Republic Day

On 26th January 2018, the High Commission of

India celebrated India’s 69th Republic Day.

The Mission held a flag hoisting ceremony in the

morning hours which were followed through

with a celebratory event in the evening. The Mis-

sion was privileged to have Hon. Aggrey Masi,

MP as the guest of honor.

Business Visa Visitors Cocktail

On 19th January 2018, the High Commission

of India hosted a cocktail event for distinguished

business personnel that had obtained Business

Visa’s to India. The event was well patronized

and provided further opportunity for distin-

guished business personnel to interact and en-

hance business opportunities.

The business cocktail event proved to have suc-

ceeded in fostering a p l a t f o r m f o r business

interaction, networking, pleasure and relaxation. States Day

On 13th January 2018, the High Commission of

India celebrated Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh &

Telangana Day.

Malawi India Business Meet

2018

The Malawi-India Business Meet (MIBM) is an an-nual event that is hosted by the High Commission of India, Lilongwe in partnership with the Malawi Investment and Trade Centre. The event brings together Malawian and Indian companies based in Malawi for the purposes of exploring and enhanc-ing business opportunities in both countries. Since 2017, the MIBM gave a platform to busi-nesses from both countries to explore opportuni-ties accorded by each country. This year, the MIBM was held on 16 March 2018 and served as a precursor for the main event; the 13th CII (Confederation of Indian Industries)-Exim Bank Conclave on India Africa Project Partnership to be held from 25-27 March 2018 in New Delhi, India.

Hon. Aggrey Masi, Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining attended the International Solar Alliance Conference in New Delhi, India on 11 March, 2018. Govt. of the Republic of Malawi rati-fied the International Solar Alliance Framework Agreement on 6th November, 2017.

High Commission celebrates Holi on 4th March in Lilongwe. Indian, Malawian and International community join the festivities and had a fun time. U.P. Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh & Chhattisgarh States were also celebrated with their special deli-cacies.

Right Honourable Vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chuilima led the Malawi delegation for the 13th CII-Exim Bank Conclave for India-Africa Partnere-ship held from 25th-27th March 2018 in New Del-hi India. Hon. Henry Mussa, MP, Minister of Industry, Trade & Tourism and Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Fabi-ano, MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Interna-tional Cooperation were also a part of the delega-tion along with various business personnel.
