presentation about the competition. Puro Verde Tequila Contract Design and Merchandising 2009-2010 • Assisted in creating a branding strategy and design concept for the organic tequila brand. Traveled with the company to Guadalajara, Mexico to better under-

stand the history of tequila, the essence of the brand, and sustainable agriculture practices. Theodore Alexander Assistant Showroom Designer 2009– 2010

• Worked in conjunction with interior designer Carole Snider to organize and design the showroom for Theodore Alexander, premier international furniture designers and makers of furniture. All in preparation for the High Point International Furniture Market.

NC State- Summer Textile Exploration Program (STEP) Design Instructor 2009 • Taught and assisted high school students in the conception, design, and development of fashion apparel. Helped students create a fashion item from recycled

clothing and presented to industry professionals. Meschantes Corsetry- Makers of Classic Couture Fashions Intern 2009 • Managed fashion shows, photo shoots, and promotional events for Meschantes Couture Corsetry in preparation for Raleigh Fashion Week. Atlantic Hospitality Supply- Commercial Interior Design Group Design Assistant 2006-2007 • Aided in the fabrication of hotel and office interiors, created design concept boards for clients, and consulted with clients on matters of design and job

organization. Educational Projects NTC Sustainability Project • Funded by the National Textile Center to research and provide a validated methodology to assess sustainability of new products in the textile complex and assist

in identifying new research as well as product and process opportunities. Concentrating on the sustainability of Fast Fashion systems. Doing Business Internationally: Mexico • Selected from North Carolina State University to join a delegation of local entrepreneurs and government officials to learn about the global business climate and

participate firsthand in international trade operations. Met with the U.S. Consulate, U.S. and Foreign Commercial Trade Services, American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico, North Carolina Department of Commerce– Mexican Trade Representative, and Merida Economic Development. Toured textile factories and engaged in cultural activities to better understand how business is conducted between the US and Mexico.

Economic Zone (E-Zone) of Tarboro- Place of Possibilities, Glenoit Mills • Led a group of high school students from the low income area of Aulander, North Carolina in a workshop where they created their own business model around a

textile product which could be produced at Glenoit Mills (Tarboro, NC). Worked with the students to help them realize their potential for success when combining hard work, creative thought, and follow through.
