As you may recall: We have always been crazy and making products and investments which are not particularly mainstream. As everybody was going in CD, we were starting with turntables!

Now as everybody goes in streaming, we invest in a new revolutionary CD-player.

I personally believe in listening to music conscious-ly. Also, I believe that a certain group of people sim-ply wants the physical medium in their hands.That‘s true for analogue.But I think that‘s also true for CD!

I am sure everybody will put the majority of his/her CD´s on a hard drive or put them into their base-ments, as they did with their analogue records and, on a day by day basis, listen to a streaming service.BUT: Many people want to keep their best CD´s and

for this they want to have a proper CD-player.Very good in quality, but not too crazy expensive.

As also known, real RedBook CD-players got rare, high-end mechanisms are not even existing any-more. The industry uses DVD or PC drives with a lot of servo electronics and software to get CD´s wor-king. More or less good, but not the best way.We know today that the drive is essential for reading all the 16Bits out of the CD´s and most CD-players are so bad, that they have never seen more than 10Bits.No wonder that over time the CD might have gotten an unfavourable image compared to analogue re-cords and streaming.

It was time to create a perfect, top class CD trans-port again.

Why transport?

Because most of today´s owners of a Hifi stereo or AV system already have a very good DAC, so why add this and make it 50% more expensive?

So, we concentrated to make a CD transport - THE BEST EVER.

Luckily, I am living in Vienna and Vienna was one of the cities where Philips had its development depart-ment and many CD players and mechanisms were designed here.Also, luckily the gentlemen who were part of this epochal invention are still around, formed in a company called StreamUnlimited. We can say the pope of the CD-player today - Mr. Michael Jirousek - was helping to create the ultimate CD player.

Our new Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T is based on the new ultimate CD Pro 8 drive, with sophisticated, super precise new levels of mechanical qualities to read out the BIT perfect signal.

We designed the very robust chassis and electro-nics around this drive, which carries the perfect sig-nal jitter-free to its high variety of outputs.We can say it´s the best CD transport ever and the perfect partner for so many currently existing pre-mium quality DACs.

The history of Pro-Ject
