ACT
• What is the ACT? The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in: English, Math, Reading, and Science. You can also choose to take the writing part of the ACT if your college requests the writing part.
• The ACT is accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the US.
• The ACT includes 215 multiple-choice questions and takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. Actual testing time is 2 hours and 55 minutes (plus 30 minutes for the writing).
• Who should be taking it? Everyone should at their appropriate time.
• When should the student be taking it? Word of God Academy recommends every student should take the ACT in June after their 9th grade year. Then continue studying and taking it until you have the desired score.
• Please remember this particular test is not free and is not paid by the school.
• Please have your score sent to WOGA as well as the colleges you are thinking about attending.

1st College Fair
• Please mark your calendar for our first college fair event that we will be attending. The college fair will be held at Calvary Baptist Academy on Monday, October 27th, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. Other schools are also partnering with Calvary.
• This is a come and go event and will last until 7:30 P.M. They are expecting to have up to 40 universities at this fair.
• Dr. Bass and I will attend this college fair. • 9th and 10th grade students and their parents/guardians are
encouraged to attend to meet some college recruiters and learn more about many colleges.
Final Points
• Word of God Academy teachers are incorporating ACT/SAT prep into their daily lessons.
• All students are following an excellent curriculum to receive the TOPS scholarship through our Word of God Academy Educational Plan.
• Remember, in order to be awarded a TOPS Scholarship, a student must take the required courses, earn the required GPA or above, and score the minimum ACT or equivalent SAT score or above on the test. All of these combined are mandatory for the scholarship.
• We will be administering a career, strengths, and interests test in the near future to all 7th through 10th grade students.
