Policy Reminders Please be reminded of the following school policies and procedures.

Arrival and Departure

For the benefit of all students, teachers and parents, and to ensure an orderly and safe environment, the following drop off and pick up guidelines must be followed:

Morning Drop-off

• Please bring your child to school on time. Tardiness disrupts the class and our attendance procedures. Students must be in school before 9:00 am

• Please do not bring your child to school before 8:30 am, (unless you are enrolled in the before school program). Drop off times are 8:30 am – 9:00 am. Students arriving before 8:30 will be invoiced for the early drop-off.

• Once you bring your child to the classroom, please do not take them out again.

• Please hand your child over to the class teacher, say goodbye and leave promptly.

• ABC Montessori strictly prohibits parents from staying in the classrooms. Please understand that during the school day, the classroom is for teachers and students only.

• Teachers are not permitted to have meetings with parents in the morning, unless time has been scheduled for that. The teachers focus is the students ONLY.

Afternoon Pick-up

• Classes finish at 3:30 pm.

• Students who are not enrolled in the after-school program must be picked up between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm. Please pick up your child on time. You will be invoiced for late pickups.

• Please try to avoid picking up your child before 3:30 pm as it disrupts the class. If you need to pick your child up early, please call to let us know.

• Please go to your child’s locker to check for any letters or notes. We frequently issue letters regarding upcoming events, policies, etc. Please keep yourself informed.

• Once you pick up your child, please try to leave school property as soon as possible. Parents are not permitted to stay in classrooms or in the school building for a prolonged period of time.

We have very limited parking. If parents drop-off and pick-up students quickly, everyone can get in and out of the parking lot safely and efficiently. The parking lot gets very busy between 8:50 – 9:00 am. Avoid that time if you can.

Parking at the Law Office is strictly prohibited. Do not under any circumstances park at the Law Office as it is private property.

Parent / Teacher communication

Your opinions, views, concerns, and comments are very important to us. If you would like to schedule a meeting with the teachers to discuss any concerns, please contact myself or Ms. Shirley and we will arrange a meeting. We want to address any concerns or questions you have immediately and avoid any misunderstandings. Also, please be assured that the teachers will always contact you whenever they have any concerns about your child or if there is anything they think you should be aware of. The teachers do not have time at drop-off and pick-up time to meet with parents.

Please check your child’s locker everyday to see if there are letters or notes. Please read all communication and respond to any due dates.

ABC Montessori Uniform

All CASA and elementary students must wear the proper school uniform. If your child is not wearing the official school uniform, the teachers or supervisor will send a reminder note home. Parents who disregard the school uniform policy may be asked to withdraw their child from ABC Montessori.

These policies have been developed for the benefit of everyone at ABC Montessori and must be followed by everyone throughout the school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please discuss them with us.

Food Policy

Students are not permitted to bring food from home.

Snacks, birthday cakes, treats for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, etc. are not permitted in school unless authorized by the supervisor. Please do not bring any food to school. The only way to be safe is absolute avoidance of possible anaphylactic causative agents. Allergies can develop at any time in life.

Allergies, Medical Conditions and Special Needs

Students with Anaphylaxis (life threatening allergies) must fill out an Individual Anaphylaxis Information and Emergency Plan with the school supervisor before they can attend school. These students must keep 2 Epipens at school.

Students with medical conditions must fill out a Medical Emergency Plan before they can attend school. Parents of children with special needs must meet with the school supervisor to develop an individualized support plan for the child.
