Lichmangraduated with a Master of Arts degree in counselingpsychology. During Lichman’s time at the Universityof St. Thomas, she studied multicultural issues in Sin-gapore, and held a cumulative grade-point average of3.87.

Lichman obtained and completed an internship atPark Nicollet Melrose Institute, a leading nationallyknown eating disorder inpatient, residential and out-patient facility where she worked under the supervi-sion of licensed psychologists and within a multidisci-plinary team of professionals. Lichman has alsoworked as a mental health practitioner at St. David’sCenter Child and Family Development where shereceived a certificate of staff recognition. In conjunc-tion with working as a mental health practitioner,Lichman was also employed at Engineering and Con-struction Innovations, Inc.

Lichman is currently employed at Park NicolletMelrose Institute, working toward licensure andapplying to Doctorate of Psychology programs acrossthe nation.

on Sept. 24, 2011, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church inAustin, Minn., with the Rev. Glen Monson officiat-ing.

Katie is the daughter of Darol and Sandra Heard ofAustin, Minn., and the granddaughter of Beryl Mad-son of Austin, Minn.

Ryan is the son of Ronald and Marcia Hulshizer ofOtranto, Iowa.

Assisting Katie in the wedding were her maid ofhonor, Allison Heard, and her bridesmaids ErinHeard, Richelle Heard, and Nicole Andrews.

Assisting Ryan in the wedding were his best man,Aaron Sasse, and his groomsmen Hans Finanger,Emerson Adams, and Alex Kagarmanov.

Blake Heard served as the ring bearer and SydneeStolzenberg served as the flower girl. Ushering theguests were Grant Koch, Matthew Haugen, LindseySoshnik and Kevin Madson.

Music was provided by organist William Kuhlman,pianist Greg Bishop and vocalists Michael Veldmanand Erin Schumacher.

A reception and dance were held at the CarpenterCommunity Center in Carpenter, Iowa.

They enjoyed a honeymoon to Germany, Switzer-land and Italy in June of 2012.

Katie is a registered nurse at Mayo Clinic HealthSystems in Austin, Minn. Ryan is an agent in insur-ance and financial services with Farm Bureau Finan-cial Services in Northwood, Iowa. They have madetheir home in Northwood, and are expecting a childon their first wedding anniversary, Sept. 24, 2012!
