Dear Parent,

Greetings from The Gaudium International School!

December 2019 gave an opportunity for staff and students to be multitaskers balancing academics and other activities. Naming a few Cyclic tests, Asset Math test for grades 6 to 10, preboards for grade X, preparation for Annual sports day, grand launch of our unique Sportopia programme which brought a galaxy of stars to Gaudium and marked a new beginning.

We had pre-Christmas celebrations to bring in the spirit of Christmas.

Planning, preparation and practice were the key elements which drove us in all our undertakings.

It is so gratifying to work in an environment in which all stakeholders value the diversity and respect for each other. This value is an integral part of all our programs.

We certainly had a fantastic month. It has been incredibly busy, but the learning is astounding!

As always, we keep the lines of communication open with any concerns or questions that you may have through Write to us!

Warm wishes to you and your family and a Happy New Year!

Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instil in us.

– Hal Borland

Yours in the cause of Education

Importance Of Maths:

Mathematics is a methodical application of matter. It is so said because the subject makes a man methodical and systematic. Certain qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are the power of reasoning, creativity, abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and even effective communication skills.

Mathematics is a cradle of creations, without which the world cannot move an inch. Be it a cook or a farmer, a carpenter or a mechanic, a shopkeeper or a doctor, an engineer or a scientist, a musician or a magician, everyone needs mathematics in their day-to-day life.

The present age is full of skill-development and innovation. The more mathematical we are in our approach the more successful we will be. Mathematics offers rationality to our thoughts. It is a tool in our hands to make life simpler and easier. Let us realize and appreciate the beauty of the subject and embrace it with all our hearts. It is a talent that should be compulsorily honed by all in every walk of life.

Math Day:

A famous mathematician once said, “ Mathematics is the most beautiful and most powerful creation of the human spirit.” Mathematics can be tough sometimes, so can many things in life. Mathematics is the only subject which shows that problems have solutions. Mathematics can be fun, challenging, hands on and applicable in real life. To celebrate the spirit of mathematical learning, experience the joy of the mathematical sphere and to explore various mathematical concepts in a creative manner, Math Day was celebrated in The Gaudium School on Tuesday, 10 December 2019. It was a fun filled and joyful day of learning for the geckos who exhibited unparalleled excitement and actively participated in all activities like puzzles, games, quiz and so on.

ASSET:

ASSET is a skill based test that measures student’s conceptual understanding, benchmarks school’s performance at an international, national & regional level with actionable insights through easy-to-understand reports. It is a diagnostic test to assess the skills acquired in the previous grades.

Math asset exam was conducted for all grades of senior school, grades 6 to 10 CBSE and grades 6 to 10 CAIE, on 16 December 2019.
