Anthony Hinton, lovingly known as “Tony”, was as bright spirited loving son, father, brother, and uncle. Tony was the second oldest child of ten children. Growing up in Detroit, he embraced his community and was loved by a network of friends and family. As a loving father, he is survived by his two daughters Jazmine Odell Geneva Hinton and Shavone Michelle Hinton. He is further survived by his mother, Velma Lee Young and 8 siblings, Donald Lee Hinton, Amie Thomas, Carnell Young, Jeffrie Young, Garcia Young, James Wilbert Young, Regina Renee Harris, and Velma Young. Other living relatives include a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and close friends. He is preceded in death by his natural father Charlie Hinton, his loving stepfather James Wilbert Young, Sr. and his beautiful sister Sharon Denise Hinton.

There are so many fond memories of Tony and he would want you to know what makes his light shines eternally. Lovingly, he had an opinion on most things and was not one for holding his tongue. He never let anything stand in the way of him enjoying life. He loved to take pictures of his family, almost as much as he loved to take pictures from his family. Everyone knew it was his thing and never challenged him on it. As part of his legacy, Tony is smiling down from Heaven right now and laughing at all the pictures he has blessed us with. He enjoyed music, dancing, his Momma’s cooking, and a good party. He was always one of the best dressed men at every family function. He was known for his fondness for jewelry, which he wore a lot of it, and he wore it often.

Tony loved his family and he was the first to hold all the new babies in the family, al-most as a rite of passage. He kept tons of photos of him holding the babies. He was overjoyed at the birth of his two daughters. He was proud of their accomplishments and growth as young women.

Tony passed away in Detroit, Michigan, on Monday, June 8, 2020 . Gone to soon, he will be forever loved and forever missed.

GOD KNOWS

“...And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown. And he replied: Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way. So I went forth, and finding the Hand of God, trod gladly into the night...” ~ Minnie Louise Haskins

Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is

easy and my burden is light.

Tony’s Heart

For my way of departure will never be greater then my journey, but my destination will make it all worth it for me. During my life nothing compares to the collection of wisdom I have gained, the lessons I receive through Love and Some pain. Through my departure I hope you gain great strength, but on the ride of my life my love for you was always intense. I urge you to continue to make the most of your time compared to the ultimate joy gained the agony is worth your while. The truth is, do not allow fear to grip your heart. Do not allow frustration to tear family apart. We can not rewind back the hands of time. But to move uniformly forward securing the line. Remember I wasn’t always here, but the moments we shared hold them near and dear. The world didn’t start with me and with me it will not end but please rest assured that God is your one true friend. He intentionally created me at the appropriate time, not a moment too soon and no longer than my time. So I urge you to lift up your eyes while you can, and humbly yield to Jesus as Savior and Father God, THE GREAT I AM!~Den’Mica Eugene
