CEC’s advisory body to the Board of Directors

CEC members interested in applying for upcoming vacancies CEC committees should complete the Committee Interest Form.

General information:• You must be a CEC member in good standing.• Committees have 5-9 members with one-third of the members being replaced

each year.• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in relation to the purposes of the

committee are key committee appointment considerations.• In encouraging broad member participation, CEC strives, across its committees, to

be representative in terms of professional role, unit affiliation, geography, gender, ethnicity and disability.

• Nominations Standing Committee and the Student Committee have applications specific to their purposes and operation.

• Solicit nominations (February - April)

• Applications due: May 10th (www.cec.sped.org/nominations)

• NSC reviews applications (May – June)

• NSC submits a proposed slate to the President (2 candidates for each position)

• Once slate is finalized, all applicants are notified (June)

• Slate is published in CEC’s official publications
