Summer Holiday Homework Fun
Class II 2016
Dear Parents,
The summer holidays are here again! During the long hot afternoon beat the heat by
staying indoors & doing fun indoor things. Read, watch movies, play games and spend a little time
doing your homework as well.
Section – A (English)
1. Happy Reading! – Read these stories.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
The Monkey and the Cap seller
Noddy
Sleeping Beauty
The Enormous Turnip
Pinocchio
a) Pick out five new words from each story read. Write down the words with their meanings on an A4 sheet.
b) Choose any two stories. From each story choose a character, write five sentences
about each character and draw the picture as well. Use A4 sheets and put them in a
folder.
2. Do one page of Cursive English handwriting every week from the story books in a four line
thin notebook.
Travelogues-Prepare a booklet using coloured paper about the place you visited during the
holidays.
1. Name of the place you visited.
2. Where is that place?
3. How did you travel?
4. Who all went with you?
5. What did you see there?
6. Paste pictures and photographs.
Section – B (Creative)
Do the following activities
1. Recycled Plant Pots
Do not throw away big used containers. Make beautiful plant pots for the
kitchen windows. Paint them with bright colours on the outside. Paint a thin
border at the base of the pot and leave it to dry. Now make a hole at the base
of the pot. Fill the pot with soil and your beautiful plant pot is ready.
2. Make a pencil holder
Take any used container. Cover it with coloured paper.
Decorate it with stickers and other items available in your house.
You have a pencil holder. Isn’t it simple?
Section – C (Maths).
1. Do the Maths booklet provided to you. (Two sums to be done every day)
Section – D (Science)
Do the activities given to you.
1. Construct a bird feeder and the rain gauge. ( WB pg 2 & 76)
2. Follow the instruction given in the sheets.
Note:
1. The school will close for summer vacations from 14th May and will reopen on 4th July,
2016.
