To Our  Families, 

Our  community is dealing with a difficult situation and many of you have questions and 

concerns.  Please be assured that your  children are safe when they are at school. 

It has been confirmed that several parents in our  community were approached by a 

reporter  going door ‐to‐door  this past Sunday, and asking if people knew that "Karla 

Homolka" was living in the area.  School Board officials have brought this information to 

the 

Chateauguay 

Police 

who 

are 

taking 

this 

very 

seriously 

and 

collaborating 

with 

us. 

As you know, under  Quebec Law, all children have the right to privacy and an obligation to 

be in school.  This is why I cannot comment any further  or  provide any personal 

information about any family. 

I can assure you that when your  children are at Centennial Park School, they are safe.  In 

the morning, we have employees on duty who receive the students.  Throughout the day, 

nobody can gain access to our  building without being buzzed in by a staff member.  We 

are also very fortunate that the design of our  building has office staff located at the main 

entrance.  Also, the front door  is the only access point to our  school.  Our  staff knows our  

families and

 vigilant

 when

 it

 comes

 to

 allowing

 adults

 access

 to

 the

 school.

 

Please also know that the New Frontiers School Board has policies in place to ensure that 

adults who work or  volunteer  with our  students are required to have criminal background 

checks done. 

As always, it is the safety and security of all of our  students that is of our  utmost concern.
