital and transaction securities.
Display of Videos: To get aware university students, certain videos on cashless transaction were
displayed for few days at the university mess during dinner time and at shopping complex during
night time.
Workshop on Cashless Transactions: A one day workshop on Cashless Transactions was
organized on 8th January 2017 at the university for the students, faculties, staff, sellers of
university shopping complex, nearby school & college students and teachers. 230 participants
were registered for the workshop. The Hon’ble Vice chancellor’s inaugurated workshop with
an opening remarks on cashless economy and university efforts for making the campus
cashless. Shree B.M. Agarwal, SBBJ Jaipur and Shree Kunal Rahar, RBI Jaipur discussed the
importance of Cashless system, its impact on the economy, and its various incentives. They
have further focused government efforts in this regard, parallel economy and how cashless
system is important to stop corruption and black money. There were several lectures during
the workshop on the future of cashless economy, modes of cashless payments, Transaction
security and cyber-attacks, policy perspectives of cashless system and its implication will
create more transparency in the system, governance and economy and an interactive session
of participants on the practical problems of various modes of cashless system.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP
Blood Donation camp was organized on January 12th 2017 and around 150 students registered
for the same.
Debate Competition
English debate was organized on “Social Media for Youth: Boon or Bane”. Chitra Sharma
(MBA), Pradeep Kumar (Mathematics) and Lata Paliwal (M.Com) received first, second and
third positions respectively.
Ayushi Bhutra (Mathematics), Nikhil Choudhary (Statistics), Subham Rai (Physics) and Poonam
Sad (Economics) received the position first, second and third respectively in Hindi Debate
“यवुाओ ंके लऱए सोशऱ मीडिया: वरदान या अलिशाप”,
Essay Competition
English Essay competition was organized on “Impact of Demonetization on Economic Behavior
of the Youth”. In which Siddharth Bal (Biotechnology), Subham Rai (Physics) and Pradeep
Kumar (Mathematics), Khushboo Mehta (Microbiology) achieved the first, second and third
positions respectively.
Narendra Meena (MBA), Jitendra Kumar Yadav (Mathematics) and Suresh Godara
(Mathematics) have achieved the first, second and third positions respectively in Hindi Essay on
युवाओ ंके आर्थिक व्यवहार पर ववमुद्रीकरण का प्रिाव”.
NSS ANNUAL DAY
NSS Annual Day was organized on 31st March 2017. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Was The Chief
Guest Of The Event And Distributed Prizes To NSS Volunteers. Best NSS Volunteer Girl and
boy were awarded to Ms. Monica (Chemistry) and Mr. Sachin Sachdeva (Statistics) respectively
for their active contribution towards Social Service.
NSS VOLUNTEERS’ ACHIEVEMENT AND NATIONAL RECOGNITION
PARTICIPATION IN PRE-RD CAMP 2016-17
160 best talented and outstanding NSS volunteers are selected to participate in the Republic Day
Parade Camp through five zonal level Pre-Republic Day Camps organized by Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports at different five zones of the country.
In these Pre-R.D. Camps of 10 days duration the various selection procedures are adopted to select the best volunteers. A rigorous training of parade practice is arranged for the volunteers to
show the capability of perfect marching/drilling. In each camp 200 volunteers participate from the states fall under the zone. The final selection is made by a National Level Selection
Committee duly formulated by the Ministry.
A team of Regional office NSS with Shri Komal Singh has visited our University and given opportunity to CURAJ NSS Volunteers to participate in the camp. The camp was held in
Chandigarh from 27th October to November 4
th 2017.

PARTICIPATION IN NATIONAL INTEGRATION CAMP
Students of NSS CURAJ participated in National Integration Camp was held at Bagalkot,
Karnataka. Dr. Pramod Kumar Naik as a team manager/program officer accompanied the NSS
students. The duration of the camp was 20th

Karnataka. She has also secured second and Third positions in Mono Acting and Singing
competitions during the camp. Ms. Shanu Jajra (Dept. of Economics) has also achieved the
third position in Dance Competition during the camp.
PARTICIPATION IN NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL 2017
NSS Volunteers CURAJ participated in in the 21st National Youth Festival 2017 at
Rohtak, Haryana during 12th January to 16
th January 2017.
