Diamond is the hardest known material in the world. Due to its outstanding properties, it opens up completely new applications for scanning of extremly hard or soft materials. When scanning soft aluminum alloys with Diamond Scan styli, no material build-up occurs. When scanning hard ceramics or cast iron, no wear can be observed on the sphere.

Advantages of this new product and profit of its advantages:- Reduced down-time of your CMM due to changes of used styli.- More stable and confident measuring processes. - The sphere does not change its shape.- The deviation of the perfect sphere is below 0.25 µm. - The diameter tolerance is +/-20 µm.

With this assembly tool, star styli probes (clamping type) can be adjusted and assembled.

With the slotted discs, styli and carbide pins can be inserted and positioned. The slotted disc is screwed towards an extension with a clamping disc and a long threaded stylus - the result being a star stylus.

The swiveling stylus is inserted into the appropriate swiveling holder and clamped. The shaft is made out of carbide and the sphere is made out of ruby.

The swiveling styli holder has been designed to hold specially designated swiveling styli. They can be attached to it by a simple insertion and clamping process.

Styli with sphere can be directly attached to 11 mm diameter extensions. Thus long styli can be assembled for deep holes.

By applying large spheres, flaws in rough surfaces can be evened out. Ceramic hollow-hemispheres are ideal for measurements where low weight is required.
