12/18: CEEL Winter Celebration!

CEEL Families, I want to wish you all a happy holiday break, filled with quality

time with family, relaxation, and good food! I hope you have a happy start to the

New Year, and I look forward to seeing each of you in 2016! —Ms. Younkins

To celebrate the holidays and welcome

the New Year, we are having a holiday

celebration this week for Fun Friday. We will

begin the festivities around 4:00 after snack and

recess.

We will be serving hot chocolate and

cookies during the celebration. Students will be

able to participate in holiday themed craft

activities, bingo, group games, all in addition to

the regularly provided CEEL games and toys.

We hope your child is able to stay for the

event and spend some time with friends before

the winter break!

Winter Class Updates Bricks4Kidz: During the first two weeks in

Bricks4Kidz students worked with a partner to

build a miniature landsailer and a paddle boat

with Lego Bricks.

Art: In their first lesson with Miss Erica, students

created a drawing in response to the poem

“One Inch Tall” by Shel Silverstein. Next, they will

be making their own color wheels.

French: Students worked hard with Mrs. Flaherty

to produce French ornaments for the Festival of

Trees. Students also choose a French name and

are learning the days of the week.

CPA MMA: Ms. Brooke has been teaching our

older physical education students how to spar,

and has been leading them through drills to

introduce students to Mixed Martial Arts.

K-1 Physical Education: Students have been

learning all about teamwork during group

games lead by Miss Eckert. We are excited to

have Mrs. Herbst as our K-1 Physical Education

teacher starting in 2016.

they are looking forward to during Holiday Break, they replied:

Updates & Reminders J -Winter is coming, and CEEL will be having an outdoor recess whenever possible, given that the temperature is above a real feel of 20°F. Please remember to pack a hat and gloves for your child. Students need boots and snow pants to be permitted to play in the Snow.

-CEEL Family Day Out will be on January 19th. CEEL Families are invited to attend the State College High School Varsity Basketball Game starting at 7:00pm to spend an evening getting to know CEEL Staff. We hope to see you there!
