Carmelites proudly celebrated the 10th Annual day celebration on 31
st January 2020.
The dazzling show was the culmination of massive effort put by the management, staff and
students of this prestigious institution. President of the day , Rev.Fr. Joy kolengadan,
Provincial Preshitha province, Chief guest of the day Dr.Reena Sharma, scientist G,
DRDO, Bangalore, Guest of honour Mr.Madesh, Panchayat President of Onnalavadi and
Parent representative Ms.Supriya , director of Everlead biotech lab graced the occasion.
Rev.Fr.Allwin spread the sweet aromo of happiness through words of welcome. Our
excellence in every field ,on every occasion , in every walk of our life was exemplified in
the school Annual report by Rev.Fr. Principal .The lamp of positivity was lit by the
dignitaries , head boy of our school master Devasagayam and teacher representatives Ms.
Vijayalakshmi, Ms. Sharadha and Ms. Margarette.The President of the day was honoured by
Rev.Fr. Principal , the chief guest of the day by Ms. Sumitha and the guest of honour by
Rev.Fr. Allwin with a momento and shawl on the dais. Proficiency awards , best
achievement awards and cash awards were given by the dignitaries. President and the chief

representative Ms. Supriya shared her
views about our school as a parent.
The theme of the Annual Day
“Mission 2020 “was highlighted as the
voice of the youth today . It was the
mission of the youth to stand up for
the victims of social issues to build a
better society where we live in peace
and harmony to make this world a
beautiful place to live in. It was a
dance cum skit programme with
mesmerising dances of our born
dancers and an enactment of reality .
Invocation dance by our little angels evoked God‟s devotion and the spirit of serenity and
brought heavenly bliss . Grade IX students captivated the audience through the military
parade , tough training session and their
realistic enactment of the military attack
.Grade III students highlighted the
harvest festival at Punjab through their
charming dance. The birth of jack till his
childhood was enacted in between the
splendid dance performance of Grade IV
students. Grade VIII had the chance of
performing an entertaining dance in
western style. Wedding dance by grade
V students spread the festive vibes of
celebration.Jallikattu presentation by
Grade V students triggered the youth to
speak for justice. Chennai memes ,
technology, Chennai flood and Singara
Chennai was highlighted by Grade VI
students leaving the audience
spellbound. The social issues of women today and women empowerment was brought to
limelight by Grade VII. Best dancers of our school enthralled the audience through their
mesmerising dance moves. The programme was entertaining as well as thought provoking
which stimulated everyone to embark on the mission 2020. It emerged victorious and added
one more gem to our accomplishments.

On 10th
of January our school celebrated New Year, Pongal, Rev.Fr.Principal‟s Birthday and
Chavara Day. The celebration commenced with the blessings of Almighty by the lamp
lighting ceremony. The programme started with Rev.Fr. Principal‟s birthday where cake was
cut and the children were happy to join the birthday song. They also presented gifts as the
token of their love. As New Year is a special celebration, students of Grade IV A dressed in
their colourful attires performed New Year dance with costumes
designed to bring nothing but luck in the coming year. As
various celebrations and events at the school were
designed in a manner to evoke and expose the
student‟s inner most talents,Pongal celebration is
also one among them.
The Pongal celebration began with the short skit where the Tamil department including the
teachers and students did a magnificent job by enacting about the traditional customs
followed during Pongal and also explaining about the importance of each day‟s celebration.
The students of Grade IV B&C came in their traditional dresses and exhibited joy and pride
by reviving
the festivity
in a village
with their
colourful
folk dance
which filled
the campus
with land‟s
cultural
aura.
St. Chavara
is the
heavenly
patron of all
CMI
Institutions. As every year, Chavara day is celebrated to mark the memory of St. Chavara
being the founder of CMI Congregation, this year is very special as it is the 150 Jubilee year
of this Great
man.Rev.Fr.Principal highlighted
the history of such a great man
who was the guiding light and
inspiration for all the endeavours.
Thus the fun filled celebration
concluded with special wishes
from Rev.Fr. Principal for New
Year and Pongal.
What an exciting moment to celebrate Farewell Day for outgoing students!
The farewell was organised by the students and teachers of Grade IX & X on the 15th of
February 2020. “Samavarthanam 2020” was the name given to the celebration where
students of Grade IX bid farewell to the outgoing students of Grade X with great enthusiasm.
The function began with the prayer song. A welcome address was given by the student of
Grade IX. There was a lamp lighting ceremony. A prayer service was organized , where the
prayers of our hearts were offered to the creator for the students of grade X, for the students
of Carmel ,for the management , staff and parents. Grade X students offered study materials,
flowers and fruits to God Almighty whole heartedly and received blessings from
Rev.Fr.Principal, Rev.Fr. Allwin and from all their handling teachers. Rev. Fr. Principal and
Rev. Fr. Allwin blessed their study materials and delivered speech with fruitful words to the
students to have the better future. They also wished students good luck for their future
endeavours. The teachers of Grade X spoke about examination guidelines and to have a good
scope in their future. They also asked them to do their best and face life challenges with
confidence. The highlight was the video which created an ambience of enjoyment and
emotions to enjoy their past memories in school which threw fun and added life to the party.
The event was made even more memorable with the memories that were shared by the
students of Grade X about their Alma Mater. Rev. Fr. Principal gave momentoes to the
outgoing students. The grade X students presented a fish tank to the school and gave
memorable gifts to Rev.Fr.Principal, Rev.Fr. Allwin, staff and non-teaching staff as the
token of their love and gratitude. A concluding note was given by the students of Grade X.
Summing up, there was a photo session and thus the day was great, filled with nostalgia of
fun and excitement.

Get Together
The significance of the
occasion was to commemorate

,St.Kuriakose Elias Chavara
and the family get together of
the teaching and non teaching
staff of Carmel International
School , along with the
management as an act of
thanksgiving to God Almighty
in this 150 years of St.Chavara
.The families of the teaching
and non teaching staff gathered
at 6 p.m. on 23 rd
Feb . The
chief guest of the occasion was Rev.Fr. Joby. who delivered a thought provoking message
focussing on the life of St.Chavara. Rev.Fr. James and Rev.Fr. Linson graced the occasion
with their valuable presence.The auspicious occasion, commenced with a warmth of
welcome by Rev.Fr. Principal .The formal welcome address ended with welcoming each
family with a flower , which made everyone feel very special. A prayer service was
organised, where prayers were offered for the members of CMI institutions , for the
students ,staff ,families and for the common welfare of the nation through the intercession of
Mother Mary our Patroness and through our founder St.Chavara, who is regarded as the
champion of families.
When we pray passionately and purposefully , according to God‟s will , God responds
powerfully! Everyone was inspired to spend few moments in the presence of God . The
prayer service ended with the final blessing of the gathering by Rev.Fr.Joby, the chief guest
of the occasion.
Dance performance of the staff with their children captured everyone‟s attention through
sentiments and emotions. Innovative and exciting games were organised by Rev.Fr.Allwin
for couples and children . Gifts were given to each family in memory of St.Chavara „s 150
years. Dinner was arranged which made the day complete .
“In truth a family is what we make it. It is made strong by the memories we share, by the
commitment of time, care and love we give for our family ”
The day was memorable for the life time for both the staff and their family members ,which
gave them the feeling of oneness with the carmel family .Thanks to Rev.Fr.Principal for his
thoughtfulness in arranging this carmel family get together .
A Visit to a Government School for social service:
On 23rd of December 2020 Rev. Fr.
Allwin, Coordinator of KG department
and few teachers visited a nearby
government school in Jonnabonda. As
part of social activity the team visited to
serve the needy students in school on the
eve of Christmas. The visit was greeted
with unsurmountable joy. With the motto
of “sharing and caring” the team
members carried cake and gift pack
containing stationary items to create bond
with students. The cake was cut by the
students to make them feel special. The
Coordinator had an interaction with
children and found that everyone were so
active and happy. There were about 50 children and they were very excited. The experience
was very memorable and the teachers felt entrenched with the joy of giving. The visit
encouraged to do more for the needy and thus the activity gives a message to the students
that one must contribute and understand the social responsibilities towards society.
A visit to old Home of Mentally retarded people:
On 22nd
of February 2020 our school
organized an outreach programme to visit
Sneha Bhavan Institute which is the home for
the mentally retarded people. There were 40
aged people and it was an opportunity to help
the needy people thereby providing them
security and affection. The team consisting of
Management, few teachers and children
visited the place where they were greeted
with insurmountable joy. Everybody looked
so excited and joyful when we interacted with
them. The children engaged them by playing
games and entertained with some cultural
programmes. They were very happy that one
could possibly imagine, it was a riot of
happiness. It also provided an opportunity for
us to contribute delicious food which brought
a huge smile on the faces of aged people. We
spent nearly one and half an hour entertaining them. It was a memorable, meaningful and
redeeming day for all of us. It was indeed very satisfying experience for the students as they
could bring smiles on aged people however over a brief period. They realized that one must
contribute and understand his/ her social responsibility towards society.
Celebrations are social gatherings
that form the basic essence of life;
some celebrations can be light and
sweet and one such is chocolate
cake day. As chocolate is loved by
people from all the corners of the
world, the students of Grade I B
celebrated chocolate cake day on
January 13, 2020 in a scrumptious
way. The tiny tots came in colourful
dresses and spoke about the
significance of chocolate cake
which brings everyone together to
celebrate by enhancing the
sweetness of relationship. The joy of
celebrating chocolate cake day was seen on the gleaming faces of tiny tots when they danced
to the steps of music thus leaving the blissful memories.
On January 28 Tuesday, students of
Grade I A celebrated “May your
dream come true” day with great
honour to show a clear picture of
dream and idea. The boundless joy of
celebrating the day was amply visible
as tiny-tots presented a spectacular
performance enacting about the
achievement of dream and about being
successful in life. The celebration
became vibrant as the little ones made
a scintillating dance show with their
elegant dresses. Thus the children
made the day special by making everyone to focus for the tremendous effort of their dream.
Students of Grade I C on 4th
of February
Tuesday celebrated national hug day also
known as Global Hug Day. The celebration
Kick-started with the enactment of a small
skit where the little ones highlighted the
significance of a hug through their speech
and actions. Dressed in colourful costumes,
the students made invigorating dance show,
which was electrifying and received a
cheerful applause from the audience. Thus,
the program ended with cheerful quotes of
Hug day receiving applause and cheers from
the spectators.
Art is an expression of our thoughts,
emotions and desires. To help children
understand the importance of art and
crafts and in order to achieve their
creative potential, students of Grade II A
celebrated Handicrafts Day on
24/1/2020. The students presented a skit
where they spoke about the benefits of
designed handicrafts which can enhance
and exploit the artistic potential. To
make the day more special, they also
entertained with a graceful dance show.
Thus the entire programme created a
great enthusiasm among the students.
Farmer‟s Day was celebrated by students
of Grade II C in a grand manner on
21/1/2020 to acquaint the students with
understanding the significance of
Farmer‟s day. The students presented one
act play, depicting various steps involved
in the irrigation process from the
preparation of soil for farming to the final
harvest of the crop. The students also
presented a colourful and joyous dance
which stole the show with their
outstanding performance. Thus the
students successfully delivered the
message that farmers are the spine of
India and their hard works must be
appreciated.
As part of Navy day celebration,
students of Grade II B organised
an event on 10/1/2020 refreshing
the memories of our veterans and
to expose them to advancements
made by Navy. The children
through skit come dance very
clearly enacted about the marine
branch of Indian Armed forces.
Thus the children winded up the
programme by saying about the valuable service and sacrifice which our Navy personnel
have made by making nation stronger and safer.
The little angels of Kindergarten of our
school laughed their way to merriment as
they celebrated laughter day on 14th
February 2020. The objective of the day
was to spread a positive manifestation and
to build up brotherhood and friendship
through laughter. The tiny tots presented a
laughter show to highlight the significance
of bringing laughter into everyone‟s life.
The children moved their dance steps to the
music which created laughter among
everyone. The children enjoyed the
laughter game and kept laughing the whole
day. The program culminated with the
message that the sound of laughter is like
the vaulted dome of a temple of happiness.
The 21st of March each year marks the
international day of forests popularly
known as international forest day. The
celebration was an ideal opportunity to
instill the value of social responsibility
among the students. The day was
celebrated by the young kids of KG II
on 21st of March. A model jungle
environment was created with students
putting on costumes and performing
roles of different animals. The children
also highlighted the importance of
forests and trees for the current and
future generation. With a smile on their
faces, the young dancers entered the
stage and showed a few dance numbers where everybody enjoyed the dance and highly
appreciated. The children enjoyed filling up the worksheet and also playing the game of
differentiating the wild animals and domestic animals. Thus the celebration revealed that it is
important to connect to ecosystems for global development priorities.
