NOTE: An extra weight entry decimal place is available for lab grade scales. If your scale resolves the usual 0.1 grain, enter only what
it reads, ignoring the last zero. The extra decimal place in the result is due to the water density compensation and may be entered in
QuickLOAD as it a ears.

For resized case water capacity, remove the decapper from your die before sizing to leave the fired primer in place as a plug. If you are using
new cases, you will later fire the one used in this measurement for fired case water capacity calculation, so, pick an undented one of average
weight from your lot. Run it far enough into the sizer to size and expand the neck, but leave the rest unsized. In either case, trim after sizing. For the new case, plug the primer pocket with clay to take the place of the spent primer as a plug. Weigh the case empty, then enter the resulting
number of grains in the second yellow cell of the second calculator below (just click in the cell and type over top of old entry). Fill it with water
carefully until the water is exactly level with the case mouth (no meniscus, positive or negative). Tap it to be sure no air bubbles are trapped
inside. Make sure no water drops get on the outside. Weigh it again, and enter the result in the third yellow cell in the second calculator below.
Enter the temperature of the water in the bottom yellow cell of the second calculator.
Weighing Instructions: For QuickLOAD or other internal pressure calculations, you need both sized and fireformed case water capacity if you
want to get both accurate pressure predictions and % filled capacity of a full-length resized case. If you are going to neck size only, you only
need fireformed case water capacity, so it is first, below. Two identical calculators are there so you can keep both numbers up at the same time.
You must use the same brand of case, with the same load history as the rest you will use to develop your load. Select one that is of average
weight for that lot, and size it (neck or full length) and trim it to the trim length you will use with the other cases. Enter the trim length in the top
yellow cell of the calculator you are using (just click in the cell and type over top of old entry).
For fired case water capacity determination, load and fire the trimmed case in the gun chamber you are going to make calculations for. Before
decapping and sizing it, weigh it empty and enter the resulting number of grains in the second yellow cell below (just click in the cell and type over
top of old entry). Fill it with water carefully until the water is exactly level with the case mouth (no meniscus, positive or negative). Tap it to be
sure no air bubbles are trapped inside. Make sure no water drops got on the outside. Weigh it again, and enter the result in the third yellow cell
in the first calculator below. Enter the temperature of the water in the bottom yellow cell.
