Central Tiger Tales A Leader in Me School - April 2019 A Message From Your Principal - LEADER IN ME FAMILY NIGHT on May 17th! Hello Central Elementary Families! Spring is here and another school year is ying by very quickly! When we think of spring, we think of new growth and it’s a wonderful time of year to celebrate the academic growth and awesome accomplishments of our Central students! In our second year as a Leader in Me school, our students and staff have continued to synergize their efforts in creating a positive school culture that celebrates the strengths and abilities of all students. We’re excited to be hosting another FAMILY NIGHT on Friday, May 17th from 5:30pm-7:30pm and our Tiger Cubs are eager to share what they have been learning about personal initiative and goal setting to plan their academic success. Our second annual LEADER IN ME FAMILY NIGHT will include the following festivities: FREE Cookout for our Central Families sponsored by PTO! Please RSVP by Friday, May 10th to assist us with food planning and preparation. We request the quantity of family members attending and choice of either a Hamburger or Hotdog. Drinks and side dishes will be provided too! THANK YOU for clicking on the link below to complete the RSVP form. We will Picnic outdoors weather permitting! Please plan to bring along your blankets and/or lawn chairs. If we have a rainy day we’ll eat inside in the Café, Media Center and Gymnasium where performances will be located. Live Performances by our Central student leaders following the picnic! Classroom tours where students will share what they have learned about WIG’s (Wildy Important Goals) and their growth in the 7 Habits this school year. Click the link below to RSVP! Kindergarten Roundup - May 7th and 8thOur Kindergarten Round Up is scheduled for May 7th & May 8th. The schedule for Central’s Kindergarten Round Up is as follows:

Tuesday, May 7th : Appointments begin at 8:10am and conclude at3:30pmWednesday, May 8th : Appointments will be scheduled in theafternoon and evening beginning at 12:10pm and ending at7:30pm.

Please give us a call at the Central Elementary O�ce phone number: 765-482-2000 to schedule yourappointment. *Important Change* As of 4/29/19 Governor Eric Holcomb signed a bill to move back the kindergartenage eligibility date. As a result, any student who will be �ve years old on or before September 1, 2019is eligible for kindergarten this fall. Previously, a child was eligible for kindergarten in the fall of 2019if they turned �ve on or before August 1, 2019.

Central's Collection for Life CentersWe wanted to share the results of the Central collection for Life Centers. Here is a nice message fromthe Life Centers representative. "Ms. Fields took the picture of some members of Student Council (plusSelah!) helping to load the supplies. Then the second picture is everything collected – wow! Centralstudents did such a great job! Because of their generosity, we are well-stocked on bottles, paci�ers,teethers, burp cloths, washcloths, onesies, receiving blankets, books, and all kinds of other items forour baby bundles! Thank you to Central Families for helping our organization to continue to servefamilies with babies in Boone County!"

Central's Tiger PRIDE StudentEvery nine weeks a student from each Lebanon School is selected asthe PRIDE Student and recognized at one of the LCSC BoardMeetings. Congratulations to Bryce Jones who was selected asCentral's PRIDE student for the past 9 weeks.

Some Important RemindersSnow Make-Up DaysSchool will now be in session on Friday, May 24, 2019. Library BooksIf your child receives a notice about an overdue library book, please helphim or her search for the book(s). If you have any questions or concernsabout a missing book, please email Mrs. Moyer directly [email protected] or send the notice back to school with a notefrom you. Mistakes do happen and sometimes books get reshelved before check-in or misplaced hereat school. Background ChecksJust a quick reminder that you must have a background check on �le to join your student in the schoolor to travel on any �eld trips. Background checks must be completed each year. If you are not sure ifyou have one on �le and you have a school activity coming up, please call the Central o�ce at 765-482-2000 to ensure you have one on �le for this year. Lost and FoundWith the end of the year right around the corner it is the perfect time to have your student check thelost and found for any missing items. There are hats, gloves, sweatshirts, jackets, snow pants, snowboots, lunch boxes and many other misc. items. Any unclaimed items will be donated at the end of theschool year.

5th Grade Immunization ClinicThis is a reminder that the Boone County Health Department will be at Central Elementary to provide afree Vaccine Clinic on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. This clinic is free for students without insurancecoverage or for those that have insurance that does not cover vaccines. If you would like your studentto receive their immunizations here at school, please sign and return the consent form that wasattached to the parent e-mail sent earlier today. The Tdap, MCV 4, and Hep A are requiredimmunizations. The HPV is recommended. If you choose to have these immunizations done with yourhealth care provider, you will need to do so before your student enters 6th grade on August 12. Failureto be compliant for the 2019-2020 school year will result in your student’s exclusion from school.
