i suoi piloti (Checa è del '72), che ha raggiunto un traguardo molto importante. Un’autorevole storia del "made in Italy" che ci rende orgogliosi di essere riconosciuti nel mondo delle Due Ruote. E come per tutti i compleanni, 100 di questi giorni!!! It’s true... Nolan, or rather the Nolan Group, is celebrating 40 years.An Italian company that is winning and forever young just like

its riders (Checa was born in '72), Nolan has reached an important milestone.

A team of 400 men and women working passionately everyday in the "wake"of their four leaders: Casey, Jorge, Carlos and Marco.

The company’s preeminent "made in Italy" history makes us proud to be recognized in the world of Two Wheels.

And as with all birthdays, we wish them a very long life and many other more!!!

A sincere thank you to both internal and external staff and people who have contributed to this Brand’s success in almost 100 countries around the world over the past 40 years.

passioni. E Nolan® è da sempre "passioneper le Due Ruote". La storia di Nolan® (acronimo del nome del fondatore) inizia nel 1972 quando Lander Nocchi, imprenditore nel settore degli accessori per moto ed auto, decide di impegnarsi nella fabbricazione di caschida motociclista più leggeri e meno costosi di quelliin commercio all’epoca. Si procura, così, dagli Stati Uniti, il Lexan®, materiale plastico innovativo, leggero e versatile ed avvia la produzione di caschi in policarbonato.In ben 40 anni di storia si sono susseguite altre significative intuizioni, riconosciute ed apprezzate da milioni di consumatori distribuiti in circa 100 Paesi nel mondo.

L’azienda ha fatto delle sue singolari capacità tecnico-produttive e della continua ricerca dell'innovazionei principi cardine che l’hanno portata al successo ed è oggi in grado di offrire una vasta gamma di prodotti, destinati ad ogni tipo di motociclista ed in grado di soddisfare i consumatori più esigenti. Great companies are born out of great passions. Nolan®

has always meant "passion for Two Wheels". The history of Nolan® (acronym of the founder’s name) began in 1972 when Lander Nocchi,an entrepreneur in the motorbike and car accessories sector, decided to produce motorcycle helmets that could be lighter and more affordable than those on the market at the time. He purchased, froma company in the United States, an innovative plastic material, Lexan®, which was light and versatile, and started producing polycarbonate helmets. In the following 40 years, other important ideas have been put into production, and they proved to be well known and highly valued products by millions of customersin about 100 countries around the globe.

The two biggest assets of the Company are its unique technical and production skills and its strive for innovation. This combination brought Nolan to success and the

Company now offers a wide range of products, designed for any kind of rider and able to meet the needs of the most

demanding customers. Over time, Nolan® has been raising the performance level of its products, ensuring at the same time

they would comply with the strictest production regulations and using state-of-the-art materials.

X-lite® came into being in 1998. A new brand for a second Company and also a real challenge, since the Nolan Group pushed the boundaries of its own experience and know-how, and moved into the composite materials sector. In the new special plant for the exclusive production of composite fibre helmets, the most advanced industrial technology goes hand in hand with craftsman's care and skills, which are typically associated with the processing of composite materials.

The "Nolan Group" is synonymous of technology, safety, and design, also striving to achieve the best quality/price ratio: Grex® is the proof. The brand was conceived in 1993 and has been appreciated from the start for the quality of its products combined with their affordable prices.

In the following years, the continuous pursuit for innovative solutions led the Nolan Group to designing a dedicated communication system for its helmets. N-Com® marketing starts in 2005: a full range of Bluetooth intercoms for all riders. Nolan®, X-lite®, Grex® and N-Com® are the four facets of the Nolan Group. One Group for one passion.

Nel 1998 nasce X-lite®. Un marchio nuovo per una seconda azienda, ma anche una vera sfida:il Gruppo Nolan sposta, infatti, i propri confini e le proprie conoscenze al segmento dei materiali compositi. Nel nuovo stabilimento dedicato esclusivamente alla produzione dei caschi in fibre composite le tecnologie industriali più avanzate convivono e si integrano con la manualità e la cura artigianale che la lavorazione dei materiali compositi richiede.

Ma "Gruppo Nolan" è sinonimo di tecnologia, sicurezza e design, anche nella ricerca del miglior rapporto qualità/prezzo e Grex® ne è la testimonianza. Il marchio nasce nel 1993 e viene subito apprezzato per l'elevato livello qualitativo unito al prezzo contenuto dei prodotti.

In seguito, la ricerca continua di soluzioni innovative spinge il Gruppo Nolan a sviluppare un sistemadi comunicazione specifico per i propri caschi. Nasce così, nel 2005, N-Com®: una gamma completa di interfoni Bluetooth per tutti i motociclisti.

The Nolan GroupItalian design L’ideazione di nuovi modelli, il loro design

sempre più raffinato, nonché la corretta gestione dei processi di sviluppo e progettazione sono gli aspetti in assoluto più importanti e delicati dell’attività del Gruppo Nolan.

Per questo motivo, nella divisione Ricerca e Sviluppo, i tradizionali sistemi di modellazione manuale, tuttora in uso, sono stati affiancati da evolute tecniche di progettazione computerizzata, in grado di perfezionare le diverse fasi del progetto: da quelle preliminari, che presuppongono il confronto con le strategie di marketing aziendale attraverso design ed engineering, fino alla messa in produzione industriale. Tutto ciò è coordinato da personale qualificato, formatosi per lo più all’interno dell’azienda, al quale è affidato il compito di mettere a punto prodotti innovativi, funzionali e dagli elevati contenuti tecnici, in grado di assicurare comfort esclusivo e calzata perfetta.

The conception of new models with more and more sophisticated designs, along

with proper management of the development and design processes, are the most essential and sensitive aspects in the activities of the Nolan Group.

For this reason, in our Research and Development division, the traditional hand moulding techniques, which are still in use, are accompanied by more advanced computer-aided design techniques, usedto improve the various steps within a project, beginning with the preliminary stages, subject to the Companymarketing strategy, through design and engineering, to the manufacturing process. All this is coordinated by qualified staff, mostly trained within the Company, whose task is to devise products that stand out; innovation, practicalityand high-tech features guaranteeing to provide sublime comfort and a perfect fit.

sono gestite all’interno dell’azienda: dal ricevimento delle materie prime al controllo e confezionamento finale del prodotto. In tal modo, vengono assicurati la costante evoluzione delle tecnologie di produzione, un servizio adeguato e curato alla clientela e la salvaguardia dei più elevati standard qualitativi.

Tutti i caschi del Gruppo Nolan sono garantiti per 5 anni dalla data di acquisto per qualsiasi difetto di materiali e fabbricazione.

Grex® helmets are managed within the Company:from the receipt of raw materials to testing the products and their eventual packaging.This is how constant evolution of production technology is ensured, together with an appropriate and thoughtful customer service and the highest quality standards.

Sicurezza: il fine ultimo ed il principio alla base di ogni singolo prodotto del Gruppo Nolan,un concetto che viene anteposto ad ogni altra considerazione di carattere estetico, tecnico oppure economico. Un laboratorio interno, riconosciuto idoneo e certificato dal Ministero dei Trasporti Italiano, verifica il soddisfacimento dei test richiesti dalle varie normative vigenti. I caschi vengono successivamente consegnati a laboratori esterni per ottenere le relative omologazioni; vengono poi avviati alla produzione di serie. Al laboratorio interno è, inoltre, affidato il compito di effettuare i controlli su materiali, prodotti e processo produttivo, attraverso prove distruttive a campione, al fine di garantire qualità costante.Grazie all’attenzione ed alla cura con cui operano,gli stabilimenti Nolan si possono fregiare della certificazione ISO 9001:2008, il sistema di gestione per la qualità dell’organizzazione che consente di migliorare continuamente i vari processi, dalla progettazione,allo sviluppo, alla produzione, alla vendita.

Inoltre, gli stabilimenti X-lite® hanno ottenuto la prestigiosa certificazione UNI EN ISO 14001, la norma che prevede il conseguimento di obiettividi miglioramento, in conformità con le norme legislative vigenti, attraverso una specifica politica ambientale.Un impegno consapevole da parte dell’azienda e dei suoi dipendenti, volto ad assicurare che i propri prodottie le relative lavorazioni non compromettano la salutedei lavoratori, dei consumatori e della popolazione.

Safety: the first and foremost target inspiring every single product by the Nolan Group.This concept is placed before all other considerations, be they aesthetic, technical and economic. An internal laboratory, recognised and certified by the Italian Ministry of Transport, ensures that regulatory compliance testing is carried out. The helmets are then sent to external laboratories for approval. Finally, line production can start.In addition, the internal laboratory oversees and guaranteesall checks on materials, products and production processes, using destructive tests on random samplesto ensure constant quality.Thanks to the attention and care to production, the Nolan plants have been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification, the Quality Management System for companies:this entails constant improvement of the different production stages, from product design to its development, production and sale.

The X-lite® plants have been awarded the prestigious UNI EN ISO 14001 certification, the quality standard that sets out improvement targets, in compliance with current egislations and by adopting specific environmental policies.A conscious commitment by the Company and its employees to ensure that our products and production processes do not compromise the health of our workers, consumers and hence of the population at large.

To the Nolan Group, races are synonymous with research and communication. Indeed, every single product is developed by testing the ideas and suggestions

of the numerous professional riders lined up by Nolan® and X-lite® for World Championships. This is how this highly reliable safety device takes shape and gets set for track and normal road use. Races are also the ideal testing ground: our specialised technicians from the Racing Service carry out a double task. They provide technical assistance to our riders, and pick up that valuable know-how and information, which can only be obtained in extreme product use conditions and eventually passed on to our Company for line production. Nolan has always sponsored new talents and coming riders from 125cc class through to MotoGP and SBK class.So, "four of the young talents" are now ours Superchampions: Casey, Jorge, Carlosand Marco.

01 IMBOTTITURA INTERNA DI CONFORTO L’imbottitura interna, amovibile e lavabile peri modelli e le versioni che lo prevedono, è realizzata con un innovativo tessuto con trattamento antibatterico,in grado di offrire elevata freschezza e massimo comfort in ogni stagione ed in ogni condizione di guida. Il comfort del tessuto è reso ancora più gradevole dal design degli interni che, grazie ad innovativi sistemi di ventilazione e nuove canalizzazioni presenti sulla calotta interna, assicurano una temperatura ideale anche per il motociclista più esigente. Le operazioni di smontaggio e montaggio dell’imbottitura interna sono rese particolarmente agevoli dall’esclusivo sistema di aggancio a scatto.

02 VENTILAZIONE INFERIOREConvoglia l’aria esterna sulla superficie interna della visiera per permetterne il disappannamento e garantire il ricambio d’aria.

03 SCHERMO PARASOLE (VPS)L’esclusivo VPS (Vision Protection System) è uno schermo parasole posizionato all’esterno o all’interno della visiera, semplice e comodo da utilizzare: basta abbassarlo per renderlo attivo, oppure sollevarlo per escluderlo dal campo visivo. È utile in tutte le situazioni, nei lunghi tratti extraurbani o per brevi percorsi cittadini.Il VPS può essere facilmente smontato, quando non necessario o per effettuare le normali operazioni di manutenzione e pulizia. È stampato in Lexan® OQ di SABIC Innovative Plastics (già General Electric Plastics) e prevede trattamento S/R (Scratch Resistant-resistente al graffio)e F/R (Fog Resistant-resistente all’appannamento).

06 SISTEMA DI RITENZIONENUOVO MICROLOCK2 e MICROLOCK: Il nuovo sgancio Microlock2 (patent pending), così come il tradizionale sgancio Microlock (brevettato) di Nolan®, si differenziano da quelli della medesima tipologia oggi presenti sul mercato, grazie al sistema a doppia leva. Tale sistema è composto da prima leva di apertura ergonomica in materiale termoplastico ed una seconda, dentata e di tenuta, in alluminio. La leva dentata libera la fascetta micrometrica ed è, pertanto, possibile aprire il sottogola solo dopo che la leva di apertura ha effettuato una rotazione molto ampia.Un importante accorgimento che riduce il rischio di aperture accidentali del sistema di ritenzione, senza tuttavia compromettere l’ergonomia e la facilità d’uso.Con il Microlock2 il tutto viene completato da una sensibile riduzione delle dimensioni e del peso dello sgancio rispetto al Microlock, oltre che da una fascetta micrometrica a 10 scatti.

DOPPI ANELLI: particolarmente indicato per un uso prolungato del casco, è il sistema di tenuta più apprezzato per l’utilizzo in pista.

07 SISTEMA DI ESTRAZIONE POSTERIORE Il sistema di estrazione posteriore assicura, di concerto con il sistema di ventilazione,il costante ricambio d’aria all’interno del casco, favorendo l’eliminazione dell’aria calda e viziata. Il flusso di aria fresca all’interno del casco è assicurato dalle canalizzazioni presenti sulla calotta interna e dall’imbottitura interna di conforto.

08 VENTILAZIONE SUPERIOREFavorisce l’immissione di aria fresca all’interno del casco. Può essere ad immissione diretta con flusso localizzato (ideale in presenza di temperature elevate) ed efficacia immediata, oppure con canalizzazione diffusa che assicura un’ottimale climatizzazione interna, evitando fastidiosi raffreddamenti localizzati. Alcuni modelli prevedono il sistema brevettato JSW (Jet Stream Wing) il quale, grazie all’effetto Venturi che si genera, agisce attraverso l’estrazione dall’interno del casco dell’aria calda e viziata, senza provocare fastidiose condizioni di raffreddamento localizzato.

01 INNER COMFORT PADDING The inner padding, which is removable and washable (for pre-set models andversions), is made by an innovative fabric, with antibacterial treatment, which can offer improved freshness and maximum comfort throughout the seasons and in all riding conditions. The fabric is made even more comfortable by the new design of the interior padding which, due to innovative ventilation systems and new air ducts in the inner shell, ensure a temperature which is ideal even for the most demanding motorcyclist. It can be easily removed and replaced, thanks to the exclusive snap mechanism.

02 LOWER VENTILATIONThis conveys external air onto the visor, thus ensuring defogging and ventilation inside the helmet.

03 SUNSCREEN (VPS)The exclusive VPS (Vision Protection System) is a simple and practical sunscreen that is positioned on the outside or inside of the visor: just lower or lift to use or exclude. Useful in all sorts of situations, whether it’s on long journeys out of town, or shorter trips about town. The VPS is easy to remove when it is not needed, or for normal maintenance and cleaning operations. It is moulded out of SABIC Innovative Plastics (former General Electric Plastics) Lexan® OQ and is S/R (Scratch Resistant) and F/R (Fog Resistant).

04 WIND PROTECTORIt allows improvement of helmet performance in particular use conditions preventing air infiltration from the chin area. It is easily removable.

05 ANTIFOG VISORThe Nolan Group was the first to adopt the Pinlock® technology to avoid the production of condensation and fog in the visor; today it is the only company in the industry which produces Pinlock® anti-fog visors in-house. Over time, this allowed the Nolan Group to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the problems, technologies and materials; today, thanks to this know-how and experiences, the company can guarantee a far superior product, with unmatched performances also in critical conditions of use. Moreover, thanks to the exclusive adjusting system adopted by the Nolan Group, the stretch of the Pinlock® visor can be adjusted from the outside, thus making removal unnecessary.

06 RETENTION SYSTEMNEW MICROLOCK2 AND MICROLOCK: Nolan®'s new (patent pending) Microlock2 release, as well as the traditional (patented) Microlock release, differ from all the other releases currently on the market for the double lever system. This system is made of a first thermoplastic ergonomic opening lever, and of a second aluminium toothed holding lever. The toothed lever releases the micrometric strip, thus the chin strap can only be open with a very broad rotation of the opening lever. This fundamental device minimizes the risk of accidental opening of the retention system, making it still ergonomic and easy to use. The Microlock2 comes together with considerable reduction of the size and weight of the release, compared to the traditional version, as well as with a 10-click micrometric strip.

D-RINGS: particularly suitable for an use of the helmet over long periods, it is the most popular retention system on racetracks.

07 REAR EXTRACTION SYSTEMThe rear extraction system, together with the ventilation system, ensures constant air exchange inside the helmet, promoting the removal of stale and air. The fresh air flow

inside the helmet is ensured by the air ducts in the inner shell and the "Clima Comfort" inner padding.

08 TOP VENTILATIONThis conveys fresh air into the helmet. It may be with direct entry of air (ideal with high temperature) for immediate efficacy, or with a network of channels providing excellent climate control and preventing localized cold spots. Some models feature the JSW (Jet Stream Wing) patented system: thanks to the Venturi effect, the hot and stale air is conveyed away from the inner part of the helmet; local infiltrations of cold air are thus avoided.

09 N-Com® is the line of communication systems designed by Nolan Group. Advanced technology and high performances for all the bikers: Bluetooth® intercom with the pillion, communication up to 4 bikes, FM radio, management via PC, multiple external connection via cable and via Bluetooth®. The Nolan GroupOuter shell

È stampata ad iniezione in policarbonato Lexan® EXL, la resina che, a parità di forma, spessore e procedimento, assicura prestazioni superiori

(ad altri materiali plastici), soprattutto in termini di resistenza ai forti impatti: durante la prova di resistenza all’urto, tale prodotto ha fatto registrare valori pari a 900/1000 J/m, contro i valori massimi di 550/600 J/m della resina ABS. Dal 1972, Nolan utilizza puro policarbonato, anziché ABS, la materia prima impiegata per lo stampaggio della quasi totalità dei caschi da motociclista presenti sul mercato. Grazie ad una maggiore densità, il policarbonato ha proprietà di resistenza meccanica ben superiori all’ABS, come dimostrato dagli scrupolosi test di laboratorio ai quali viene sottoposto:- a 80°C (temperatura che il casco Nolan® potrebbe sopportare in estate, chiuso in un bauletto), il policarbonato si mantiene stabile, mentre l’ABS conosce una deformazione;- alla temperatura di 100°C, il policarbonato mantiene ancora la sua stabilità dimensionale, mentre l’ABS si deforma completamente. Lo stesso test svolto a -20°C rivela come il policarbonato non presenti rotture alle temperature rigide, a differenza dell’ABS che diventa, invece, molto fragile.Infine, l’ABS contiene butadiene, sostanza chimica che nel tempo degrada rapidamente, tanto da cambiarne le proprietà meccaniche dopo soli 6-12 mesi. Il policarbonato,al contrario, mantiene la sua struttura originale per molti anni.Inoltre, la resina Lexan® EXL, ideata e prodotta dalla società SABIC Innovative Plastics (già General Electric Plastics), si contraddistingue anche per la sua resistenza termica: il "range" della resina Lexan® EXL di SABIC Innovative Plastics va da -30°C a +120°C (per l’ABS: da -20°C a +50°C). Nolan effettua prove regolari su calotte verniciate e non, sia a temperatura ambiente che condizionate a -20°C, attraverso un cannone ad aria compressa sul quale si posizionano calotta e mentoniera. Il test prevede sollecitazione del campione mediante un proiettile sparato all’energia di 400 Joule contro punti di impatto specifici.

È verniciata all’acqua (si impiegano vernici definite "ecologiche", in quanto contengono solventi in percentuali ridotte) con finitura protettiva Hi-Brite (Protective Hard Coating), a garanzia di una lucentezza del colore prolungata nel tempo. Anche il processo di verniciatura viene testato, attraverso una speciale cella termica all’interno della quale le calotte vengono condizionate con cicli termici specifici di 15 ore ad umidità relativa dal 10% al 75% e temperature da 40°C a 80°C. Si effettua anche test estremo di temperatura a 100°C, al fine di accertare che le decalcomanie risultino adeguate in qualsiasi condizione climatica.

It is injection moulded with General Electric polycarbonate Lexan® EXL, the resin that, with a defined shape, thickness and procedure, provides superior

performance level to other plastics, especially in terms of high impact resistance: during impact testing, this product showed values of 900/1000 J/m, instead of 550/600 J/m for ABS resin. Since 1972, Nolan has used pure polycarbonate instead of ABS, the raw material used for moulding in almost all marketed motorcyclist helmets. Thanks to its higher density, polycarbonate has mechanical resistance properties which far exceed those of ABS, as shown in the thorough laboratory tests it undergoes:- at 80°C (temperature to which the Nolan® helmet might be exposed in summer, when locked in the top-case), polycarbonate is stable while ABS shows signs of deformation;- at 100°C, polycarbonate still shows dimensional stability, contrary to ABS whichis completely deformed. The same test run at -20°C shows that polycarbonate does not present signs of breaks at very cold temperatures, differently from ABS which becomes very fragile.Finally, ABS contains butadiene, a chemical substance which degrades rapidly, modifying ABS mechanical properties after only 6-12 months. Polycarbonate, on the contrary, maintains its original structure unchanged for many years.Furthermore, the Lexan® resin EXL , invented and produced by the companySABIC Innovative Plastics Company (former General Electric Plastics), also distinguishes itself by its superior thermal resistance: the range ofSABIC Innovative Plastics Lexan® EXL resin is between -30°C and +120°C(for ABS: -20°C and +50°C). Nolan regularly tests painted and unpainted shells,at ambient temperature and at temperature of -20°C, by means of a compressedair pipe on which shell and chin guard are placed. The test consists of shooting a bulletwith a 400 Joule energy towards specific points of impact.

It is painted with water-based paints (which are recognized as being "ecological", because they contain a lower percentage of solvents), with Hi-Brite, the protective hard coating assuring a long-term brightness of the colours. The painting process is also tested, by means of a specific climatic chamber. Shells are conditioned with specific thermal cycles of 15 hours, with a relative humidity between 10% and 75% and temperatures between 40°C and 80°C.An extreme test is also carried out at a 100°C temperature. This will ensure the perfect durability of decals in any weather and temperature condition.

L’ impiego dei materiali più pregiati (carbonio, Kevlar®, vetro) può non essere sufficiente a garantire determinate prestazioni. Per tale ragione, continue

ricerche e sperimentazioni da parte di X-lite hanno generato nuovi tessuti, nei quali i diversi materiali si combinano in quantità e trame predefinite, in grado di rispondere al meglio durante le varie fasi di lavorazione della calotta.Ma, soprattutto, è l’equilibrio tra peso contenuto e resistenza agli impatti della struttura in composito ad avere raggiunto valori di assoluta eccellenza, proprio grazie all’impiego di tessuti esclusivi. Il ciclo di verniciatura abbina fasi estremamente automatizzate (come l’applicazione dei vari colori sulla calotta) a procedimenti assolutamente manuali (quali l’applicazione delle grafiche), in grado di garantire un elevato standard qualitativo della finitura superficiale.

The use of highly sophisticated materials such as Carbon, Kevlar® and glass is sometimes not enough to guarantee special performances.

This is why X-lite has carried out constant research and experiments to create new fabrics where the single materials are combined in predetermined quantities and patterns, which ensure the best results in the construction stages of the outer shell. This procedure gives the best balance between shell lightness and shock resistance.The painting stage is a combined automatic and manual process, assuring a high quality standard for surface finishing. The shells have the various colours applied in automated phases, and the graphics are applied manually.

Il tutto costantemente verificato attraverso prove di durata dei materiali.

INNER COMFORT PADDINGThe research and development at tracks, carried out in close co-operation with the Nolan Group official riders, the tests in the wind tunnel and the measurements taken by means of high-precision data detecting telemetric instruments have allowed Nolan to achieve high performances for their helmets inner padding in terms of shock absorption, breathability and comfort.The final result is achieved by the padding being lined with the best fabrics, hypoallergenic and breathable, which undergo the antibacterial treatment to ensure hygiene and freshness over long periods, not to mention the introduction of high-frequency thermowelding (UHF), partially to replace the more traditional stitching. Once finished, the padding then goes through wear tests.

SISTEMA DI RITENZIONEIl sistema di ritenzione è uno degli elementi fondamentali per la sicurezza ed è composto da: nastri, staffe, rivetti e sistema di chiusura. Questi componenti sono prodotti da fornitori opportunamente selezionati ed i materiali impiegati sono il risultato di ricerche scientifiche richieste dall’azienda. Oltre ai controlli già eseguiti dai fornitori, questi componenti vengono sottoposti ad una serie di test di routine in fase di accettazione. Tali controlli prevedono: prove di durata del sistema di chiusura (cicli di apertura/chiusura), prove di resistenza meccanica statiche e dinamiche, prove di usura. Tutta questa serie di verifiche si somma ai regolari controlli richiesti dagli standard omologativi internazionali.

RETENTION SYSTEMThe retention system is among the most important safety elements and includes bands, hangers, rivets, and the fastening system. Selected suppliers are in charge of providing these components and the materials used are the result of scientific research required by the company. Besides the regular checks carried out by the suppliers, these components undergo a series of routine tests upon acceptance. In-house checks include a fastening system duration test (opening/closing cycles), both static and dynamic mechanical resistance tests, and wear tests. All such tests are made in addition to the customary tests required by international homologation standards.

ELEMENTI DI FUNZIONALITÀI sistemi di ventilazione, i meccanismi laterali di apertura della visiera, gli elementi accessori di funzionalità (paravento e deflettore paranaso) sono sempre il risultato di specifici studi funzionali ed ergonomici, frutto dell’esperienza maturata dal Gruppo Nolan in anni di sviluppo del prodotto. Prima di procedere con la produzione, ogni componente è sottoposto ad un’attenta fase di collaudo, durante la quale viene simulato, con cicli esasperati, il funzionamento del particolare, al fine di escludere debolezze strutturali o malfunzionamenti. Per esempio, la visiera, vincolata ad un braccio meccanico,è sottoposta a 15.000 cicli di apertura/chiusura.Sono previste anche prove su strada, effettuate da tester specializzati, particolarmente abili ed allenati nel cogliere anche i minimi dettagli relativi al comportamento del casco durante la marcia.

FUNCTIONALITY ELEMENTSThe ventilation systems, the visor opening lateral mechanisms, the accessories for increased functionality (wind protector and breath deflector) follow on the policy of specific studies about functionality and ergonomics, springing from the experience in product development the Nolan Group has gathered over the years. Prior to processing, all components undergo a test where extreme use cycles are carried out to simulate the movement of each element, in order to rule out the occurrence of structural faults or malfunction. For instance, the visor, fastened to a mechanical arm, is submitted to 15,000 opening/closing cycles. Then, roadtests are performed by specialized testers who are particularly skilled and trained to grasp even the slightest detail regarding the helmet reactions while riding.

APERTURA MENTONIERA E MECCANISMO DI ROTAZIONE VISIERA Il sistema di apertura della mentoniera è caratterizzato dal movimento di rotazione con traiettoria ellittica, che riduce l’area frontale con la mentoniera aperta e ne impedisce la chiusura accidentale. Il dispositivo DOUBLE ACTION, con fermo visiera di sicurezza, evita l’apertura accidentale della visiera. CHIN GUARD OPENING AND VISOR ROTATION MECHANISM The chin guard opening system features a rotation mechanism with an elliptical movement which reduces the helmet front section and prevents accidental closure of the guard/visor when open. The DOUBLE ACTION system, with safety visor lock, prevents the visor accidental opening. X-1002 is fitted with the SMART LIFT system, which has two coupled locking levers with single-handed opening through the left lever.

01 TOP VENTILATIONThe frontal air intake, which is controlled by a soft touch pressure key, directs the air inside the helmet through a network of channels to provide excellent climate control, and prevents localized cold spots.

01 LOWER VENTILATION The chin guard air intake works with the top vent, and is fitted with a special diffuser that directs the airflow throughout the helmet as well as onto the inside of the visor to prevent misting.

X-1002 is ready for the N-Com® X-Series communication system. A full-face helmet with a flip-up chin guard fitted with

a unique elliptical flip-up system which reduces the front section of the helmet to a minimum (even with the chin guard open) and prevents accidental closure. Wind tunnel tests on X-1002, with the front section in both the open and closed position, show that X-1002 has the best results compared to other helmets of the same category.

SUNSCREEN (VPS)The exclusive VPS (Vision Protection System) is a simple and practical sunscreen that is positioned on the outside of the visor: just lower or lift to use or exclude. Useful in all sorts of situations, whether it’s on long journeys out of town, or shorter trips about town. Its innovative rotating mechanism – synchronised with the opening of the visor and the lifting of the chin guard – ensures perfect functioning in all riding conditions. 01 VISIERALa visiera di X-802 è completamente nuova, con importanti novità a livello progettuale che si traducono in una notevole ampiezza del campo visivo ed un’ottima geometria di rotazione di cui beneficiano tutte le operazioni di apertura, chiusura ed applicazione del sistema Pinlock®, la visierina interna con profilo siliconato resistente all’appannamento (in dotazione). 01 VISORThe visor of X-802 is completely new, with conspicuous design innovations that result in an impressively wide field of vision and an excellent rotation mechanism, which benefits all movements for opening, closing, and application of the Pinlock® system (the standard inner visor with a fog-resistant silicone-sealed profile).The curved outer surface model is equipped with this system, and it is also available in the flat model that is fit for the use of outer tear-off visors.The new visor is flanked by the rotational mechanism that has been fit on all Nolan® full-face helmets for a number of years. The mechanism is light, reliable with atool-free quick release visor, 4 mm adjustment of the air draught between the visorand the window trim, and DOUBLE ACTION* that: A visor lock, to prevent accidental visor opening, especially at high speeds; B visor demisting, at low speeds or during stops, by a minimum visor opening.

X-802 is the racing composite fibre helmet of Nolan Group. This design represents the culmination of years of experience in

the top levels of motorcycle racing competitions. Each component (shell, visor, liner, and ventilation system)is the product of innovative development, aimed at providing a product with constant quality and perfect performance. Each part was carefully designed considering top performance and developed along an experimental and test scheme in the MotoGP. Already at the beginning of the 2008 motorcycle racing season, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, and other riders sponsored by Nolan Group, tested and experimented many of the innovative technical solutions found on this helmet which is now available for the most serious and demanding riders.

03 ADJUSTABLE STABILITY DEVICE (ASD)Nella parte posteriore della calotta è integrato un innovativo spoiler aerodinamico, con profilo variabile. Frutto di lunghe esperienze e test in galleria del vento ed in pista, il nuovo spoiler ottimizza il comportamento aerodinamico del casco durante la guida, stabilizzandolo alle alte velocità e favorendo l’estrazione dell’aria calda dall’interno, attraverso fori di estrazione integrati nello spoiler stesso. Il suo profilo, quindi la sua portata aerodinamica, può essere regolato nelle due configurazioni disponibili, per meglio adattarsi a diverse posizioni e stili di guida.

02 REMOVABLE COMFORT PADDING IN UNITHERMThe UNITHERM fabric used to make the padding of X-802 is the top in comfort. It is the most up-to-date elasticised microfibre that actively regulates breathability by rapidly dispersing perspiration. The removable cheek pads offer the greatly appreciated STEADYFIT, essential to maintaining the helmet steady at high speeds thanks to its triple differentiated density configuration, whichprovides excellent comfort even under conditions of substantial cheek pressure.

03 ADJUSTABLE STABILITY DEVICE (ASD)An innovative aerodynamic adjustable rear spoiler is integrated in the shell.The product of experience and testing in the wind tunnel and on track, the newspoiler optimizes the aerodynamics of the helmet, stabilizing it at high speeds, and assists the extraction of hot air from the interior through outlet vents integrated directly in the spoiler. Its profile, and thus its aerodynamics, can be adjusted toone of the two available configurations to better suit riders’ different positions and styles.

In corrispondenza della mentoniera, una presa d’aria provvede a convogliare l’aria sulla superficie interna della visiera, mentre una seconda presa d’aria canalizza il flusso d’aria sulla bocca del pilota. Doppia funzione, invece, per le prese d’aria laterali che, in posizione aperta, fungono da prese d’aria aggiuntive (favorendo l’ingresso del flusso d’aria nella zona del mento), mentre in posizione chiusa permettono all’aria calda e viziata di defluire dalla zona mento, a garanzia di ottimale comfort nella zona inferiore del casco.La ventilazione è, inoltre, composta da una presa d’aria frontale e da una presa d’aria superiore che, grazie alle canalizzazioni interne, distribuisce l’aria nella zona superiore della testa. 03 VENTILATION – Touring Ventilation System (TVS)X-702's innovative ventilation system (TVS) guarantees ideal comfort inall riding conditions. One air intake in the chin guard directs the air on the inner surface of the visor, while a second air intake directs the air flow on the rider's mouth. Side air intakes have a double function: when open they are extra air intakes facilitating the air flow in the chin area, when close, they direct hot and stale air out of the chin area, guaranteeing optimal comfort in the lower part of the helmet. The ventilation system also includes frontal and upper air intakes. Thanks to the inner air channels, these air intakes distribute air in the upper part of the head. The ventilation system is then completed by rear air extractors, guaranteeing constant and efficient air circulation.

04 REMOVABLE INNER COMFORT PADDINGThe inner padding of the new X-702 can be easily removed and washed. It is made of highly breathable, soft and fresh fabrics with antibacterial treatment which ensure excellent comfort. The reflective inserts, enriching the comfort padding, improves the rider's visibility at night and, consequently, the rider's active safety.

01 VISIERA E MECCANISMI DI ROTAZIONEStampata ad iniezione in Lexan® OQ di SABIC Innovative Plastics (già General Electric Plastics), la visiera è resistente al graffio e presenta una superficie esterna curva. È, inoltre, predisposta di serie per l’applicazione del sistema Pinlock®, la visierina interna resistente all’appannamento. I meccanismi laterali, leggeri ed affidabili, permettono le funzioni di rotazionein apertura e chiusura della visiera, con posizioni intermedie, sgancio rapido senza uso di utensili e regolazione del tiraggio (4 mm) tra visiera e guarnizione oblò. Il dispositivo DOUBLE ACTION* rende possibili le seguenti due funzioni: - disappannamento della visiera, a bassa velocità oppure in caso di sosta, mediante apertura minima della stessa; - blocco visiera, per impedirne l’apertura accidentale, soprattutto a velocità elevate.

02 VENTILAZIONEL’innovativo sistema di ventilazione, frutto di mesi di test su strada ed in laboratorio, è composto da: - ventilazione superiore. Due prese d’aria, ad attivazione separata, convogliano l’aria direttamente all’interno del casco, attraverso una canalizzazione diffusa che consente l’aerazione interna, impedendo fastidiosi raffreddamenti localizzati;

01 VISOR AND ROTATION MECHANISMSInjection moulded in SABIC Innovative Plastics (former General Electric Plastics) Lexan® OQ, the visor is scratch-resistant and has a curved surface. Moreover, as a standard feature, it is already set for the Pinlock® system attachment. Light and sturdy, the side mechanisms allow up and down visor rotation with intermediate positions; rapid opening of the visor without the need for special implements; adjustment of the air draught (4 mm) between the visor and the trim. The DOUBLE ACTION* device allows the following two functions: - visor demisting, at low speeds or during stops, by a minimum visor opening; - visor lock, to avoid accidental visor opening, especially at high speeds.

02 VENTILATIONIts innovative ventilation system, the result of months of tests on the road and in the laboratory, is made up of: - top ventilation. Two air intakes, with separate activation, conveying the air directly into the helmet, through distribution channels allowing internal ventilation, preventing annoying localised cooling;

La presa d’aria inferiore, attivabile premendo un tasto a pressione centrale, consente l’ingresso dell’aria direttamente all’interno del casco, garantendo un ricambio costante d’aria davanti alla bocca del pilota. Parte dell’aria, inoltre, viene convogliata sulla superficie interna della visiera, limitando in tal modo l’appannamento e la formazione della condensa; - sistema di estrazione posteriore. Assicura il costante ricambio d’aria all’interno del casco, rendendo possibile il deflusso dell’aria calda e viziata e garantendo, di conseguenza, una temperatura ideale per il pilota.

03 IMBOTTITURA DI CONFORTO AMOVIBILEX-602 offre un comfort eccezionale, frutto dello specifico know-how acquisito dai tecnici dell’azienda ed affinato attraverso numerose prove dinamiche di utilizzo. L’interno, completamente estraibile e lavabile, è realizzato con un tessuto in microfibra di nuova generazione e di eccellente qualità che assicura un controllo attivo della traspirazione, garantendo al pilota elevato comfort. Inoltre, il trattamento antibatterico garantisce igiene e freschezza superiori, prevenendo per lungo tempo la formazione di odori sgradevoli.

03 REMOVABLE COMFORT PADDINGX-602 gives exceptional comfort. This is the result of the experience and know-how of the Company technical experts, enhanced and consolidated through numerous dynamic user tests. The liner, completely removable and washable, is made of the most up-to-date and high-quality microfibre fabric which actively regulates breathability, so as to provide the rider with a high degree of comfort.More over, the antibacterial treatment ensures superior hygene and freshness, thus preventing unpleasant odours.

01 VENTILAZIONEL’innovativo sistema di ventilazione comprende un’ampia e funzionale presa d’aria in zona mento che rende ancora più efficace la visierina antiappannamento Pinlock® FSB di cui è dotato di serie il nuovo X-551. La circolazione dell’aria all’interno del casco è assicurata anche della presa d’aria frontale e dalle due prese d’aria superiori che, grazie all’estrattore posteriore, garantiscono un costante ricircolo d’aria all’interno del casco anche in condizioni di utilizzo estreme.

01 VENTILATIONThe innovative ventilation system includes a wide and functional air intake in the chin area that makes even more effective Pinlock® fog resistant inner visor FSB system, which is fitted as standard in the new X-551. The air flow inside the helmet is also ensured by the front air intake and the two upper air intakes which, thanks to a rear extractor, guarantee a constant air flow inside the helmet even in extreme use conditions.

è stato, infatti, studiato per un utilizzo "crossover" della moto: materiali pregiati per la stratificazione della calotta, tessuti tecnici particolarmente confortevoli per la confezione degli interni, schermo parasole VPS interno, predisposizione di serie per il sistema di comunicazione N-Com® X-Series (Pag. 142 per maggiori informazioni). Le sue linee filanti ma "muscolose" sono rese ancora più accattivanti dalla visiera (perfettamente combinata con il design del prodotto), dall’ampio frontino, dal sistema di ventilazione completo e funzionale. Il frontino assicura adeguata protezione dai raggi solari; è, inoltre, garanzia di sicurezza in caso di utilizzo del casco su percorsi sterrati. X-551 può essere utilizzato nella sua dotazione completa, oppure senza frontino o senza visiera.

X-551 is the composite fibre helmet designed for riders of motard and street enduro motorbikes. Every

detail was designed for a "crossover" use of the motorcycle: choice materials for the layers of the shell, extra comfor table high-tech fabrics for the interior, internal VPS sunscreen, standard ready for the N-Com® X-Series communication system ( For fur ther information see page 142) .I ts streamlined but "muscular" lines are made even more at tractive by the visor (per fectly combined with product design) , the large peak and the complete and practical ventilation system. The peak provides adequate protection from sunlight, and is also a guarantee of safety while using the helmet on dir t roads. The X-551 can be used in its full configuration or without the peak or the visor.

01 VENTILAZIONEL’aria viene convogliata all’interno del casco mediante due prese d’aria frontali ed altre due posizionate nella parte superiore della calotta, azionabili separatamente.Due spoiler posteriori provvedono all’estrazione dell’aria calda dall’interno.La circolazione dell’aria è, inoltre, ottimizzata da una speciale canalizzazione ricavata nella calotta interna del casco. La ventilazione inferiore è, invece, assicurata da una presa d’aria centrale, posizionata sulla mentoniera, che agevola l’ingresso diretto dell’aria. Sono, inoltre, presenti due estrattori laterali, a garanzia di un ricambio costante che favorisce la respirazione del pilota.

02 IMBOTTITURA DI CONFORTO AMOVIBILECompletamente estraibile e lavabile, l’interno è realizzato con materiali estremamente ricercati. L’impiego dell’esclusivo tessuto UNITHERM, in microfibra elasticizzata, favorisce il controllo della traspirazione. UNITHERM è, infatti, termoregolante: asciutto e fresco in ogni condizione, grazie alla rapida dispersione dell’umidità corporea. La struttura dell’imbottitura interna favorisce la circolazione dell’aria, ottimizzando, pertanto, la ventilazione. Lo smontaggio è particolarmente agevole, grazie ai nuovi e leggeri telaietti che caratterizzano il sistema di aggancio.

01 VENTILATIONAir is directed into the helmet via two frontal air intakes and two other vents positioned in the upper part of the shell, which can be individually operated. Two rear spoilers extract hot air from the inside. Air circulation is further optimized by special ducts located in the helmet inner shell. Lower ventilation is managed by a central air intake, positioned in the chin guard, which facilitates direct air input. There are also two side extractors which assure constant air flow.

02 REMOVABLE COMFORT PADDINGA new fully removable and washable liner is manufactured exclusively in UNITHERM, an extremely sophisticated and breathable material in stretch microfibre. UNITHERM is thermoregulating: dry and cool in all weather conditions, thanks to its ability to rapidly disperse body moisture. The structure of the padding is designed to improve air circulation and optimize the ventilation. Removing the liner is quick and easy with a new hook and lock retaining system.

The mechanism is light, reliable with a tool-free quick release visor, 4 mm adjustment of the air draught between the visor and the sealing trim.

REMOVABLE COMFORT PADDINGThe padding is made from UNITHERM LIGHT, a special fabric that ensures excellent performance and comfort. It is the most up-to-date elasticised microfibre that guarantees active regulation of breathability by rapidly dispersing perspiration. The special shape of the liner ensures optimum air flow inside the helmet. The removable cheek pads ensure an exact and comfortable fit, which is appreciable both on long road trips and short city jaunts.

X-lite® range

amovibile supera i test omologativi previsti dalla normativa ECE per i caschi integrali (omologazione P/J); un semplice e pratico sistema di aggancio consente di trasformare X-402 GT da jet in integrale e viceversa. Il nuovo design delle prese d’aria superiori rende ancora più facile ed intuitiva l’attivazione delle stesse, anche in presenza di guanti. Grazie a queste innovazioni, X-402 GT diventa un casco multifunzionale, in grado di offrire massimo comfort e protezione in tutte le stagioni e di garantire un’ampia visuale in ogni condizione di utilizzo. Una validissima alternativa che cambia lo scenario delle tipologie tradizionali del casco da moto.

X-402 is changed into X-402 GT. "GT" stands for "Grand Touring", the true soul of this jet model. The removable protective chin guard has

passed the homologation tests required by the ECE regulations for full-face helmets (P/J approval). A simple and practical fastening system allows you to transform X-402 GT from open-face to full-face and the other way round. 0103 SCHERMO PARASOLE (Vision Protection System)Un nuovo VPS interno equipaggia X-402 GT e ne completa l’allestimento di altissimo livello. Particolare cura ed attenzione sono state prestate nella progettazione di questo componente ed il suo funzionamento è molto efficace ed ergonomico.Con semplici ed intuitive operazioni, agevolate dal pratico tasto esterno di comando, il VPS può essere attivato (abbassandolo) o ritirato all’interno della calotta in modo veloce e sicuro in ogni condizione di utilizzo, anche in presenza di repentini cambi di luminosità esterna. Prevede trattamento S/R (Scratch Resistant-resistente al graffio) e F/R (Fog Resistant-resistente all'appannamento). 04 PROTECTIVE CHIN GUARDThe new protective chin guard allows to rapidly change the helmet from open-face to full-face and the other way round (P/J approved helmet).Easy to install, the wind protector makes this helmet (with chin guard fastened) the ideal one for use during the winter months; in addition, it ensures optimum sealing in the lower part of the helmet, preventing possible air infiltration in the chin area.The air intakes, that can be activated individually, ensure a pleasant climate inside the helmet and makes even more effective Pinlock® fog resistant inner visor FSB, which is fitted as standard in the new X-402 GT.

accessorio. Rimuovendo gli inserti in gomma, è possibile installare la mentoniera e trasformare X-402 T in integrale. X-402 T è omologato P/J e nella sua configurazione con mentoniera assemblata (acquistabile a parte) supera i test omologativi previsti dalla normativa ECE per i caschi integrali. 03 SISTEMA DI APERTURA DELLA MENTONIERA (DUAL ACTION)N104 è dotato dell’esclusivo sistema di apertura della mentoniera DUAL ACTION (brevettato) che, posizionato al centro della mentoniera, ne consente l’apertura con una sola mano. Il meccanismo a doppia azione riduce il rischio di aperture accidentali:solo dopo avere azionato la prima leva di sblocco (o sicura) è, infatti, possibile sollevarela mentoniera, agendo sulla seconda leva.

Facilmente smontabilee lavabile, l’imbottitura interna del nuovo N104 è realizzata in tessuti altamente traspiranti, morbidi e freschi, in grado di assicurare eccellente comfort anche nei lunghi tragitti.

02 CHIN GUARD ROTATION MOVEMENTThe (patented) chin guard rotation movement with elliptical trajectory makes it possibleto keep the total size of the helmet's front section to a minimum, when the chin guard is open. The "sail" effect is consequently highly reduced and riding comfort isstill guaranteed, even when the chin guard is lifted.

03 DUAL ACTION CHIN GUARD OPENING SYSTEM The N104 version is fitted with the exclusive (patented) DUAL ACTION chin guard opening system. Positioned in the centre of the chin guard, it allows for easy, one-handed opening.The dual action opening mechanism reduces the risk of accidental opening to a minimum: the chin guard can be opened only operating the first release lever (or safety lock) andthen activating the second lever.

04 "ULTRAWIDE" VISOR The visor assembled on the new N104 guarantees maximum riding comfort: the large surface makes it, indeed, possible to have a broader view, also lateral, thus highly increasing active safety.It can be removed easily and quickly, without any tools, for maintenance and/or replacement.It is also equipped with* Pinlock® anti-fog visor with silicone-sealed profile (FSB).

05 ANTI-FOG VISORThe N104 is equipped* with Pinlock® anti-fog visor with silicone-sealed profile (FSB).The exclusive shape of the visor offers a considerably broader field of vision, eliminating any interference in the upper part of the visor.

06 VISION PROTECTION SYSTEM (VPS) The internal sunscreen on the new N104 is easy to activate, thanks to the innovative and intuitive (patent pending) activating system. It allows automatic and immediate retraction of the screen in the standby position, thus simplifying and speeding up the retraction process (e.g. when entering a tunnel).The internal sunscreen (VPS) is S/R (Scratch Resistant) and F/R (Fog Resistant) treated.

07 VENTILATION The ventilation of the helmet's upper part uses the system.It ensures optimal ventilation where the rider's head most requires it avoiding anydispersion: the air is, indeed, extracted and forced into the most critical areas to guarantee maximum comfort also in extreme riding conditions.The new N104 innovative ventilation system is also equipped with an air intake in the chin guard, an air intake in the frontal area and two rear extractors recycling air inside the helmet.

08 INNER COMFORT PADDING It is made up of removable cheek pads, inner liner, neck roll and wind protector.The inner padding of the new N104 is easily removable and washable and it is made of highly breathable, soft and fresh fabrics which ensure excellent comfort also in long rides.The fabric used also undergo antibacterial treatment.

09 NUOVO SISTEMA DI RITENZIONE MICROLOCK2

N104 è equipaggiato con il nuovo sistema di ritenzione con regolazione micrometrica Microlock2. Il nuovo sgancio Microlock2 (patent pending), così come il tradizionale sgancio Microlock (brevettato) di Nolan, si differenziano da quelli della medesima tipologia oggi presenti sul mercato, grazie al sistema a doppia leva.Tale sistema è composto da una leva di apertura ergonomica in materiale termoplastico ed una seconda, dentata e di tenuta, in alluminio. La leva dentata libera la fascetta micrometrica ed è, pertanto, possibile aprire il sottogola solo dopo che la leva di apertura ha effettuato una rotazione molto ampia.Un importante accorgimento che riduce la possibilità di aperture involontarie del sistema di ritenzione, senza compromettere l’ergonomia e la facilità d’uso.Con il Microlock2 il tutto viene completato da una sensibile riduzione delle dimensioni e del peso dello sgancio rispetto al Microlock, oltre che da una fascetta micrometrica a 10 scatti. 10 PREDISPOSIZIONE N-COM®

09 NEW MICROLOCK RETENTION SYSTEM2 The N104 version is equipped with the new Microlock2 The new (patent pending) Microlock2 release, as the traditional (patented) Microlock release by Nolan, differ from all other releases currently on the market for their double lever system.This system consists of a thermoplastic ergonomic opening lever, and of a second aluminium toothed and holding lever. The toothed lever releases the micrometric strip, thus the chin strap can only be open with a very broad rotation of the opening lever.This important device minimizes the possibility of unintentional opening of the retention system, making it still ergonomic and easy to use.The Microlock2 comes together with considerable reduction of the size and weight of the release, compared to the traditional version, as well as with a 10-click micrometric strip.

10 SET UP FOR N-COM® The N104 is set up to be equipped with the N-Com® B4 communication system, designed expressly for this new version. The N104 has been approved with the communication system installed and, therefore, complies with the UN/ECE 22-05 standard.

11 HOMOLOGATION STANDARD The new N104 is P/J approved, in compliance with the legislation currently in forceUN/ECE 22-05. P/J approval allow the motorcyclist to ride the vehicle both with open and closed chin guard.

01 VISORThe visor of X-802 is completely new, with conspicuous design innovations that result in an impressively wide field of vision and an excellent rotation mechanism, which benefits all movements for opening, closing, and application of the Nolan Top Fog Resistant system (the standard inner visor with a fog-resistant silicone-sealed profile).The curved outer surface model is equipped with this system, and it is also available in the flat model that is fit for the use of outer tear-off visors.The new visor is flanked by the rotational mechanism that has been fit on all Nolan® full-face helmets for a number of years. X-802 is the racing composite fibre helmet of Nolan Group.This design represents the culmination of years

of experience in the top levels of motorcycle racing competitions. Each component (shell, visor, liner, and ventilation system) is the product of innovative development, aimed at providing a product with constant quality and perfect performance. Each part was carefully designed considering top performance and developed alongan experimental and test scheme in the MotoGP. Already at the beginning of the 2008 motorcycle racing season, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, and other riders sponsored by Nolan Group, tested and experimented many of the innovative technical solutions found on this helmet which is now available for the most serious and demanding riders.

02 IMBOTTITURA DI CONFORTO AMOVIBILE IN UNITHERMIl tessuto UNITHERM utilizzato per la realizzazione dell’interno che equipaggia X-802 rappresenta il massimo delle prestazioni in termini di comfort. Si tratta di una microfibra elasticizzata di nuova generazione, capace di esercitare un controllo attivo della traspirazione, mediante una rapida dispersione dell’umidità corporea. I guanciali amovibili ripropongono l’ormai apprezzata configurazione STEADYFIT a tripla densità differenziata, in grado di fornire un elevato comfort, pur in presenza di una significativa pressione sulle guance, indispensabile per mantenere il casco stabile anche in pista a velocità elevate.

03 ADJUSTABLE STABILITY DEVICE (ASD)Nella parte posteriore della calotta è integrato un innovativo spoiler aerodinamico, con profilo variabile. Frutto di lunghe esperienze e test in galleria del vento ed in pista, il nuovo spoiler ottimizza il comportamento aerodinamico del casco durante la guida, stabilizzandolo alle alte velocità e favorendo l’estrazione dell’aria calda dall’interno, attraverso fori di estrazione integrati nello spoiler stesso. Il suo profilo, quindi la sua portata aerodinamica, può essere regolato nelle due configurazioni disponibili, per meglio adattarsi a diverse posizioni e stili di guida.

02 REMOVABLE COMFORT PADDING IN UNITHERMThe UNITHERM fabric used to make the padding of X-802 is the top in comfort. It is the most up-to-date elasticised microfibre that actively regulates breathability by rapidly dispersing perspiration. The removable cheek pads offer the greatly appreciated STEADYFIT, essential to maintaining the helmet steady at high speeds thanks to its triple differentiated density configuration, whichprovides excellent comfort even under conditions of substantial cheek pressure.

03 ADJUSTABLE STABILITY DEVICE (ASD)An innovative aerodynamic adjustable rear spoiler is integrated in the shell.The product of experience and testing in the wind tunnel and on track, the newspoiler optimizes the aerodynamics of the helmet, stabilizing it at high speeds, and assists the extraction of hot air from the interior through outlet vents integrated directly in the spoiler. Its profile, and thus its aerodynamics, can be adjusted toone of the two available configurations to better suit riders’ different positions and styles.

01 TOP VENTILATION SYSTEMThe air intake located on the front part of the shell allows the conveyance of air into the shell, no matter if the VPS sunscreen is lowered or lifted.There are two versions of upper air intakes according to the helmet model range: in addition to the two standard (open/closed) positions for all versions, the "top of the line" versions are also equipped with an air extraction position.The extractor recessed into the rear of the shell, under the spoiler, ensures optimal dispersion of inner heat.

02 LOWER VENTILATION SYSTEMThe air intakes, with their perforated cover plates with metal finishing, ensure ventilation of the lower part of the helmet. The innovative lower ventilation system is controlled by a convenient, easy to handle device that, located on the bottom of the chin guard, allows conveying air directly to the visor to limit fogging and formation of condensation.

02 VISIERA "ULTRAWIDE"N71 è dotato di un’ampia visiera che offre un comfort di guida ineguagliabile: la sua vasta superficie assicura, infatti, una maggiore visuale, anche laterale, aumentando in tal modo la sicurezza attiva. Può essere facilmente e rapidamente rimossa, senza l’ausilio di utensili, per le operazioni di manutenzione e/o sostituzione. E’, inoltre, dotata di visierina antiappannante Pinlock® con profilo in silicone incassato (FSB-IN).

03 VISIERINA ANTIAPPANNAMENTO N71 è dotato di visierina antiappannamento Pinlock® con bordino in silicone (FSB-IN).L'esclusiva conformazione della visierina offre un campo di visione particolarmente ampio ed esclude interferenze nella parte superiore della visiera. 04 VPS (Vision Protection System)Lo schermo parasole interno (VPS) prevede trattamento S/R (Scratch Resistant – resistente al graffio) e F/R (Fog Resistant – resistente all’appannamento).

N71 è dotato di imbottitura interna di conforto amovibile e lavabile.

04 VPS (Vision Protection System)The internal sunscreen (VPS) features S/R (Scratch Resistant) and F/R (Fog Resistant) treatement.

The N71 is fitted with a removable and washable inner comfort padding.

Il design di N42E si coniuga con l’innovativo sistema di ventilazione: la presa d’aria frontale, semi-incassata, convoglia l’aria direttamente all’interno del casco, attraverso una canalizzazione diffusa che consente una distribuzione uniforme del flusso d’aria, evitando fastidiosi fenomeni di raffreddamento localizzato. Il costante ricircolo dell’aria è assicurato dall’estrattore posteriore, che favorisce l’uscita dell’aria calda e viziata. La visiera formato "extra long" assicura un’eccellente protezione dall’aria e può ospitare il praticissimo schermo parasole (VPS). Il meccanismo visiera rende possibile lo smontaggio della stessa, senza dovere ricorrere ad attrezzi. Agisce unicamente con visiera in posizione apertae ne evita l’apertura accidentale durante l’utilizzo. The design of N42E is combined with the innovative ventilation system: the semi-recessed front air intake channels the air directly inside the helmet, through inner ducts which grant an even air flow distribution, avoiding harmful local cooling. The rear extractor facilitates expulsion of warm and harmful air, thus assuring a constant air circulation. The "extra-long" visor provides outstanding air protection and is ready to be equipped with the sunscreen (VPS). The quick-change/tool-free visor mechanism operates with the visor in open position only, to avoid accidental opening while riding.N42E is equipped with the most up-to-date "Clima Comfort" padding: removable and washable, it is made of an ergonomically superior fabric assuring coolness all year round, thanks also to the new inner ducts.

N33 è un prodotto assolutamente versatile, grazie alle varie combinazioni visiera/VPS possibili.

01 - Il sistema di ventilazione superiore è composto da una presa d’aria frontale e due prese d’aria con immissione diretta. Le due alette laterali a scomparsa provvedono all’espulsione dell’aria calda e viziata, assicurando un costante ricambio. Completa il sistema di ventilazione un estrattore posteriore per scarico aria che ricopre l’intera lunghezza del casco.

02 - La visiera formato "extra long" è bombata ed assicura un’eccellente protezione dall’aria. Il praticissimo schermo parasole (VPS) risulta posizionato tra la calotta e la visiera stessa, al fine di contenere al massimo le dimensioni del prodotto. Prevede trattamento S/R (Scratch Resistant – resistente al graffio).

N33 è dotato di imbottitura interna di conforto amovibile e lavabile. I nuovi nottoli metallizzati rendono questo modello esteticamente ancora più prezioso.

The N33 is an absolutely versatile product, due to the various possible combinationsfor visor/VPS.

01 - The top ventilation system consists of one frontal air intake and two direct air intakes. The two slide-over side extractors allow warm and stale air to flow out, ensuring a constant change of air. The ventilation system has also a rear hot air extractor that covers the entire length of the helmet.

02 - The "extra long" visor is convex and provides excellent air protection. The extremely practical VPS (Vision Protection System) sunscreen is positioned between the shell and the visor itself in order to optimize the size of the product. It features the S/R (Scratch Resistant) treatment.

The N33 is fitted with a removable and washable inner comfort padding. The new metal cover plates make this model even more valuable.

Basic Kit2 MCS is a product special designed for connection between Nolan® N-Com® helmets and the audio systems pre-installed on the motorbikes. Available for: Honda Goldwing, Harley Davidson.

Con Bluetooth Kit3 (abbinato a Basic Kit2) è possibile: • Collegarsi via Bluetooth® ad un telefono, ad un lettore Mp3 A2DP o ad un navigatore satellitare • Collegarsi a sorgenti multimediali (lettori Mp3, GPS, Radio PMR e GMRS, sistemi audio delle moto) con un cavo Multimedia Wire2 • Dialogare via Bluetooth® fino a 500 metri* • Dialogare via cavo con il passeggero (equipaggiato con Basic Kit2 o Basic kit MULTI)

With Bluetooth kit3 (+Basic kit2) installed on both helmets it is possible to: • Connect the helmet via Bluetooth® to a mobile phone, a A2DP Mp3 player or a GPS • Connect the helmet to multimedia devices (Mp3 players, GPS, PMR-GMRS radio, audio systems on board your motorcycle) by means of the cable Multimedia Wire2 • Talk in intercom mode via Bluetooth up to 500 metres* • Talk in intercom mode via cable with the passenger (equipped with Basic kit2 or Basic kit MULTI)
