When people think of mirrors and lenses, they usually think of

But there are other uses for lenses and mirrors.

A convex lens can focus light and images.

A concave lens can diverge light and distort images.

Mirrors reflect light. Their reflectionsdepend on the shape of the mirrorand the distance from the object. In addition to being planar (or

flat), they can be convex….

Or concave. They can invert…..

Miniaturize….. Or magnify images.
