HASTINGS DEERING GROUPEstablished in 1932, the Hastings Deering Group is one of the top 5 Cat dealers worldwide. The company is the exclusive distributor for the sale of Cat equipment, technology solutions, and genuine parts and service support in our territories. Headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Hastings Deering has 3000 employees, across 23 business service centres throughout Queensland, Northern Territory, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and New Caledonia.

We sell, rent and offer outstanding support and parts distribution services for our construction infrastructure and transport customers including general and commercial construction, civil transport, power systems, government, primary industries and marine.

In 1992, the Hastings Deering Group was purchased by Sime Darby Berhad, one of the oldest and largest Cat dealers in the world and a multinational organisation with more than 200 companies operating in 26 countries.

Today, the combination of our rich history, the expertise of our people and our genuine commitment to understand our customers’ needs continues to sustain Hastings Deering as a market leader providing solutions that deliver superior outcomes for our customers.

SAFETYAt Hastings Deering we have implemented five year Strategic Safety Plans that include initiatives to support the delivery of a No Harm workplace. Over the last three years, we have achieved a company-wide transformation of our safety performance with a >85% reduction of our Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TRIFR). However, we will never be satisfied until No Harm is achieved and all of our people can return home safely, every day.

ENVIRONMENTAt Hastings Deering, we are progressively minimising our environmental impact at all operations. With a number of environmental targets already achieved, our focus is now on the reduction of C02 emissions, waste and water management.

To assist our customers, Hastings Deering provides expert advice to optimise equipment maintenance approaches that can improve fuel burn, reduce emissions, reduce component wear and increase service intervals. Leveraging class leading technologies along with practical advice in fleet management, predictive maintenance, Hastings Deering can assist you to improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions.

QUALITY AND ACCREDITATION Hastings Deering’s quality, safety and environmental management systems are third party accredited to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008, AS/NZS 4801:2001, and AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004 respectively. Having GWA (Gas Work Authority) certification also allows us to install gas engines/generator sets and issue a 734 certificate to enable compliance with type B requirements. All our Gas Engine Technicians have completed UEPMNT367A & UEPMNT368A to ensure compliance with Government legislation.

HASTINGS DEERING LEARNING CENTRESHastings Deering is a Registered Training Organisation. Our three Learning Centres in Brisbane, Central Queensland and Port Moresby provide a range of nationally recognised, accredited and non-accredited courses designed to address the needs of the construction, infrastructure and transport sectors.

Our Learning Centres provide Cat equipment users with appropriate training in service and repair technology as an essential part of our product support capability designed to lower the cost of ownership.

In 2016, Hastings Deering remains one of the largest trainers of apprentice Diesel Mechanics in Australia, continuing our tradition of training the very best tradespeople. We choose to do this so we can deliver the highest quality, Cat specific trained technicians to ensure our customers gain the best possible Cat ownership experience.

HIGHLY SKILLED TECHNICIANS Every technician that visits a customer site or works in one of our workshops is Caterpillar trained. Localised field technicians operate fully equipped vehicles, fitted with the right Cat tooling and leading diagnostic equipment, enabling them to respond, diagnose and repair quickly.

15-20% LESS FUEL AND BENCHMARK PRODUCTIVITYSimmich Farming, with their new CAT 140M AWD grader equipped with the latest GPS guided control, is setting new benchmarks in productivity and using 15-20% less fuel by leveraging advanced telematics and the latest engine technology. On one Toowoomba’s largest ever bulk earthworks projects, our customer set a new time frame benchmark for the project. Completing 176 house blocks, 160 with different levels, 4-5 roads and a roundabout completed in record time.

UP TO 30% SAVING ON SERVICE COSTS With Boral Concrete Hastings Deering tailored a fixed price scheduled service offering for their near 80 wheel loader fleet across Queensland and the Northern Territory, shaving up to 30% off the service costs with the inclusion of genuine Cat parts and Hastings Deering technicians.

SCHEDULING AND REBUILD SMARTS SAVES $390,000 Hastings Deering provided an innovative engine rebuild strategy, supported by our project flow enhancement methodology to deliver a 60% reduction in plant down time for a major Oil and Gas producer. Total realised cost savings exceeded $390,000 for each Cat G3608 engine rebuild project. Safety risk mitigation was realised through the substantial reduction in site labour.

$75,000 P.A. FUEL SAVINGThe new 980K Wheel Loader has halved the fuel usage for Karreman Quarries to just over 25 litres an hour delivering a 10 year saving extrapolated to exceed $750,000.
